Synchronized swimming

20:52
Synchronized swimming is a hybrid form of swimming, dance and gymnastics, consisting of swimmers performing a synchronized routine of elaborate moves in the water, accompanied by music. Athletes can perform solos and compete in most other competitions. Synchronized swimming demands advanced water skills, and requires great strength, endurance, flexibility, grace, artistry and precise timing, as well as exceptional breath control when upside down underwater. During lifts, swimmers are required not to touch the bottom - yet pull off an outstanding lift. This video is targeted to blind users. how to hold your breath for longer hypoxic swimming trainning

02:52
The main reason why you feel the urge to breath is because there is an excess of carbon dioxide in your lungs and blood. This is why you feel weak and sometime dizzy after you hold your breath for a long time. The other reason is the lack of oxygen. On this video we will see what you can do to help increase your lung capacity. Before you attempt to do any breath control, I’m going to remind you shallow water blackouts are more common than they should be, so please be careful. If you have a breathing condition such as asthma be extra careful and consult your doctor before doing any hypoxic training. Increasing your lung capacity happens naturally when you exercise on a regular basis. If you follow a workout program such as our Swordfish program you will increase the strength and function of your muscles. The more efficient they become the less oxygen the will require to swim and the less carbon dioxide the will produce. The heart is also a muscle and if you train it it will become stronger and you will be able to hold your breath for longer because of better circulation. It is also important to breath correctly when you exercise. Let’s do a little experiment right now. Prepare a stop watch. Take a breath and hold it for as long as you can and pause this video. Welcome back! write down your time. Now we will take a breath correctly before holding it again and beating your time. Diaphragm breathing is the way to go. When you push your diaphragm down you give your lungs more space to expand and thus you can inhale more oxygen. Try that right now and see how good it feels. Prepare the stop watch again. Stand up or sit up straight and inhale pushing your belly outwards first and then expanding your chest. Inhale as much air as you can, hold it and start the stop watch. Write down your times in the comment section below. Ok now that you know how to breath properly and you/ll exercise regularly what’s next. To increase lung capacity further, you need to get mentally and fiscally comfortable with excess carbon dioxide and lack of oxygen in your blood. This requires specific exercises that we will go over next week so make sure to subscribe and click the bell icon if you don’t want to miss it. Elite athletes boast specific, sport-suited skills which enable them to reign supreme in their chosen athletic endeavor. Sprinters require quick-twitch muscles and powerful legs that can propel them to top speeds, basketball players benefit from being tall and boasting major leaping ability and, yes, even professional eaters like Joey Chestnut must be able to jam an endless stream of hot dogs down their gullet. The point here is that every sport draws athletes who carry a skill set that helps them thrive within it. Sometimes, though, an athlete needs to look beyond the popular, mainstream options available on the sports landscape and find things that are a little more fringe in nature. Since a sport can essentially consist of anything involving even level competition between two or more parties, we are constantly brainstorming, conceptualizing and inventing new, quirky sporting endeavors. That dedication to innovation has produced inspired new athletic pursuits like snowboarding, but has also borne some head-scratching, hare-brained options as well. Sport is defined as “an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment.” Although these athletic pursuits are being labeled as sports, they don’t exactly fit the bill as far as that definition is concerned. Physical exertion? Rock, paper, scissors isn’t likely to make any body parts, short of maybe a fist, work up a sweat. Entertainment? Try telling that to the husband and wife pairings involved in the Wife Carrying Championships, who are interlocked as they navigate a rough, bumpy terrain. To be fair, let’s take a moment to acknowledge that, on the surface, just about any sport can seem awfully ludicrous. Football is essentially a game in which burly, 300-pound men battle over possession of a piece of oblong-shaped pigskin. Golf amounts to little more than an agonizing attempt to use a stick to move a small white ball closer and closer to a hole situated hundreds of yards away. Of course, we’re all prejudicially geared towards our own sports preferences. The only ‘true sports’ are the ones that we grow up following, with all others being pale imitations. Still, though, some activities that loosely fit within the broad category of sport can merit shakes of the head on their name, alone. Dwarf Tossing and Solo Synchronized Swimming stand as two of the more perplexing entries on the list, the former for its cruel and juvenile nature and the latter for its remarkable ability to be both moronic and oxymoronic. Beyond the names, these 10 sports are either unsafe, insensitive, poorly conceived or the product of some alcohol-induced stupidity. Or all of the above. Swimming Rules and Regulation

00:10
(Sorry I been really busy and havent posted in a long time) ~All Rights Reserved to the Owners~Posted on and owned by: ' http://www.buzzle.com/articles/swimming-rules.html Like any other sport, swimming also has certain rules to be followed. Starting from the first whistle of the referee till the last whistle, these swimming rules for children and adults participants have to be followed, else the participant can get disqualified. Below are some of the most popular swimming strokes that are included in all events or competitions, along with their USA swimming rules and regulations. Freestyle: In Freestyle events, the participant can swim any stroke. However, the most commonly used stroke is the crawl, which is characterized by the alternate stroking or movements of the arms over the water surface and an alternating (up-and-down) flutter kick. •On turns and finishes, some part of the swimmer has to touch the wall, though most swimmers do a flip turn. •Some part of the body should always remain above the water. •In conditions, wherein the swimmer begins the race and makes turns at the end of each lap, he/she is allowed to remain submerged for 15 meters. Backstroke: This stroke comprises alternate movements of the arms with a flutter kick while lying on the back. •On turns and finishes, the swimmer can rotate to the stomach and do a flip turn, ensuring that some part of his/her should touch the wall. •The entire distance is to be covered on the back. •At the start, both the feet should remain under the water and after starting, the swimmer can be underwater for 15 meters. Breaststroke: Breaststroke involves simultaneous movements of the arms on an uniform horizontal plane. The hands are pressed out in front of the breast in a heart shaped pattern and retrieved under or on the surface of the water. The kick is simultaneously performed in a circular motion just like the action of a frog. •On turns and finishes, the swimmer has to touch the wall with both hands at the same time, above or below the water surface. •There should be no asymmetrical arm movements and the swimmer must surface during each stroke. Butterfly: This stroke features a simultaneous recovery of the arms over the water along with a flapping dolphin kick, wherein the swimmer has to keep both legs together without fluttering or using the breaststroke kick. •Like the above strokes, the swimmer has to touch the wall with both hands simultaneously on the turns and finishes. •The kick should be vertical, with both legs moving together. •It is not permitted to roll onto the back, anytime and there should be no asymmetrical arm pull. Individual Medley: Also referred as I.M., the stoke includes all four strokes, starting with butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and then freestyle. •The swimmer has to swim in the correct order, i.e. back, breast, butterfly and freestyle. •The swimmer is not permitted to rotate more than 90 degrees before, touching on the change-over from back to breast. Relays: In this event, a group of four swimmers either swim freestyle or each swim one of the swimming strokes in the order of backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle (Medley relay). •The swimmer has to swim in the correct order, i.e. back, breast, butterfly and freestyle. •The next swimmer cannot leave until the previous swimmer touches

People Can't Get Enough Of This Chinese Swimmer's Reactions At The Rio Olympics

01:11
20-year-old Chinese swimmer Fu Yuanhui is taking internet by storm with her adorkable reactions at the Rio Olympics. During last Sunday’s semi-finals of the women’s 100m backstroke, she achieved a personal best and made it to the finals but she had no idea about it until a reporter told her. Yuanhui’s sincere reaction was so contagious, she became a source for endless memes and articles on social media. If that wasn’t enough, on Monday night, after competing in the finals, she was informed by the same journalist that she won a bronze medal and her unrestrained joy won everyone’s hearts. And it’s not just the Olympics getting to Yuanhui, she was just as excited during the 2015 FINA World Championships when her team won the relay. Nothing fake about her!

Bernard Hickey: Taxing times in the cloud Prime Minister John Key grappled this week with one of the toughest tasks any modern government has to deal with - how to tax the new economy that is evaporating into the stateless and tax-free cloud. Key talked about getting Apple to collect 2c GST on every $1.29 digital download. He was 17c short of the mark but still 2c more than for any online purchase. He talked about New Zealand requiring online stores to pay GST, even if the OECD can't get everyone to do so. Tax collectors throughout the world are scratching their heads over the issue, dreaming up ways to niggle the online giants to collect cash from every transaction. They want the likes of Amazon, Google, Apple, Netflix and UK online fashion retailer Asos to hand it on to governments to pay for the services that used to be paid for from GST, Paye and corporate taxes. It is the financial and diplomatic equivalent of herding cats into a synchronised swimming display for a live-streaming version of YouTube. The irony is that such a display would make Google a mountain of tax-free cash from the advertising. Many of these behemoths are hoping the killjoys will throw their hands in the air and go back to their chequebooks. Those consumers should think again. As hard as it is, Key was right to back Revenue Minister Todd McClay, who quietly told a conference of financial advisers in Queenstown last week he had asked officials to look at the unilateral moves some governments have taken to impose consumption taxes on physical and virtual online sales. South Africa changed its rules from June 1 last year to require suppliers of digital services to register for VAT (value-added tax) and collect the tax at the point of payment. Initial signs are positive. The question now is how long New Zealand and the rest of the connected world can wait for a negotiated and co-ordinated international solution. The economy is evaporating into the cloud as the services sector is dragged out of its offices and shops and sucked into the world of apps. Financial services, retailing, medical services, education, accounting, advertising and television are dissolving into bits and bytes. The Advertising Standards Authority provided figures this week showing $589 million was spent by New Zealand companies on online advertising last year, the first year it surpassed newspaper advertising ($484m). And it was only just behind TV advertising ($614m) and is up from $15m in 2004. TVNZ, TV3 and the newspaper companies diligently pay tax and collect GST, but most of that online advertising is being spent with Google, Facebook and a plethora of overseas sites that don't pay tax here. The numbers are just as big in retailing. The monthly BNZ/Marketview survey of online retailing estimated New Zealanders are buying $1.2 billion a year of clothes, shoes, music, hardware and electronics from overseas sites. It is growing at 14 per cent a year, almost quadruple the growth rate of sales from bricks-and-mortar stores here. Total online sales are still just under 7 per cent of total retail sales, but total online sales could grow $3.5b over the next decade. A jumbo jet full of clothes flies into Australia every week to be distributed from Asos warehouses there to front doors throughout Australasia. No GST is paid, given our tax-free threshold is $400 and Australia's is A$1000. The Retailers Association reckons the Government is missing out on $400m a year of GST. Treasury reports GST receipts have consistently under-performed forecasts in recent months. This was highlighted this week when Netflix said it would offer its service here from overseas and would not collect or pay GST. Spark was among the first to protest the unfairness of this, given its Lightbox service does charge GST. Sky TV will be the next to object. Key and Labour leader Andrew Little, who supported the move to charge GST on overseas purchases online, should be congratulated. The alternative is higher income taxes or fewer Government services.

Ing's Pool Performance "Wash"

03:18
Looming over the southern terminus of the 210 freeway in Pasadena are the soaring white columns and black glass walls of Ambassador Auditorium, the home of the evangelical Harvest Rock Church and the Pasadena Symphony. The auditorium was the centerpiece of the Modernist campus of Ambassador College, founded by radio evangelist Herbert W. Armstrong and his Worldwide Church of God in 1947. Today Maranatha High School occupies a number of the buildings on the campus, including its beautiful, once state-of-the-art pool, with south-facing floor to ceiling windows, stained glass accents, and vintage tiling details. Just outside, a railing and rusted chain guard a conspicuous stairwell that descends into the patio. Behind the locked door at the bottom is a bunker-like room where two plate glass windows provide an aquarium-style view of the diving well. These rooms were for swimming and diving coaches to observe their teams, but were largely replaced by underwater cameras. ing is the experimental collaboration between John Wood and Max Markowitz. They make improvised music within predetermined structures, and their performances often stretch over several hours. For Wash, the video posted above, Wood and Markowitz tested the pool to find its natural resonant frequencies and harmonies, and then channeled sound through speakers installed both above and below the surface. The audience was encouraged to swim and explore an underwater viewing room over the course of ing's slowly shifting three-hour performance. 4 Breathing exercises for smooth freestyle swimming. Progressions. Beginners

03:51
On this video I will show you 4 breathing exercises you can do to maintain a better, more horizontal position while swimming smooth easy freestyle. The first exercise is to Grab the wall with one hand, take a deep breath, put your face in the water and kick just enough to put your body in a horizontal position. Practice this exercise on both sides, breathing to the left and breathing to the right, until you feel comfortable with the movement and the breathing technique. The second progression is very similar but you will have a kick board instead of the wall and you will also do full strokes. Kick about 6 times and then take one breath and a stroke. The third exercise is the same as the second but without a kick board. Usually swimmers have a preferred breathing side but it is of good practice to learn how to breathe well from both sides. The fourth exercise is simpler. Just kick with your arms down and move your head to the side to take a breath. There is no arms’ movement. Focus on maintaining the hips high on the surface of the water and take quick breaths the same way you practice on the other three exercises. Now you are ready to do the whole thing! Swim one length of the pool on the smoothest freestyle you can master, while taking short quick breaths. Try breathing every 2 stroke, every 3 stroke and every 4 strokes. Notice the difference. Stop at the other end, control your breathing and do it again. Rio’s Olympic Pool Turns Green

00:48
Odd Andersen/AFP/Getty Add one more item to the long list of problems plaguing Rio’s Summer Olympics: the diving pool has turned green. The strange phenomenon is visible to anyone viewing the swimming and diving pools, which sit next to each other like a before-and-after picture. While the swimming pool has maintained its healthy blue hue, the diving pool has turned a viscous green, leading Britain’s synchronized diver Tonia Couch to complain she couldn’t even see her partner under water. Experts and journalists have posited theories to explain the greenness—is it from copper ions? http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/thedailybeast/articles/~3/whc3gHVugTk/watch-rio-s-olympic-pool-has-turned-green.html http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com

Swimming Pool Tips YouTube Channel List of Resources: Videos, Ebook, Patreon, Website and More!

01:06
In this video I go over some of the resources that can be found along with my YouTube Channel Videos. I have over 650 videos and that can be a daunting task if your looking for a particular problem. To help bring everything together I have created an eBook filled with articles and links. This video is just a highlight of the resources, so I will go into detail here in this article. My eBook “Swimming Pool Essential Guide V1.6” brings everything together for you in one place. It is an amazing resource for you if you are a homeowner caring for your own pool or if you are pool service professional. What makes this eBook unique is that it has over 500 video links throughout. I dubbed it a vBook because it has so many video links. The eBook is organized by sections so that you can easily find what you are looking for. I picked a specific eBook format that has a “search” box so that you can also simply type in a word like “green pool” and all of the pages related to that will pop up for you. It is in a Flip Book format, but I can also send you a PDF downloadable version once you place your order. And the book is sold for a very low price of just $9.99. I use a secure Paypal checkout to make the transaction safe and quick for you. To order your copy of my eBook today: https://www.swimmingpoollearning.com/swimming-pool-care-ebook Along with the eBook, if you have been a Subscriber of my YouTube Channel you know I have large library of videos. I do product reviews, green pool clean-up videos, water balancing and chemistry, repairs and how-to and just about anything you need for your pool care can be found on my YouTube Channel. I offer all of my videos and expertise for FREE so that you can get the most enjoyment out of your pool ownership experience. If you are new to the pool service business or just need General Liability Insurance, I have formed a group on Patreon to connect one on one with you. As a homeowner you are welcome to join at the $3.00 or $5.00 a month level and I would love and appreciate your support! For those in the industry at the $10 or $20 a month level you can text me directly or call me on the phone. At both these levels you will also get Liability Insurance at a discounted rate of $50 per month with no application fee. At the $5, $10 & $20 levels on Patreon you also get a FREE copy of my eBook – just my way of saying thanks for joining. To join me on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/user?u=4251655 One other resource that I have created is my website, Swimming Pool Learning.com. On my website you can find articles as well as videos, links to purchase products and a listing of pool service companies that I endorse. It is a great resource and please visit my website today: https://www.swimmingpoollearning.com/ I don't sell banner ads on my website and everyone listed there is listed at no charge. This keeps me as unbiased as possible. If someone paid me every month I would be inclined to push their product over another product. I don't sell or ship anything directly. I do have Amazon.com links on my site and I do get a small percentage from a sale. I don't push products on you and if you want to buy something I am happy to provide an easy to access link. I also post on Facebook, Twitter and write a new Blog Article at least once a week. Please look for me on these sites also: Follow Me: Google +: https://plus.google.com/+MrDgvb1/posts Blogger: http://poolmandave.blogspot.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Youtube-Mrdgvb1/381257741926763?ref=hl Twitter: https://twitter.com/Mrdgvb1 I hope you find everything that I do helpful to you. Why women’s ice hockey has a higher concussion rate than football

06:37
When college athletes play the same sport, women report concussions more often than men. Watch our other skating videos, featuring Mirai Nagasu and Adam Rippon: http://bit.ly/2oGrA7N Subscribe to our channel! http://goo.gl/0bsAjO In college, women’s hockey players are reporting concussions at a higher rate than male hockey players. In fact, female hockey players are reporting a higher concussion rate than nearly all sports sanctioned by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). In several studies, female hockey players have reported concussions more often than men’s college football, and at a rate that is comparable to men’s college wrestling and men’s college ice hockey. Compared to sports like women’s tennis or women’s basketball, hockey is faster, played on harder surfaces, and involves more collisions, which partly explains the high rate of concussions but doesn’t account for the fact that female athletes are reporting more concussions than male athletes who also play hockey. In fact, several surveys have demonstrated that, besides hockey, female athletes consistently report a higher concussion rate than male athletes playing the same gender comparable sport (e.g basketball, soccer, softball/baseball). The reasons why are unclear, but this video highlights some of the plausible factors, including: gender bias, reporting bias, differences in style of play (for example, body checking is allowed in men’s hockey and is illegal in women’s hockey), hormonal differences (progesterone is of particular interest to researchers), neck strength, and differences in the structure of nerve fibers called axons. To help understand how these factors might influence the concussion rates, this video features interviews with University of North Carolina researcher Zachary Kerr and retired US Women’s Hockey player Josephine Pucci, who ended her career following several concussions. To hear her story of how she came back to win a 2014 Olympic Silver Medal while playing on the Harvard Women’s team, make sure to watch the video above. Sea otters underwater at Monterey Bay Aquarium | 潜るラッコ@モントレーベイ水族館

All the sea otters of the Monterey Bay Aquarium are not just for exhibit - they are working mothers to teach rescued orphaned pups life skills like swimming, grooming, diving and uses of tools so that the pups can be released into the wild. MBA's sea otter exhibit tank is about 4m depth. Being able to dive deep keeps these sea otters 'wild' enough as surrogate mothers. Sea Otter Channel provides wild sea otter videos, photos and translation of articles hoping that many people become more interested in sea otter and marine conservation. All earnings from ads are going to sea otter conservation program. © 2014 らっこちゃんねる | Sea Otter Channel

(Bud) Selig announced on January 19, 2000, that the 30 Major League Club owners voted unanimously to centralize all of Baseball's Internet operations into an independent technology company. Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM) was formed and charged with developing, building and managing the most comprehensive baseball experience available on the Internet. In August 2002, MLB.com streamed the first-ever live full length MLB game over the Internet when the Texas Rangers and New York Yankees faced off at Yankee Stadium. Since that time, millions of baseball fans around the world have subscribed to MLB.TV, the live video streaming product that airs every game in HD to nearly 400 different devices. MLB.com also provides an array of mobile apps for fans to choose from, including At Bat, the highest-grossing iOS sports app of all-time. MLB.com also provides fans with a stable of Club beat reporters and award-winning national columnists, the largest contingent of baseball reporters under one roof, that deliver over 100 original articles every day. MLB.com also offers extensive historical information and footage, online ticket sales, official baseball merchandise, authenticated memorabilia and collectibles and fantasy games. Major League Baseball consists of 30 teams split between the American and National Leagues. The American League consists of the following teams: Baltimore Orioles; Boston Red Sox; Chicago White Sox; Cleveland Indians; Detroit Tigers; Houston Astros; Kansas City Royals; Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim; Minnesota Twins; New York Yankees; Oakland Athletics; Seattle Mariners; Tampa Bay Rays; Texas Rangers; and Toronto Blue Jays.
