If you are ONLY eating one a day with your other meals, you have options. 1. Cut the recipe in half, or 2. Put 4 meals in the freezer and 3 meals in the fridge. 3. Take one out the night before and keep in the fridge to thaw. 4. Store the yogurt sauce in the fridge and add on after you've reheated. Add the chicken and carrots and broccoli and 2 tbsp water and cover until almost tender, about 6-8 minutes. uncover and add soy sauce mixed with honey add black pepper and Stir to combine. 2 Veggie stir fry 210 calories (1 serving) Ingredients 3 oz green beans salt 1 garlic 1 tsp olive oil 1/4 medium yellow onion 2 medium carrots, cut into julienne strips 2 tbsp water 3 oz broccoli 1/4 cup peas 1 tsp reduced sodium soy sauce 1 tsp honey black pepper Preparation Bring a saucepan of water to the boil and season with salt. Next, add in the trimmed green beans and boil for 3 to 4 minutes or until al dente or slightly crunchy. Immediately remove them form the pot and strain them. Set aside. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. add garlic and onion,stirring constantly. Add carrots broccoli and 2 tbsp water and cover until tender, about 6-8 minutes. uncover and add boiled green beans, peas, soy sauce mixed with honey and black pepper. Cook until vegetables are tender but still crisp. 3 Chickpea, spinach and egg 280 calories (1 serving) Ingredients 1 egg boiled 1 garlic 1 tsp olive oil 1 medium tomato 1/4 tsp ground cumin 1/4 tsp curry powder salt and black pepper 3 oz chickpeas, cooked 1 tsp lemon juice 1 tbsp parsley 2 oz spinach Preparation Boil the egg for 12 minutes, or until done to your liking. When cool enough to handle, shell, halve and set aside. Meanwhile, heat the oil in a large frying pan over a low heat. Add garlic, chopped tomato, cumin, curry powder, salt and black pepper and stir-fry for 1 minute. Add chickpeas, lemon juice and cook for 6–8 minutes, or until reduced and thickened, stirring often. Pour the dressing over the carrots and toss to coat. 5 Tuna pasta salad recipe 320 calories (1 serving) Ingredients 1.5 oz fusilli pasta 1/2 medium cucumber 1/4 medium red bell pepper 1 medium green onion 3 oz tuna 1/4 cup peas 1 tsp olive oil 1 tsp balsamic vinegar 1 tsp honey salt and black pepper Preparation cook pasta according to package directions and set a side. Here’s what school lunches around the world look like. Meals for kids in different countries are truly amazing and surprising! Every country has its standards for school meals. Some schools offer convenience food and snacks for lunch, and some cook set meals for students. What do you think the most popular ingredients of school lunches are? Well, how about octopus, kimchi, or chili? Are you curious what kids eat in South Korea? What they prefer in Turkey? Some of those lunches are quite unusual. If it is a school lunch, it is usually soup, fish or meat with a side dish of rice or buckwheat, and compote. - Hungary is famous for its big portions in restaurants and cafes. Same goes for school lunches. Children have several courses, with, for example, noodle soup, baked beans with chicken, and nuts for dessert. - Israel schools have the policy of a healthy diet. The government banned fatty and sugary things from school lunches. But the thing is that children mostly bring their meals from home. - 60-70% of children in Colombia are given free nutritious lunches. Students of state schools eat one hot meal a day. Their typical meal consists of soup, rice or pasta, salad, meat, and fruit juice. - Before lunch, in the morning, children get snacks (crackers, breadsticks, fresh fruit, or homemade cookies). For lunch they get two courses: a first course is often pasta or rice with seafood or vegetables, a second course - fish, meat, or cheese. - Authorities in Australia fight against children's obesity. That's why products rich in sugar, salt, and fat are forced out of school menu. Japanese Food is awesome, and the overall dining experience is just as fun. If you are looking for places to eat in Tokyo, here are five great Japanese food experiences that I love while living in Tokyo. 1. Japanese Grill (Robata) - You sit around a few men who cook all of the meat and vegetables right in front of you on a grill. You just point to what you want and they grab it with their giant wooden spatulas. 2. Ramen - My favorite Japanese food, and perhaps the most well recognized Japanese dish apart from sushi. There are hundreds of places to choose from in Tokyo, each with their own rendition of the classic. One spot where you can get a large variety of options is on "Ramen Street" in the lower level of Tokyo Station. 3. Yakitori - Meat and veggies on sticks, cooked over a similar grill as the Robata, Yakitori is a favorite among Tokyo residents because it's fast and goes great with beer. The most famous area for Yakitori in Tokyo is down "Memory Lane" or "Piss Alley" just outside the Shinjuku Train Station. 4. Chanko Nabe - The ultimate in gluttony for a normal civilian, but a necessary bulking strategy for up-and-coming sumo wresters in the Ryogoku neighborhood of Tokyo. There are many different versions of this massive stew, and they are all aggressive and delicious. 5. Conveyor Belt Sushi - As I mention in the video, there are a million different ways sushi is served in Tokyo. One of the most fun methods is by way of the conveyor belt sushi. *Bonus* - Convenient stores such as FamilyMart, Lawson's, and 7 Eleven are a major part of Japanese Food culture in Tokyo. So one of the ideas I like to do when I visit any destination is eat a typical breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Japanese food is amazing, and in Tokyo you have so many options of what to eat, so on this Japanese food tour, I decided to eat a mix of typical and authentic Japanese food. Breakfast at Shokudo diner 東新宿食堂 Japanese breakfast can be very regional in Japan, but a good typical Japanese breakfast is a bowl of rice, miso soup, and often a piece of grilled fish like a mackerel. Just down the road from where I was staying in Tokyo, we went to the local diner for some Japanese breakfast. Price - 1,690 JPY ($15.29) for everything on my tray Lunch at Sanshuya 三州屋 This is one of the best local Japanese restaurants I’ve ever been to in Tokyo. Thank you to Yuko for this recommendation. It’s a small hole-in-the-wall restaurant that serves incredibly fresh fish and daily specials. Amazing little restaurant in Ginza, for best Japanese food. Total price - 3,300 JPY ($29.87) for 2 Dinner at Shibuya Morimoto Yakitori There are so many different Japanese food you can choose to eat for dinner, but one of the common businessman meals is an afterwork stop at an izakaya (a Japanese pub). One type of izakaya is a yakitori restaurant, serving grilled chicken. I went to a restaurant called Shibuya Morimoto, a wonderful chicken heaven and ordered the omakase set. The chicken sashimi was actually incredible! Total price - 9,001 JPY ($81.45) for 2 So that wraps up this authentic Japanese food tour of breakfast, lunch, and dinner in Tokyo. There are endless options, combinations, and you can do this with just a few ingredients. I usually do my grocery shopping on weekends so on Sunday I can spend time in the kitchen preparing everything for the week. During the week it's so easy to grab food or make a meal in under five minutes! Of course this isn't all I consumer during the week, I snack a lot and I eat lots of other things too, but this really helps me stay on top of what I put into my body. One of the most affordable airlines that has plenty of flights connecting Asia and Europe is Emirates Airlines. Emirates has consistently been rated as one of the best airlines in the world. We flew economy class, and thanks to baby Micah we had pretty good seats in the front with nice legroom. We first flew from Bangkok to Dubai, with a layover at Dubai International Airport, and then on from Dubai to Bangkok. The food on Emirates economy class is pretty decent. It doesn't have that real artificial taste you get on some airplane food. Staff was ok, but not amazing on our flight. But overall, very nice airplanes, and good flight all the way to Munich. Thai street food lunch tour in Silom, Bangkok! I met up with my friend Drew Binsky (check out his YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/thehungrypartier and Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/drewbinsky/) to go on a lunch-rush street food tour of Silom. Silom is one of the main financial business districts of Bangkok, it’s a downtown of Bangkok. Everyday at lunch floods of people from their offices come down for lunch and enjoy delicious street food. What I love so much about Silom is because it has such a vibrant and busy lunchtime rush, and that’s part of the fun. We arrived a little early, to get a couple lunches in before the main lunch. The highlight of this Thai street food tour for me was Kuay Teow Khae (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวแคะ (โคตร โคตร) คอนแวนต์), one of the most popular lunch noodles shops in Bangkok! Ok, here’s all the food we ate in this tour: Khao Man Gai Ban Deed Kim (ข้าวมันไก่บัญฑิตคิม) - If you’ve ever gotten off the BTS at Sala Daeng station and walked down Soi Convent, you’ve probably walked right by this stall. And I’ve walked past it hundreds of times, but this was actually my first time to stop and eat there. They are well known in Bangkok for their khao man gai (ข้าวมันไก่), Thai style Hainanese chicken and rice. We each ordered a plate to get things started. Overall, very good, light fluffy rice with just the right amount if chicken oil, bouncy chicken, and fermented soybean sauce. Price - 50 THB ($1.52) Yee Jay (ยีเจ ก๋วยเตี๋ยวเนื้อตุ๋น-หมูตุ๋น) - Next we took a little walk through Silom, Downtown Bangkok, to another popular beef noodle shop. Again, it was my first time to eat here. We arrived before the main lunch rush, but at 11 am they were already preparing for the crowds with big amounts of meat waiting to be served. We had bowls of everything (เกาเหลาทุกอย่าง), including organs and braised beef. Their soup was fragrant with Chinese spices and the aroma of beef. It’s not the best bowl of braised beef soup in Bangkok, but it’s decent. Price - 70 THB ($2.14) Kuay Teow Khae (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวแคะ (โคตร โคตร) คอนแวนต์) - Finally for the main lunch, we went to one of the most popular Thai street food noodle stalls in Silom. For lunch everyday they are packed, every single seat, and if you arrive at a time like when we did, you have to wait to get a seat - sometimes 30 minutes or more. They have a few different options, but we all ordered their signature special bowl (เส้นโซบะยำแห้ง), including egg noodles topped with everything. This is one of the better single bowls of noodles in Bangkok in my opinion. Price - 60 THB ($1.83) Khanom Tokyo (ขนมโตเกียว (ลุงโตเกียว) - Lastly, to end this Thai street food tour in Bangkok, we were just walking past with Uncle Tokyo called us over to try his snacks. He makes both savory (with a hot dog) and sweet versions, filled with a variety of different custards. Drew and I had to try the hot dog, mostly just for fun… I’ll be honest, not a big fan of Thai hot dogs, but the sweet ones were great. And Uncle Tokyo is such a nice friendly man. If you are on Soi Convent in Silom around lunchtime, go say hi to him! Price - 4 for 10 THB ($0.30) And that completes this Thai street food tour in Silom, hope you enjoyed it! WHAT I MADE: Protein Burgers (Bun-less Turkey Burgers In Lettuce Wedges) INGREDIENTS: PROTEIN: Organic Ground Turkey GREENS: Organic Iceberg Lettuce TOPPINGS: Organic Onions + Ketchup WHAT I COOKED WITH: FATS: Avocado Oil (high smoking point) SPICES: Organic Garlic, Crushed Red & Black Pepper, Pink Himalayan Sea-Salt, Onion Powder, Organic Turmeric, Organic Ketchup COOKING TIPS: 1.) For those not on a diet for fat-loss, add a sunny-side up egg, cheese, tomatoes, onions, pickles, or whatever you're favorite toppings are for turkey burgers to add calories add calories to this meal. Just make sure they are healthy. You can also substitute the iceberg lettuce for kale, or any type of green that can serve as a "bun". 2.) Ingredients for Paneer Lababdar Paneer 250 gm cut paneer into cubes and soak it in hot water for 10 mins. or boil it in water for 5 mins. or u can fry little then soak in water For Paneer Lababdar gravy 1 big spoon oil 1 tsp Black Cumin Seeds 1 1/1 chopped tomatoes 1 big chopped onion 2 green chillies chopped gringer paste cooked tomato paste 1/4 th tsp haldi 1 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder salt to taste 1/4 th cup kaju and paneer paste 1 tsp dhaniya powder 1/2 tsp chole masala powder 3 tbsp tomato ketchup 1/4 th cup cooked tomato paste 1/4th cup water 1 tsp kasoori methi 2 tbsp Butter 1/4 th cup Fresh coriander 1/2 tsp kitchen king masala 1/4th tsp sambhar masala 1/4 tsp pav bhaji masala 1/4th cup grated paneer 2 tbsp water 1/4th cup cream 1 big chunks of fresh tomato cook till oil floats and watch video carefully to check step by step procedure. What Happened When I Ate Nothing But "Healthy" Fast Food For A Week

Customers have been moving towards places with healthier menus, and many traditional chains are adding items to address this. I tried eating these "healthy" fast foods for an entire week. I had every meal at McDonald's, Wendy's, Taco Bell, Burger King, Subway, Dunkin' Donuts or Chick-fil-A. But hidden in between the burgers and tacos are some "healthy" options: salads, grilled chicken, yogurts, oatmeal, power burritos. Doesn't sound too bad, right? I spent a week eating nothing but these "healthy" fast foods and I lost six-and-a-half pounds. But even though I lost about a pound a day, it didn't really go well. I live in New York City, a place with every possible food you could want. Eating healthy here, it's a breeze. But across America, there are more than 200,000 fast food joints, and they're bringing in more than $200 billion a year in sales. And no matter where you go, you're never far from a place like McDonald's or Taco Bell. But in recent years, consumers want better, healthier choices, and the traditional fast food places have been losing customers to those fast casual healthy options. The rules were pretty simple: Eat every major meal at a national fast food chain and stick to the healthy options. McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King, Taco Bell, Dunkin' Donuts, Subway, and Chick-fil-A; nothing but them for a week. Yeah, I lost almost seven pounds, but let's take a close look at the numbers. On a normal day, I'm eating around 2,500 calories. An adult man should be having about 2,400 to 2,600 calories a day. But on this fast food plan, my calories plummeted. Most of these meals came in under 400 calories, and that was one of my first problems. I'd eat and just a couple hours later, I was starving. And I had days when I didn't eat more than 1,000 calories. Now, some of these meals were really good. My favorite was this grilled chicken market salad from Chick-fil-A. It had blueberries, strawberries, apples; it was delicious and it was actually healthy. However, a lot of the other salads from Burger King, McDonald's, and Wendy's were loaded with salt, often more than 50% of what I needed for the entire day, from a salad. In fact, excess salt was a problem the entire week. I thought I had hit the jackpot with Taco Bell's al Fresco menu. They take off all the cheese and mayo-based sauces and replace it with lettuce and pico de gallo. One night I got tacos, another night I got a power cantina burrito, and these were meals with more protein than usual. So, I felt like I was getting enough food. They were good, too good. It was all salt. In fact, just one burrito had almost as much salt as I needed in just one day. The American Heart Association says we should limit our sodium to about 2,300 milligrams a day, but the ideal is closer to 1,500 milligrams a day, especially for a person like me with high blood pressure. But if you look at my sodium intake, it was high every day, yet I was barely getting the calories I needed. If I wanted to keep the sodium down, I was starving. If I wanted to feel full, salt through the roof. You see, that's an issue in the fast food industry. Wendy's even acknowledges on their website that there's going to be a trade-off between salt and flavor. It was weird. I didn't feel healthy at all throughout the week, even though I was eating healthy foods and losing weight. And on the last day, I had this massive headache that was just infuriating. These places, they're supposed to be tasty, cheap, and convenient. But it wasn't cheap. Every healthy option was expensive, but left me hungry. For eight grilled nuggets and this tiny kale salad at Chick-fil-A, $12. For the power Mediterranean salad at Wendy's, it was almost $8, yet I could get a cheeseburger, nuggets, fries, and a soda for only $4. That brings me to another problem. Walk into McDonald's and you get hit with that sweet, sweet french fry smell, and I had to get a salad. Would I recommend this to anyone? Nope, unless you're stuck on the road with no other options. Though there was a bright spot: breakfast at Subway. They have these egg-white-and-cheese sandwiches, which I got covered in spinach and peppers. And let me tell you, it was good. But after all this, I just want a cheeseburger.

You should break your fast with high GI carbs but avoid combining these with fatty foods - fat slows down transit through the stomach, so eating fat post fast may slow the digestion and absorption of carbs.
