The idea of creating smart clothing was first prompted by the science fiction but even experts didn’t expect the e-textile revolution to start to fast and progress so rapidly. Nowadays smart clothing is used to encase wearable technology and provide the user with new, unseen before capabilities and functionality. There are many working prototypes and startups, which are aimed at redefining the fashion industry. Right now wearable technology has found its best use in the sport, fitness, wellness and medical industries (special monitors may be used for tracking all the vital body metrics) but creative solutions may influence the creation of casual clothing (there are already substances, which can make clothing repel water, dust and other pollutants). Smart clothing is definitely a thing of the future and this industry has everything it takes to become a mainstream technology. More about such technologies here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixN3Uf6ZrRo In this video presentation we have reviewed such futuristic clothing designs (fair use of footage, all credits are below and in the video): - Synapse dress, which lights up the dress, depending on the person’s moon: www.vimeo.com/106431614 - Smart fitness tracker, which can help monitor performance to reach better results: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zbtc-unamZs - A smart shoe, which can change its style: www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-HAu9FEbss - An overview of a smart-shirt created for running: www.youtube.com/watch?v=zO80nmgCbZs - A scientific story about the technology of smart gloves, used for gesture-controlling technology: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ci-yB6EgVW4 - The special compound, which makes clothing waterproof and resistant to pollutants (hydrophobic clothing). The lions, whose place of habitat once reached the farthest places in Asia and even Europe, nowadays may be founds only in Africa (African lions) and in India's Gir Forest (Asiatic lions). Most of the scientists state that these are the only subspecies of lions but some zoological organizations list six more subspecies, setting the total count at 8. All available subspecies vary in diet, size, habitat preferences, etc. But it also should be stated that there are several lion hybrids, which were a result of mating with other big cats - tigers, leopards and even jaguars. Currently scientists distinguish between such lion hybrids and animal mixes: jaglion, liger, tigon, liliger, leopon: - jaglion is a cross between a jaguar and a lion;; - ligers are a result of a cross of a male lion and a female tiger (more info about them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HgW86TwF_o); - tigon (in some cases tiglon) is a result of mating between a male tiger & a lioness (watch more about them: www.youtube.com/watch?v=0teBbnPFTzQ); - liliger is a hybrid between a ligress & a male lion (more about them: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3xHuVhcFa4); - leopon - a leopard and a lion mix; - in rare cases scientists encouncer lijaguleps - a mix of a lion and a jagulep (which is a hybrid between a jaguar & a leopard). This was just a brief review of the real hybrids, which are born after mating between lions and other big cats. If you would like to find out other interesting facts about these animals, please check out this video presentation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAypdmhTYpQ We have handpicked fun facts about lions and here are just some of them: - the functional use of mane in animal kingdom; - a heartwarming story about saving endangered animal; - could we call lions the kings of the jungle? - and many more to come. Rat rods belong to the list of popular car tuning and modification styles, which were developed in the USA, and are still gaining popularity with days passing. We are all familiar with hot rods – classic restored or tuned American cars from the 1930s or 1940s – but the term "rat rod" is relatively new to an average driver. Car enthusiasts, on contrary, know this car tuning style (or even a modification culture) as an exaggerated response to the high-priced custom hot rods. They believe that hot rodding in its essence started by people, who are passionate about cars but don’t always have a budget for a show-class car. That is why rat rods appear to be unfinished, with preserved patina, aged look and enough mechanical parts to be driven. So say that a rat rod only needs the bare essentials to be driven, however, it raises the controversy about such cars being safe both to the driver and the surrounding vehicles. The rad rod car culture has both haters, who point out to its disadvantages, such as the safety issue described below, and supporters, who think that such unusual car tuning style will draw more young gearheads to creating custom cars and learning about American automotive history. We encourage you to learn more about other styles of tuning in the USA here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8mOtbIi4mw And don’t forget to learn about some of them even more, especially: - the lowriders; - the sleepers or how the British call them – the Q-cars; - and hi-risers or donks with incredibly complex wheels. Thanks for your time and don’t forget to share your thoughts about this culture.

Recently zero emission riding has become a reality, so manufacturers are constantly looking for ways to apply their new inventions. Riding vehicles that are quiet, quite fast and run on renewable energy sources is a perfect solution for city dwellers. City transport is due to go through a series of revolutionary changes and equipping vehicles with all-electric drivetrains may be one step towards these changes. We already have electric cars, trucks and vans; now it seems that the time has come to use this tech on smaller vehicles, i.e. motorcycles, mopeds, scooters and bicycles. If we talk about mopeds, it should be mentioned that they were efficient already and provided many benefits to the riders. But using all-electric motors on moped scooters can make them even better. Please note that all media that appear in this video review were used for purely educational and illustrative purposes. Detailed information about the sources of the media could be found at the end of the clip. The highest level of agricultural professionalism and artistic taste is being shown by the Japanese villagers, who first wanted to save the tradition of rice cultivations but came up with their own stunning art form – the rice paddy art. Historical evidence shows people of Aomori, Japan have been cultivating rice and involved in agriculture for over 2000 years, so in 1993 the dwellers of the region tried to draw more attention to the declining industry by creating a giant picture of Mt. Iwaki in a paddy field. Thanks to the media attention and years of practice, the rice field art has become a big tourist destination in the region, as people learned how to use different types of heirloom and modern strains of rice to create more complex and stunning artworks on their fields. In April 2007, the rice of different colors was planted by over 700 people in order to create one of the largest pictures but hopefully, as the industry grows the new records are to be set. See more videos about this art form (fair use of footage): www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnoHJAF2ZHI www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-RxHriKPh8 www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqEIBsZXdIQ The rice fields of Aomori, Japan belong to the list of the most colorful places on planet Earth. Despite belonging to the list of the largest and loudest animals on planet Earth, whale species face a series of serious threats. Although being large and powerful, most of cetacean species suffer from human impact worse than many other mammals. The first step to protection of these marine animals is learning the value to the global eco-system. If more people understood the danger most of whales are in, there would be more support to the environmentalists, who do their best to preserve current population of endangered aquatic mammals. Facts that are mentioned in this educational video presentation: -facial expressions of beluga whales (image via: www.insideclimatenews.org/species/mammals/beluga-whale); - the odd ways that sperm whales sleep; - blue whales and their ability to make loudest sounds on Earth - most endangered underwater dwellers: North Atlantic and North Pacific right whales, gray and Bryde's whales; - how narwhals use their tusks; - Migaloo – a well-known albino whale.
The application of electric motors has already been tested in various types of modern transport – cars, trucks, vans, motorcycles, bicycles, skateboards, etc. Seeing these types of vehicles running on electricity is getting pretty common in the 21 century but would you believe that there are engineers, who installed massive battery packs in their aircraft and made them fly? This uprising form of urban transport is here to change the notion of urban mobility once and for all. While the capacity of even the most advanced battery packs leaves much to be desired, they are already suitable for short flying commutes or work in hybrid propulsion systems. One more thing that makes these drone-like airplanes suitable for city travel is the ability to land and take off vertically. Get ready, as the latest VTOL and flying taxis are coming to help you travel faster and with almost no emissions or noise pollution. In this video you will learn about aircraft that are likely to cause a small transportation revolution (information about sources and media used to create this presentation can be found in the "Credits" section): - Kittyhawk by Cora is an autonomous aircraft that can take off and land vertically, run on all-electric propulsion and produce low levels of noise. - Pop.Up Next is an urban mobility invention created by Audi and Italdesign. This two in one product can serve as a VTOL aircraft and an electric city car. - Lilium Jet is an air taxi with a good flying range and can let you fly from A to B without spending any time at the airport. - Passengerdrone dot com: as the name implies, it’s a large drone that can carry up to 2 passengers with ease. - Ehang 184 is the first manned aerial vehicle that was licensed to be used for carrying passengers in certain parts of the world. - Volocopter X2 is greatly supported by the Mercedes Benz EQ program with an aim of making urban air travel easy and affordable for those, who value their time the most. - Trifan 600 is the only aircraft on this top list with a hybrid propulsion system. It may not be considered as a zero emission vehicle but it certainly provides a significantly longer flying range.

Sleepers, Q-cars or automotive wolves in sheep's clothing – car experts have already come up with many names for such popular car modification style (some people even call sleepers a separate tuning style or culture but thoughts vary greatly). A sleeper is a car with unassuming exterior that underwent major customizations and modifications under the hood. Q-cars (that’s how the British call this type of vehicles) tend to be ridiculously fast, so unassuming granny cars or old sedans may be only told apart from a sleeper by an car enthusiast of a real expert (the most noticeable upgrades are the cooling system and tires, as they need to provide better traction with turbo boosted engines). Don’t forget to check out other unusual car tuning styles in America here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8mOtbIi4mw We have reviewed some of the most popular sleeper modifications, including: - 1029hp minivan Honda Odyssey; - an 850hp dragster hidden under the skin of a Toyota Camry (created for the SEMA show); - insanely fast 1,056hp VolksWagen Golf MK1. Don’t forget to share your stories about favorite custom cars or automotive trends.

Astronomy is one of the oldest sciences, which helped and continues to help people find out more about the stars, far away planets and celestial objects, which may help find answers to some of the most unusual phenomena, which take place in Earth. Unlike at the times of Nicolaus Copernicus, Hans Lippershey, Galileo Galilei and Johannes Kepler, who used mostly observations and first prototypes of telescopes, today scientists have a larger array of tools, which may be used for studying space, planets, galaxies and the Universe as a whole. We have put together a list of fun facts from the history of space exploration and future plans in this field. The video includes such facts: - which astronomer invented the first telescope? - influence of the speed of light on how we see the stars; - discovery of the largest satellite in the Solar System; - the coldest known object in all of the Universe; - Great Red Spot or a storm in Jupiter’s southern Hemisphere; - Pistol Star as the largest star, known to the science; - how many stars are there in the Milky Way; - Quasars as the Universe’s most distant objects; - price for the construction of the International Space Station; - the first food grown and eaten in space; - what are space suits and EMU made of? - a planet, which has a surface made of diamonds; - how 3D printing may be used by astronauts.
