Building Bitcoin Software From Source Code
Presentation Slides: http://averageradical.github.io/compile/#/ Send Tips directly to KevG @ bitcoin:1QDEf7xr33aHGPZUHg9WHQkyGLcYKXcv4i Much of the software associated with Bitcoin is open source, i.e. wallets, address generators, mining software, operating systems... Open source means the raw computer code is publicly available for scrutiny. Open source software is usually considered less buggy and more secure. One common obstacle with open source software is transforming it from the raw computer code to a program that runs on your phone, tablet, laptop, desktop. This process is called 'building from source'. This presentation seeks to demonstrate how to build from source several useful applications, with the ability to run these programs on multiple operating systems. Additionally, we will dive into the source code to make small changes prior to building, i.e. background color, edit text, etc... No software development experience necessary.

There are several types of wallets that provide different ways to store and access your digital currency. Wallets can be broken down into three distinct categories – software, hardware, and paper. Software wallets can be a desktop, mobile or online. Desktop: wallets are downloaded and installed on a PC or laptop. They are only accessible from the single computer in which they are downloaded. Desktop wallets offer one of the highest levels of security however if your computer is hacked or gets a virus there is the possibility that you may lose all your funds. Online: wallets run on the cloud and are accessible from any computing device in any location. While they are more convenient to access, online wallets store your private keys online and are controlled by a third party which makes them more vulnerable to hacking attacks and theft. Mobile: wallets run on an app on your phone and are useful because they can be used anywhere including retail stores. Mobile wallets are usually much smaller and simpler than desktop wallets because of the limited space available on a mobile. Hardware: wallets differ from software wallets in that they store a user’s private keys on a hardware device like a USB. Although hardware wallets make transactions online, they are stored offline which delivers increased security. Hardware wallets can be compatible with several web interfaces and can support different currencies; it just depends on which one you decide to use. What’s more, making a transaction is easy. Users simply plug in their device to any internet enabled computer or device, enter a pin, send currency and confirm. Hardware wallets make it possible to easily transact while also keeping your money offline and away from danger. Paper: wallets are easy to use and provide a very high level of security. While the term paper wallet can simply refer to a physical copy or printout of your public and private keys, it can also refer to a piece of software that is used to securely generate a pair of keys which are then printed. Using a paper wallet is relatively straightforward. Transferring Bitcoin or any other currency to your paper wallet is accomplished by the transfer of funds from your software wallet to the public address shown on your paper wallet. Alternatively, if you want to withdraw or spend currency, all you need to do is transfer funds from your paper wallet to your software wallet. This process, often referred to as ‘sweeping,’ can either be done manually by entering your private keys or by scanning the QR code on the paper wallet. What Is A Bitcoin Wallet? - The Best Explanation EVER
This is a free sample lesson from 'The Secrets Of The Bitcoin Triangle' course, where you will 'Discover The 21 Fast Track Ways To Make And Save With Bitcoin (Starting From Scratch)'. You can sign up for the full course at: https://cryptoversity.krtra.com/t/r54RTiOWLIZa A Bitcoin wallet is a piece of software you use to communicate with the Bitcoin network and tell it when you want to send and receive transactions. The best way to understand a Bitcoin wallet is by comparing it to email. Once you have setup an email address you need some kind of software to allow you to send and receive emails to that address. Now this software may be an app on your phone, it may be an app on your laptop or it could even be an app you log into online. With email, you enter the username and password for your email address into the app and that’s how the Internet knows it’s really you that is sending and receive emails to that address. Now of course you tell everyone your email address and you have to do that in order for anyone to send you a message. But just because someone knows your email address, that doesn’t allow them to send email from that address. If they could that would be bad because then they could send emails pretending to be you and cause all kinds of problems. In order to be allowed to send email from a particular email address, you have to know the password. If someone finds out your email password then there’s nothing stopping them from logging in to your email app and sending messages. This is very similar to how a Bitcoin wallet works. Every Bitcoin account has two elements to it. One is called your public address, which is like your email address, and one is called your private key, which is like your password. So just like email, you can give anyone your Bitcoin public address and then anyone, anywhere in the world can send you some Bitcoin. They don’t need to know anything about you. All they need is that public address and they can send money to you. Your Bitcoin private key on the other hand is the one thing you must protect. It’s called your private key for a reason because you should never reveal this to anyone. If someone gets your email password, that’s bad because they can start sending emails from your address, but that’s not quite as bad as someone getting your Bitcoin private key because then they can steal all of your Bitcoins by sending them somewhere else. And just like email, once a Bitcoin transaction has been sent, it’s a one way trip. The only way to get it back would be for the person you sent it to to voluntarily send it back. Bitcoin literally works like digital cash. Once you’ve handed it over, the Bitcoin belongs to that other person. And the same goes for when you receive Bitcoin. Once someone sends it to you, it’s yours and no one can take it from you. The only way they could do that is if they knew your private key. And of course now you know never to give this to anyone.

How to mine bitcoin on iPhone ?
AppValley: https://appvalley.vip/ This is a app with which you can mine bitcoins at a speed depending upon the processor . Now you can become a miner by mining crypto currency on your iphone . Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency and worldwide payment system.[8]:3 It is the first decentralized digital currency, as the system works without a central bank or single administrator.[8]:1[9] The network is peer-to-peer and transactions take place between users directly, without an intermediary.[8]:4 These transactions are verified by network nodes and recorded in a public distributed ledger called a blockchain. Bitcoin was invented by an unknown person or group of people under the name Satoshi Nakamoto[10] and released as open-source software in 2009.[11] Bitcoins are created as a reward for a process known as mining. They can be exchanged for other currencies,[12] products, and services. As of February 2015, over 100,000 merchants and vendors accepted bitcoin as payment.[13] Research produced by the University of Cambridge estimates that in 2017, there are 2.9 to 5.8 million unique users using a cryptocurrency wallet, most of them using bitcoin.[14]

(Audiobook) The Original Bitcoin White Paper by Satoshi Nakamoto
Donations greatly appreciated! Bitcoin: 1KdkeDArSd5LVaLVh9WePaHqB9yHLaKPfv I worked very hard to create this interactive audiobook format and graciously appreciate Bitcoin donations. After wanting to read the original Bitcoin Whitepaper, I discovered there wasn't a good audiobook version of it with graphs and formulas. So I went ahead and made it, using a slower reading speed so a viewer can try and take it all in. I have no affiliation with bitcoin.org or Satoshi Nakamoto. Download the original whitepaper here. http://bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf From wikipedia.... In November 2008, a paper was posted on the internet under the name Satoshi Nakamoto titled Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System. This paper detailed methods of using a peer-to-peer network to generate what was described as "a system for electronic transactions without relying on trust". In January 2009, the Bitcoin network came into existence with the release of the first open source Bitcoin client and the issuance of the first bitcoins, with Satoshi Nakamoto mining the first block of bitcoins ever (known as the "genesis block"), which had a reward of 50 bitcoins. The value of the first bitcoin transactions were negotiated by individuals on the bitcointalk forums with one notable transaction involving a 10,000 BTC pizza. "Satoshi Nakamoto" is a pseudonym for the unknown person or people who designed the original Bitcoin protocol in 2008 and launched the network in 2009. Nakamoto was responsible for creating the majority of the official Bitcoin software and was active in making modifications and posting technical information on the BitcoinTalk Forum.[73] I apologize in advance for the few wording mistakes. I tried to notate most of them.

Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency and worldwide payment system. It is the first decentralized digital currency, as the system works without a central bank or single administrator. The network is peer-to-peer and transactions take place between users directly through the use of cryptography, without an intermediary. These transactions are verified by network nodes and recorded in an immutable public distributed ledger called a blockchain. Bitcoin was invented by an unknown person or group of people under the name Satoshi Nakamoto and released as open-source software in 2009. https://bitcoin.org/en/ https://www.bitcoin.com/ Ethereum is an open-source, public, blockchain-based distributed computing platform featuring smart contract (scripting) functionality. It provides a decentralized Turing-complete virtual machine, the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), which can execute scripts using an international network of public nodes. Ethereum also provides a cryptocurrency token called "ether", which can be transferred between accounts and used to compensate participant nodes for computations performed. "Gas", an internal transaction pricing mechanism, is used to mitigate spam and allocate resources on the network. Ethereum was proposed in late 2013 by Vitalik Buterin, a cryptocurrency researcher and programmer. Development was funded by an online crowdsale between July and August 2014. The system went live on 30 July 2015, with 11.9 million coins "premined" for the crowdsale. This accounts for approximately 13 percent of the total circulating supply. In 2016, as a result of the collapse of The DAO project, Ethereum was forked into two separate blockchains - the new forked version became Ethereum (ETH), and the original continued as Ethereum Classic (ETC). https://www.ethereum.org/ Litecoin (LTC or Ł) is a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency and open source software project released under the MIT/X11 license. Creation and transfer of coins is based on an open source cryptographic protocol and is not managed by any central authority. While inspired by, and in most regards technically nearly identical to Bitcoin (BTC), Litecoin has some minor technical differences compared to Bitcoin and other major cryptocurrencies. Litecoin also has almost zero payment cost. Litecoin was released via an open-source client on GitHub on October 7, 2011 by Charlie Lee, a former Google employee. The Litecoin network went live on October 13, 2011. It was a fork of the Bitcoin Core client, differing primarily by having a decreased block generation time (2.5 minutes), increased maximum number of coins, different hashing algorithm (scrypt, instead of SHA-256), and a slightly modified GUI. https://litecoin.org/ https://twitter.com/litecoin https://litecoin.com/ Dogecoin (/ˈdoʊʒkɔɪn/ DOHZH-koyn, code: DOGE, symbol: Ð and D) is a cryptocurrency featuring a likeness of the Shiba Inu dog from the "Doge" Internet meme as its logo. Introduced as a "joke currency" on 6 December 2013, Dogecoin quickly developed its own online community and reached a capitalization of US$60 million in January 2014; as of December 2017, it has a capitalization of US$308 million. Compared with other cryptocurrencies, Dogecoin had a fast initial coin production schedule: 100 billion coins were in circulation by mid-2015, with an additional 5.256 billion coins every year thereafter. As of 30 June 2015, the 100 billionth Dogecoin had been mined. While there are few mainstream commercial applications, the currency has gained traction as an Internet tipping system, in which social media users grant Dogecoin tips to other users for providing interesting or noteworthy content. Dogecoin was created by programmer Billy Markus from Portland, Oregon, who hoped to create a fun cryptocurrency that could reach a broader demographic than bitcoin. http://dogecoin.com/ Ripple is a real-time gross settlement system (RTGS), currency exchange and remittance network by Ripple. Also called the Ripple Transaction Protocol (RTXP) or Ripple protocol, it is built upon a distributed open source Internet protocol, consensus ledger and native cryptocurrency called XRP (ripples). Released in 2012, Ripple purports to enable "secure, instant and nearly free global financial transactions of any size with no chargebacks." It supports tokens representing fiat currency, cryptocurrency, commodity or any other unit of value such as frequent flier miles or mobile minutes. https://ripple.com/ WANT TO SEND ME SOME BITCOIN? 1LeyK64AiHTunfCAgPgapCjqR3ktj3ygb8 Rebel State Sovereign P.O. How to create bitcoin wallet in 4 minutes - Desktop Based
Create safe and secure Bitcoin Wallet Reasons I am choosing PC desktop based wallet are: - I have full control over my bitcoin and no other party can hold them. - It provides highest level of security if used properly in a secure network. - Complete transparency on software no hidden surprises from programmer. - Prevents spying on your wallet by rotating addresses. - You don’t have to submit any information about yourself to other users on the network. - You can use Tor as a proxy to stay hidden. Negative side of having desktop wallet is if you hard drive dies your money is gone. So I will go ahead and choose bitcoin core wallet. It doesn’t really matter which one you choose and it’s better to have many wallets. Also this wallet seems good because it’s open source and provides decent security, privacy and full control over coins. Select desktop followed by your operating system in this case I am using windows. After that click on install and it will take you to download page. After you have downloaded this software install it on your disk but make sure you have more then 20GB free space. This wallet requires synchronization of block chain transactions from 6 years ago. So this network synchronization will take some time. I would advise you to encrypt your wallet with strong password while you leave it to synchronize. It’s a good practice to go for 10 – 16 characters long password. Speed of synchronization depends mainly on your internet speed. It took me around 3 hours for block chain synchronization to complete with average UK internet.

How to Use a Trezor Hardware Wallet - Keeping Your Bitcoin Safe
Hardware wallets are a must to keep your Bitcoin safe! See my review on the Trezor cryptocurrency wallet and why you should use it if you care about your cryptos! Many people know that one of the big draws cryptocurrencies and blockchain assets have is the security provided by the blockchain. But one of the biggest misconceptions about cryptos is that because the blockchain is essentially unhackable, so are an individual’s wallets and the Bitcoin and altcoins they store. Simply put, this is absolutely not the case! So long as a person keeps their wallet keys on a computer or phone, those wallets and coins are at the mercy of hackers (especially if it is an online wallet through a third party!!!). A perfect example of this was the $80 million dollars in Bitcoin that were stolen by hackers from the most famous mining pool Nichash on December 2017. So what can anyone do to keep their cryptos safe? The answer, use Hardware Wallets! These specialized hardware devices are essentially encrypted lock-boxes for valued digital currencies! On this review, we’ll be looking at my current favorite choice, the Trezor wallet by Satoshi Labs. They do currently have a new model (the Trezor Model T) in pre-production, but I’ll be using the original model for this video. We’ll be covering all the necessities to getting started storing your Bitcoin and altcoins securely offline via hardware wallets.
