How to Endorse a Check to Someone Else

01:51
How to Endorse Your Check So Someone Else May Cash It. A check written specifically to you is a simple matter to cash. By endorsing the back of the check with your name as it appears on the front of the check, you can present the check to a bank to cash or deposit it. If you receive a check that you want to transfer to someone else, endorse your check so someone else may cash it. Endorsing a check simply means you acknowledge receipt of the check, and your signature is evidence of legal transfer of the amount noted on the check. When you sign your name, this is tangible proof you received the check should any questions arise. Watch this video to learn how do you endorse check so that someone else or a particular person can cash it out. Koh Samui Travelers Cheque Run - April 2016

07:15
This is for anyone thinking of taking Sterling Travelers Cheques to Koh Samui. In Bangkok I dont think you will have any trouble changing them, but in Koh Samui you will have problems, NONE of the small road side change bureaus or Krungsri banks will change them for you, the ONLY place that will change them is SCB bank in Chaweng, and then you will be charged 153THB for EACH cheque cashed, so if you must take Sterling cheques then take £100 or £200 cheques, better still take Sterling cash, which you can change anywhere! Dollars & Euro cheques are widely accepted. Banks will require a copy of your Passport, whereas Bureau De Change will do with a driving licence.

Real English Vocabulary: At the BANK

08:41
This is a practical vocabulary lesson about words we use at the bank. Banking has a set of specialized vocabulary, and you may be nervous to go to the bank in an English-speaking country. But knowing some useful words will make it easy and pleasant for you. In this lesson, I will teach you the meaning of "bank teller", "PIN", "investments", "account", "deposit", "withdraw", and many more terms associated with going to the bank. If you want to feel more confident when going to the bank and speaking in English, watch this lesson and complete the quiz. After that, you'll be in business! http://www.engvid.com/real-english-vocabulary-at-the-bank/ TRANSCRIPT Hi, everyone. I'm Alex. Thanks for clicking, and welcome to this lesson on "Bank Vocabulary". Today, we're going to talk about going to the bank, and the different things you can do, and the different verbs associated and nouns associated with this very common experience. So, first, when you enter the bank, you have to "get in line" or "get in the queue". Now, specifically, in the United States, even in Canada, we use the word "line" when you're waiting to see someone at the bank. If you are in other parts of the world, specifically England, you can also call a line a "queue", so you get in the queue or get in line. Next, once it's your turn to, you know, do your business at the bank, you see a "bank teller". So, the name of the person who helps you at the bank is the teller. And after you see the bank teller, if you already have an account with the bank, you have to use your bank card and put in your "PIN". Your "PIN" is your personal identification number, your code, your password. Right? Now, once this is done, you're ready, the bank teller can see your account. Or maybe it's your first time and you didn't put in a PIN, there are different things you can do and ask for when you're at the bank. Number one, you can say: "Hi. I'd like to open an account", or "close an account". Now, again the two most common types of accounts at a bank are a checking account and a savings account. So your checking is your everyday spending. This is what you use your debit card for. Right? So, I'm just going to put "debit card" here. Your debit card is your bank card, and this is what you use to make payments when you go out to restaurants, movie theaters, etc. Okay, you can also transfer money when you are at the bank. So if you'd like to move some money from your checking account, for example, to one of your other accounts, such as a savings account or maybe a joint account that you have with your partner, husband, wife, etc., you can ask to do that. You can say: "Hi. I'd like to transfer $200 from my checking account to my savings account." And again, this is if you don't do online banking, which solves a lot of these issues. Now, instead of transferring money, you can also "deposit" money or "make a deposit". This means you are putting money into your accounts. So if you, you know, receive a check from the government, for example, or maybe your workplace still gives checks (it still happens, it does), you can deposit that check. And "deposit it" means put that money into your account. You can "withdraw". Now, "to withdraw" is to take out money. So, these two are really the most common verbs when you're talking about exchanging money with the bank, whether you're in the bank or at an ATM machine. So you deposit, which means you put money in; withdraw means you take money out. So you can withdraw or take out money. And the term we can also use is you can make a "withdrawal". And you'll see the "al" here, this means that, again, this is a noun in this case. The verb, there's no "al" at the end; it's just "withdraw". Withdraw money. You can "pay a bill". So, again, bills are our favourite things in the world, like pay for your electricity at your house, or your television, internet, etc. Now, again, this doesn't only have to be for those common things, because most people today, you have an automatic withdraw happens when you pay for a bill. But again, sometimes you get something where you have to go to the bank to pay the bill. If you get something from the Ministry of Transportation or something from the government, and it's unclear what you have to do to pay something online, you can go to the bank and you can pay that bill. Also, you can "exchange currency". So if you are travelling somewhere and you only have money from your country, you can change that money. And again, the name for "money" in this case is "currency", like the dollar is one type of currency, the yen is another type of currency. And you can ask the bank: "What's your rate?" because different places, exchange offices, banks, will have different rates for your currency. So, for example, the bank might say, if I'm travelling from Canada to the United States, they might say: "95 cents per dollar." Okay? So for every dollar that I have Canadian, I receive 95 cents American.

No Limit For Cash Withdrawal Conditions Apply

Middle class people were the most to suffer with demonetization of high currency notes and with limitation on cash withdrawal from their own bank accounts. Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh puzzled few valid questions recently in Parliament and one among them is why can't people withdraw their own money and why is this limitation. The limit was Rs 24K per week. How to Exchange old 500 & 1000 rupees notes || Currency Exchange Process in india

01:32
How to Exchange old 500 & 1000 rupees notes in india 1. Why is this scheme? The incidence of fake Indian currency notes in higher denomination has increased. For ordinary persons, the fake notes look similar to genuine notes, even though no security feature has been copied. The fake notes are used for antinational and illegal activities. High denomination notes have been misused by terrorists and for hoarding black money. India remains a cash based economy hence the circulation of Fake Indian Currency Notes continues to be a menace. In order to contain the rising incidence of fake notes and black money, the scheme to withdraw has been introduced. 2. What is this scheme? The legal tender character of the notes in denominations of ₹ 500 and Rs1000 stands withdrawn. In consequence thereof withdrawn old high denomination (OHD) notes cannot be used for transacting business and/or store of value for future usage. The OHD notes can be exchanged for value at any of the 19 offices of the Reserve Bank of India or at any of the bank branches or at any Head Post Office or Sub-Post Office. 3. How much value will I get? You will get value for the entire volume of notes tendered at the bank branches / RBI offices. 4. Can I get all in cash? No. You will get upto ₹4000 per person in cash irrespective of the size of tender and anything over and above that will be receivable by way of credit to bank account. 5. Why I cannot get the entire amount in cash when I have surrendered everything in cash? The Scheme of withdrawal of old high denomination(OHD) notes does not provide for it, given its objectives. 6. ₹4000 cash is insufficient for my need. What to do? You can use balances in bank accounts to pay for other requirements by cheque or through electronic means of payments such as Internet banking, mobile wallets, IMPS, credit/debit cards etc. 7. What if I don’t have any bank account? You can always open a bank account by approaching a bank branch with necessary documents required for fulfilling the KYC requirements. 8. What if, if I have only JDY account? A JDY account holder can avail the exchange facility subject to the caps and other laid down limits in accord with norms and procedures. 9. Where can I go to exchange the notes? The exchange facility is available at all Issue Offices of RBI and branches of commercial banks/RRBS/UCBs/State Co-op banks or at any Head Post Office or Sub-Post Office. 10. Need I go to my bank branch only? For exchange upto 4000 in cash you may go to any bank branch with valid identity proof. For exchange over 4000, which will be accorded through credit to Bank account only, you may go to the branch where you have an account or to any other branch of the same bank. In case you want to go to a branch of any other bank where you are not maintaining an account, you will have to furnish valid identity proof and bank account details required for electronic fund transfer to your account. 11. Can I go to any branch of my bank? Yes you can go to any branch of your bank. 12. Can I go to any branch of any other bank? Yes, you can go to any branch of any other bank. In that case you have to furnish valid identity proof for exchange in cash; both valid identity proof and bank account details will be required for electronic fund transfer in case the amount to be exchanged exceeds ₹4000. 15. Can I withdraw from ATM? Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes banned

29:07
Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes banned. Can I get all in cash?  No. You will get upto Rs 4000 per person in cash irrespective of the size of tender and anything over and above that will be receivable by way of credit to bank account.  Why I cannot get the entire amount in cash when I have surrendered everything in cash?  The Scheme of withdrawal of old high denomination(OHD) notes does not provide for it, given its objectives.  Rs 4000 cash is insufficient for my need. What to do?  You can use balances in bank accounts to pay for other requirements by cheque or through electronic means of payments such as Internet banking, mobile wallets, IMPS, credit/debit cards etc.  Also Read:  Black is the new white: Secondary real estate transactions to become transparent  What if I don't have any bank account?  You can always open a bank account by approaching a bank branch with necessary documents required for fulfilling the KYC requirements.  What if, if I have only JDY account?  A JDY account holder can avail the exchange facility subject to the caps and other laid down limits in accord with norms and procedures.  Where can I go to exchange the notes?  The exchange facility is available at all Issue Offices of RBI and branches of commercial banks/RRBS/UCBs/State Co-op banks or at any Head Post Office or Sub-Post Office.  Also Read:  Why PM Modi’s move will lead to disruption than economic benefit  Need I go to my bank branch only?  For exchange upto 4000 in cash you may go to any bank branch with valid identity proof.  For exchange over 4000, which will be accorded through credit to Bank account only, you may go to the branch where you have an account or to any other branch of the same bank.  In case you want to go to a branch of any other bank where you are not maintaining an account, you will have to furnish valid identity proof and bank account details required for electronic fund transfer to your account.  Can I go to any branch of my bank?  Yes you can go to any branch of your bank.  Can I go to any branch of any other bank?  Yes, you can go to any branch of any other bank. In that case you have to furnish valid identity proof for exchange in cash; both valid identity proof and bank account details will be required for electronic fund transfer in case the amount to be exchanged exceeds Rs 4000.  I have no account but my relative / friend has an account, can I get my notes exchanged into that account?  Yes, you can do that if the account holder relative/friend etc gives you permission in writing. While exchanging, you should provide to the bank, evidence of permission given by the account holder and your valid identity proof.  Should I go to bank personally or can I send the notes through my representative?  Personal visit to the branch is preferable. In case it is not possible for you to visit the branch you may send your representative with an express mandate i.e. a written authorisation. The representative should produce authority letter and his / her valid identity proof while tendering the notes.  Can I withdraw from ATM?  It may take a while for the banks to recalibrate their ATMs. Once the ATMs are functional, you can withdraw from ATMs upto a maximum of Rs.2,000/- per card per day upto 18th November, 2016. The limit will be raised to Rs.4000/- per day per card from 19th November 2016 onwards.  Can I withdraw cash against cheque?  Yes, you can withdraw cash against withdrawal slip or cheque subject to ceiling of Rs10,000/- in a day within an overall limit of Rs.20,000/- in a week (including withdrawals from ATMs) for the first fortnight i.e. upto 24th November 2016.  Can I deposit withdrawn notes through ATMs, Cash Deposit Machine or cash Recycler?  Yes, OHD notes can be deposited in Cash Deposits machines / Cash Recyclers.  Can I make use of electronic (NEFT/RTGS /IMPS/ Internet Banking / Mobile banking etc.) mode?  You can use NEFT/RTGS/IMPS/Internet Banking/Mobile Banking or any other electronic/ non-cash mode of payment.  How much time do I have to exchange the notes?  The scheme closes on 30th December 2016. A cheque (or check in American English) is a document[nb 1] that orders a bank to pay a specific amount of money from a person's account to the person in whose name the cheque has been issued. The person writing the cheque, the drawer, has a transaction banking account (often called a current, cheque, chequing or checking account) where their money is held. The drawer writes the various details including the monetary amount, date, and a payee on the cheque, and signs it, ordering their bank, known as the drawee, to pay that person or company the amount of money stated. Although forms of cheques have been in use since ancient times and at least since the 9th century, it was during the 20th century that cheques became a highly popular non-cash method for making payments and the usage of cheques peaked. By the second half of the 20th century, as cheque processing became automated, billions of cheques were issued annually; these volumes peaked in or around the early 1990s.[1] Since then cheque usage has fallen, being partly replaced by electronic payment systems. Deposit Cash Morethan 5000 Rupees In Your Account

02:55
How to deposit cash morethan rupees 5000 in your account.According to a finance ministry notification (read here), deposits of the demonetised notes above Rs 5,000 can be made only once until 30 December, the last date for banks to take deposits of old notes. However, there is no restrictions on depositing cash under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana, a black money declaration scheme under amended taxation laws.Tenders of SBNs (specified bank notes) in excess of Rs 5,000 into a bank account will be received for credit only once during the remaining period till December 30, 2016," the RBI said in a notification to banks posted on its website. The central bank has also said in such cases the notes will be credited to deposits "only after questioning tenderer, on record, in the presence of at least two officials of the bank, as to why this could not be deposited earlier and receiving a satisfactory explanation". "The explanation should be kept on record to facilitate an audit trail at a later stage. An appropriate flag also should be raised in CBS to that effect so that no more tenders are allowed," the RBI has said. However, banks can allow deposits of up to Rs 5,000 in value to be credited to bank accounts in the normal course until 30 December. Moreover, if you have made deposits smaller that Rs 5,000 your account, and if such deposits taken together on cumulative basis exceed Rs 5,000 then they may still have to face the questions from the banks officials. In such cases, you may not be allowed to make more deposits thereafter until December 30. Also deposits above Rs 5,000 shall be credited to only KYC compliant accounts and if the accounts are not KYC compliant the limit for deposits stays at RS 50,000. However, these rules are not applicable to deposits under the Taxation and Investment Regime for the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana.related tags Deposit Cash Morethan 5000 Rupees, deposit cash,5000,black money, demonetisation, money laundering, deposit, finance ministry, note ban,RBI,Demonetisation rule change, bank accounts, reserve bank of india, income tax notice, income tax, live news, breaking news, telugu news,ap news, india news online, modi, india, ramdev, narendra modi, fake notes, indian politics, parliament, congress, red handed, caught, indian black money, corruption, notes ban, supreme court. -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "income TAX RETURN filing advantages in telugu #ITR file చెయ్యడం వల్ల కలుగు ప్రయోజనాలు Latest News" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zz3uxBksXUw -~-~~-~~~-~~-~-
How to fill a cheque

02:39
HOW TO WRITE / how to fill A CHEQUE _____________________________________________________________ A cheque is an important bank document / instrument which is used to make payments and exchange funds between people and two different accounts. A cheque book is issued by a bank to a valid account holder along with the welcome kit, when a new account is opened. A cheque is a popular mode of banking transaction. A cheque book usually contains 5, 10 ,20 or 50 pages known as leaves. Cheque books these days already have the important details, such as the name of the Bank, branch address, IFSC code, Account holder’s name and Account Number printed on each leaf. This has made filling out a cheque, even more convenient. Click here to read more on basic elements of a cheque Follow these steps to correctly fill up a cheque. 1. Fill in the date. This is called the date of issue. Mention the correct date in the top right column. It is day, month and year in figures. A cheque once issued is valid for the next 3 months from the date of issue. Sometimes, a cheque may require a future date to be written on it. Such a cheque is called a postdated cheque (PDC). This means that the cheque cannot be cashed until that day. People tend to write a postdated cheque because when they do not want it to be encashed or deposited before a particular date. This is often used when one has to pay out a loan or a Monthly Instalment which will be paid out at a future date. 2. Write the name of the person/ company (Payee) you want to address the cheque to. Make sure you spell the name in the same way as it appears on the beneficiary’s account. If the name does not match, the cheque will not be valid for payment. 3. It is advisable to strike out ‘or bearer’ at the end of the ‘payee’ line. This will ensure that the cheque is encashed only to the person it is addressed to and not to just anyone who holds it. 4. Write the amount to be paid in words along the ‘Rupees’ column. Strike a line after you fill in the amount in order to prevent any alteration. 5. Rewrite the exact same amount in figures within the adjacent box as shown in the video. Say to pay a sum of 6000 Rupees, write six Thousand only (in words); 6000/- (in figures) in the box. 6. Put your signature above your name to authorize the transaction. This should be the same or closest likeness of the signature specimen you have submitted to your bank while opening your account otherwise the cheque will not be hounored by the bank. The name and account number of the holder is usually already printed on the cheque leaf. If it is not, carefully write your name in BLOCK letters and enter your Account Number in the designated box. 7. Sometimes, in order to secure a cheque, you may mark out two parallel lines with ‘Account Payee only’ written in the middle, on the top left corner of the cheque. This is called ‘Crossing out a Cheque’. This means your cheque will be paid into the account of the person being paid and not to the person holding the cheque for payment at the counter , this is helpful to track the cheque for unathorized uses . Follow this carefully to direct the amount transfer into the account of the right Payee. It is an important step to safeguard your money. 8. To cancel a cheque mark ‘CANCEL’ in bold across the face of the cheque and if possible, inform the bank officials or make a note of the cheque number and record it as cancelled. You should also mutilate the MICR code of your cancelled cheque or shred the whole cheque. You should additionally scratch out your signature on the cheque , by doing so , your cheque will be cancelled . Do remember that you cannot make any changes / corrections to a cheque that you have filled in. Any overwriting will render the cheque invalid , so avoid doing this as this will render this legal instrument unsable and invalid. Every chequebook has a record sheet where you can note down the details of each cheque you have issued. It is a good practice to keep a record by duly noting down the transaction details such as the payee name and his/her contact number, cheque number, date and amount. Such information are crucial should you require to stop a payment or to check if there is an unauthorized withdrawal. A cheque is valid only when filled in with correct details including the date, name of the payee, amount specified in words and figures and duly signed by the account holder. A cheque is a sensitive and an important document for your banking purposes, hence should be kept safe. You should sign a cheque only when you are ready to issue it. This is to prevent the unauthorized use of your cheques in the unfortunate event of losing your chequebook in which case, pre-signing your cheques would ease unauthorized usage of your cheques and would amount to carelessness on your part as a customer.
