When you sign your name, this is tangible proof you received the check should any questions arise. Real English Vocabulary: At the BANK

08:41
This is a practical vocabulary lesson about words we use at the bank. Banking has a set of specialized vocabulary, and you may be nervous to go to the bank in an English-speaking country. But knowing some useful words will make it easy and pleasant for you. In this lesson, I will teach you the meaning of "bank teller", "PIN", "investments", "account", "deposit", "withdraw", and many more terms associated with going to the bank. If you want to feel more confident when going to the bank and speaking in English, watch this lesson and complete the quiz. After that, you'll be in business! http://www.engvid.com/real-english-vocabulary-at-the-bank/ TRANSCRIPT Hi, everyone. I'm Alex. Thanks for clicking, and welcome to this lesson on "Bank Vocabulary". Today, we're going to talk about going to the bank, and the different things you can do, and the different verbs associated and nouns associated with this very common experience. So, first, when you enter the bank, you have to "get in line" or "get in the queue". Now, specifically, in the United States, even in Canada, we use the word "line" when you're waiting to see someone at the bank. If you are in other parts of the world, specifically England, you can also call a line a "queue", so you get in the queue or get in line. Next, once it's your turn to, you know, do your business at the bank, you see a "bank teller". So, the name of the person who helps you at the bank is the teller. And after you see the bank teller, if you already have an account with the bank, you have to use your bank card and put in your "PIN". Your "PIN" is your personal identification number, your code, your password. Right? Now, once this is done, you're ready, the bank teller can see your account. Or maybe it's your first time and you didn't put in a PIN, there are different things you can do and ask for when you're at the bank. Number one, you can say: "Hi. I'd like to open an account", or "close an account". Now, again the two most common types of accounts at a bank are a checking account and a savings account. So your checking is your everyday spending. This is what you use your debit card for. Right? So, I'm just going to put "debit card" here. Your debit card is your bank card, and this is what you use to make payments when you go out to restaurants, movie theaters, etc. Okay, you can also transfer money when you are at the bank. So if you'd like to move some money from your checking account, for example, to one of your other accounts, such as a savings account or maybe a joint account that you have with your partner, husband, wife, etc., you can ask to do that. You can say: "Hi. I'd like to transfer $200 from my checking account to my savings account." And again, this is if you don't do online banking, which solves a lot of these issues. Now, instead of transferring money, you can also "deposit" money or "make a deposit". This means you are putting money into your accounts. So if you, you know, receive a check from the government, for example, or maybe your workplace still gives checks (it still happens, it does), you can deposit that check. And "deposit it" means put that money into your account. You can "withdraw". Now, "to withdraw" is to take out money. So, these two are really the most common verbs when you're talking about exchanging money with the bank, whether you're in the bank or at an ATM machine. So you deposit, which means you put money in; withdraw means you take money out. So you can withdraw or take out money. And the term we can also use is you can make a "withdrawal". And you'll see the "al" here, this means that, again, this is a noun in this case. The verb, there's no "al" at the end; it's just "withdraw". Withdraw money. You can "pay a bill". So, again, bills are our favourite things in the world, like pay for your electricity at your house, or your television, internet, etc. Now, again, this doesn't only have to be for those common things, because most people today, you have an automatic withdraw happens when you pay for a bill. But again, sometimes you get something where you have to go to the bank to pay the bill. If you get something from the Ministry of Transportation or something from the government, and it's unclear what you have to do to pay something online, you can go to the bank and you can pay that bill. Also, you can "exchange currency". So if you are travelling somewhere and you only have money from your country, you can change that money. And again, the name for "money" in this case is "currency", like the dollar is one type of currency, the yen is another type of currency. And you can ask the bank: "What's your rate?" because different places, exchange offices, banks, will have different rates for your currency. So, for example, the bank might say, if I'm travelling from Canada to the United States, they might say: "95 cents per dollar." Okay? So for every dollar that I have Canadian, I receive 95 cents American.

A cheque (or check in American English) is a document[nb 1] that orders a bank to pay a specific amount of money from a person's account to the person in whose name the cheque has been issued. The person writing the cheque, the drawer, has a transaction banking account (often called a current, cheque, chequing or checking account) where their money is held. The drawer writes the various details including the monetary amount, date, and a payee on the cheque, and signs it, ordering their bank, known as the drawee, to pay that person or company the amount of money stated. Although forms of cheques have been in use since ancient times and at least since the 9th century, it was during the 20th century that cheques became a highly popular non-cash method for making payments and the usage of cheques peaked. By the second half of the 20th century, as cheque processing became automated, billions of cheques were issued annually; these volumes peaked in or around the early 1990s.[1] Since then cheque usage has fallen, being partly replaced by electronic payment systems. In an increasing number of countries cheques have either become a marginal Best Bank in the uk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sj1PwyfrehQ Top 5 Android SmartPhone in 2016 | Nokia Android Smartphone | Nokia C1 Android https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKt9FhjB8RU&hb=channel_stats Most Amazing Technology 2016 | New Technology In 2016 | Ultra Ever Dry liquid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vxjKv1eOWIY Biggest Airbus in The world 2016 | Biggest passenger Airplane In The World https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ics0mQPrdrM&hb=channel_stats Youtube Sabscribe https://https://goo.gl/qjVc0q Twitter https://twitter.com/TopBlaster1 Google Plus https://plus.google.com/u/0/ facebook https://www.facebook.com/topblaster/ Sabscribe https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNA1RrABjWCjs_gmazpaXQw -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "Most Iconic - Emmy Awards Of 2017 -Dresses of All Time" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3g77TO9bRvI -~-~~-~~~-~~-~-

How to fill a cheque

HOW TO WRITE / how to fill A CHEQUE _____________________________________________________________ A cheque is an important bank document / instrument which is used to make payments and exchange funds between people and two different accounts. A cheque book is issued by a bank to a valid account holder along with the welcome kit, when a new account is opened. A cheque is a popular mode of banking transaction. A cheque book usually contains 5, 10 ,20 or 50 pages known as leaves. Cheque books these days already have the important details, such as the name of the Bank, branch address, IFSC code, Account holder’s name and Account Number printed on each leaf. This has made filling out a cheque, even more convenient. Click here to read more on basic elements of a cheque Follow these steps to correctly fill up a cheque. 1. Fill in the date. This is called the date of issue. Mention the correct date in the top right column. It is day, month and year in figures. A cheque once issued is valid for the next 3 months from the date of issue. Sometimes, a cheque may require a future date to be written on it. Such a cheque is called a postdated cheque (PDC). This means that the cheque cannot be cashed until that day. People tend to write a postdated cheque because when they do not want it to be encashed or deposited before a particular date. This is often used when one has to pay out a loan or a Monthly Instalment which will be paid out at a future date. 2. Write the name of the person/ company (Payee) you want to address the cheque to. Make sure you spell the name in the same way as it appears on the beneficiary’s account. If the name does not match, the cheque will not be valid for payment. 3. It is advisable to strike out ‘or bearer’ at the end of the ‘payee’ line. This will ensure that the cheque is encashed only to the person it is addressed to and not to just anyone who holds it. 4. Write the amount to be paid in words along the ‘Rupees’ column. Strike a line after you fill in the amount in order to prevent any alteration. 5. Rewrite the exact same amount in figures within the adjacent box as shown in the video. Say to pay a sum of 6000 Rupees, write six Thousand only (in words); 6000/- (in figures) in the box. 6. Put your signature above your name to authorize the transaction. This should be the same or closest likeness of the signature specimen you have submitted to your bank while opening your account otherwise the cheque will not be hounored by the bank. The name and account number of the holder is usually already printed on the cheque leaf. If it is not, carefully write your name in BLOCK letters and enter your Account Number in the designated box. 7. Sometimes, in order to secure a cheque, you may mark out two parallel lines with ‘Account Payee only’ written in the middle, on the top left corner of the cheque. This is called ‘Crossing out a Cheque’. This means your cheque will be paid into the account of the person being paid and not to the person holding the cheque for payment at the counter , this is helpful to track the cheque for unathorized uses . Follow this carefully to direct the amount transfer into the account of the right Payee. It is an important step to safeguard your money. 8. To cancel a cheque mark ‘CANCEL’ in bold across the face of the cheque and if possible, inform the bank officials or make a note of the cheque number and record it as cancelled. You should also mutilate the MICR code of your cancelled cheque or shred the whole cheque. You should additionally scratch out your signature on the cheque , by doing so , your cheque will be cancelled . Do remember that you cannot make any changes / corrections to a cheque that you have filled in. Any overwriting will render the cheque invalid , so avoid doing this as this will render this legal instrument unsable and invalid. Every chequebook has a record sheet where you can note down the details of each cheque you have issued. It is a good practice to keep a record by duly noting down the transaction details such as the payee name and his/her contact number, cheque number, date and amount. Such information are crucial should you require to stop a payment or to check if there is an unauthorized withdrawal. A cheque is valid only when filled in with correct details including the date, name of the payee, amount specified in words and figures and duly signed by the account holder. A cheque is a sensitive and an important document for your banking purposes, hence should be kept safe. You should sign a cheque only when you are ready to issue it. This is to prevent the unauthorized use of your cheques in the unfortunate event of losing your chequebook in which case, pre-signing your cheques would ease unauthorized usage of your cheques and would amount to carelessness on your part as a customer. Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes banned

10:19
After the ban of five hundred and one thousand rupees, people are still in the chaotic situation because of lack of detailed knowledge. about replacing old currency of five hundred and one thousand rupees from the bank. they are going to banks without knowledge and suffering. we are trying to solve the problems in a detailed way for the people of India. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had issued rupees two thousand currency notes, the highest to come into circulation, even as some experts feel that high-value denominations should be discontinued to curb black money. A few questions are answered below about handling the new currency on Withdrawal of Legal Tender Character of the Old High Denomination (OHD) Bank Notes. Question one. Why is this scheme? The incidence of fake Indian currency notes in higher denomination has increased. For ordinary persons, the fake notes look similar to genuine notes, even though no security feature has been copied. The fake notes are used for anti-national and illegal activities. High denomination notes have been misused by terrorists and for hoarding black money. India remains a cash-based economy hence the circulation of Fake Indian Currency Notes continues to be a menace. In order to contain the rising incidence of fake notes and black money, the scheme to withdraw has been introduced. Question two. What is this scheme? The legal tender character of the notes in denominations of five hundred and one thousand stands withdrawn. In consequence thereof, withdrawn OHD notes cannot be used for transacting business and or store of value for future usage. The OHD notes can be exchanged for value at any of the nineteen offices of the RBI or at any of the bank branches or at any Head Post Office or Sub-Post Office. Question three. How much value will I get? You will get value for the entire volume of notes tendered at the bank branches or RBI offices. Question four. Can I get all in cash? No. You will get up to four thousand rupees per person in cash irrespective of the size of tender and anything over and above that will be receivable by way of credit to the bank account. Question 5. Why can I not get the entire amount of cash when I have surrendered everything in cash? The Scheme of withdrawal of OHD notes does not provide for it, given its objectives. Question 6. rupees four thousand cash is insufficient for my needs. What to do? You can use balances in bank accounts to pay for other requirements by cheque or through electronic means of payments such as Internet banking, mobile wallets, IMPS, credit or debit cards etc. Question 7. What if I don’t have any bank account? You can always open a bank account by approaching a bank branch with necessary documents required for fulfilling the KYC requirements. Question 8. What if, if I have only JDY account? A JDY account holder can avail the exchange facility subject to the caps and other laid down limits in accord with norms and procedures. Question 9. Where can I go to exchange the notes? The exchange facility is available at all Issue Offices of RBI and branches of commercial banks or RRBS or UCBs or State Co-op Banks or at any Head Post Office or Sub-Post Office. Question 10. Need I go to my bank branch only? For exchange up to four thousand in cash, you may go to any bank branch with valid identity proof. For exchange over four thousand, which will be accorded through credit to Bank account only, you may go to the branch where you have an account or to any other branch of the same bank. In case you want to go to a branch of any other bank where you are not maintaining an account, you will have to furnish valid identity proof and bank account details required for electronic fund transfer to your account. Question 11. Can I go to any branch of my bank? Yes, you can go to any branch of your bank. Question 12. Can I go to any branch of any other bank? Yes, you can go to any branch of any other bank. In that case, you have to furnish valid identity proof for exchange in cash; both valid identity proof and bank account details will be required for electronic fund transfer in case the amount to be exchanged exceeds four thousand . Question 13. I have no account but my relative or friend has an account, can I get my notes exchanged into that account? Yes, you can do that if the account holder relative or friend etc gives you permission in writing. While exchanging, you should provide to the bank, evidence of permission given by the account holder and your valid identity proof. Question 14. Should I go to the bank personally or can I send the notes through my representative? Personal visit to the branch is preferable. In case it is not possible for you to visit the branch you may send your representative with an express mandate i.e. a written authorisation. The representative should produce authority letter and his or her valid identity proof while tendering the notes.

Please watch: "GREAT INDIAN TATTI PRANKS" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nD47Sp3Ksiw -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- ₹1000 and ₹500 note ban scam by vvip in bank Notton ki boriyan bhar ke bank me 500 and 1000 ke note currency #500 and 1000 ke note ban. Government has banned Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes & released new Rs 500 & Rs 2000 rupee notes. Banks across the country put in extra hours to cope with the sudden cash crunch following the demonetisation. The government announced on Tuesday that it would apply indelible ink on people depositing and exchanging money at bank branches following the demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes. Narendra Modi, in one single 10 minute announcement, has ensured that all corrupt and anti-social elements in India using black money to further their cause, get a heart attack – because all the money they are holding illegally is now is equivalent to raddi (discarded useless paper). The master stroke played by Narendra Modi has potential to have massive positive ramifications on Indian Economy. India may truly be on the cusp of an era, where corruption may become obsolete (atleast at levels where it matters). 1. Why is this scheme introduced? The incidence of fake Indian currency notes in higher denomination has increased. For ordinary persons, the fake notes look similar to genuine notes, even though no security feature has been copied. The fake notes are used for antinational and illegal activities. High denomination notes have been misused by terrorists and for hoarding black money. India remains a cash based economy hence the circulation of Fake Indian Currency Notes continues to be a menace. In order to contain the rising incidence of fake notes and black money, the scheme to withdraw has been introduced. 2. What is this scheme? The legal tender character of the existing bank notes in denominations of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 issued by the Reserve bank of India till November 8, 2016 (hereinafter referred to as Specified Bank Notes) stands withdrawn. In consequence thereof these Bank Notes cannot be used for transacting business and/or store of value for future usage. These Bank Notes can be exchanged for value at any of the 19 offices of the Reserve Bank of India or at any of the bank branches or at any Head Post Office or Sub-Post Office. 3. How much value will I get? You will get value for the entire volume of notes tendered at the bank branches / RBI offices. 4. Can I get all in cash? No. You will get upto Rs. 4000 per person in cash irrespective of the size of tender and anything over and above that will be receivable by way of credit to bank account. 5. Why I cannot get the entire amount in cash when I have surrendered everything in cash? The Scheme does not provide for it, given its objectives. 6. Rs. 4000 cash is insufficient for my need. What to do? You can use balances in bank accounts to pay for other requirements by cheque or through electronic means of payments such as Internet banking, mobile wallets, IMPS, credit/debit cards etc. 7. What if I don’t have any bank account? You can always open a bank account by approaching a bank branch with necessary documents required for fulfilling the KYC requirements. 8. What if, if I have only Jan Dhan Yojana account? A JDY account holder can avail the exchange facility subject to the caps and other laid down limits in accord with norms and procedures. 9. Where can I go to exchange the notes? The exchange facility is available at all Issue Offices of RBI and branches of commercial banks/RRBS/UCBs/State Co-op banks or at any Head Post Office or Sub-Post Office. 10. Need I go to my bank branch only? For exchange upto 4000 in cash you may go to any bank branch with valid identity proof.
