'Particle' robots: The bio-inspired bots that move with no brain

Researchers have built a robot made up of individual ‘particles’ that moves with no centralised control. The bots rely on the same kind of statistical mechanics that allows groups of cells to move, creating some intriguing possibilities. Find out more in this Nature Video. Neuroanatomy : The Human Brain

For more information : http://neuromatiq.net For the specific article about the brain : http://neuromatiq.net/en/chapters/2-anatomy/05-the-brain.html Please : Like, comment, share, subscribe, comment on the web specific page, and you can contribute by either correcting the missing English translations, or translate some articles to a language you master, I can make videos with your sound recordings and credit you for that :). The human forebrain is made of two hemispheres almost symmetrical, left and right. And a diencephalon, a medial and single part that includes the thalamus and the hypothalamus. The two cerebral hemispheres are connected by commissural pathways, the biggest is the corpus callosum with more than 200 million fibers crossing from one side to the other. Each cerebral hemisphere is divided into two distinct regions: a peripheral part, the cortex "gray matter" containing the bodies of nerve cells, and a central part, made of white matter that contains axonal extension of neurons and their myelin sheath. Each hemisphere is cut by deep fissures that define lobes. The first is the lateral sulcus or Sylvian fissure, where lies the middle cerebral artery, it separates the frontal lobe of the temporal lobe. The second is the central sulcus or fissure of Rolando, between the frontal lobe and the parietal lobe. The third sulcus is the parieto-occipital sulcus, separating the occipital lobe from the temporal and parietal lobes. In addition there is a fifth lobe, non visible on the surface: the lobe of the insula, found by removing the Sylvian fissure. In each lobe, there are less deep sulci that delimit the ridges on the cerebral cortex we call gyri.

Brain Articles

07:04
http://askmikethecounselor2.com Brain Articles are appearing everywhere, including Scientific American, where Kaspar Mossman evaluates 8 of the currently available brain fitness programs. I have used two of the programs Mossman evaluates, the Posit Science Brain Fitness Model, and Lumosity, both of which are enjoyable. But someone ought to give Mr. Mossman a sense of what to expect from his training.

Too much food for thought. 9. You've got some nerve... but your brain sure doesn't! 8. All brains "matter". 7. Unlimited Power?! 6. Don't hold your breathe! 5. Now here's an idea! 4. Do you see what I see? 3. That's just a tasteless comparison. 2. Fugget about it! 1. It's an all or nothing sort of deal. What Happens to Your Brain When You Hit the Snooze Button

08:11
Sleep is super-duper important! It gives your body much-needed rest and recovery. It allows your brain to work at its fullest. But sometimes you feel sleepy right after you wake up and even for most of the day. Any ideas why this happens to you more often than not? No, it’s not because of a lack of sleep. It’s because you keep hitting that snooze button like it’s your job! Other videos you might like: Do These 5 Things Every Morning, See How It Will Change You https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CG7SYpMsh6s 10 Morning Habits That Can Ruin Your Day https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzzLUw6KGlc& How to Wake Up at 4:30 AM Feeling Rested https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_RmskETjEg TIMESTAMPS: If you hit the snooze button, sleep another 90 minutes! 1:20 What sleep inertia is 😵 3:09 Why coffee can make you feel worse 3:34 You need a nice shock 5:19 ... and more sunlight 🌞 6:28 Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: - If you don’t get another 90 minutes of sleep after snoozing, you’ll feel even worse for it! - When you go in and out of a cycle repeatedly, that poor brain of yours just goes unhinged and ceases to understand where it is and what it should do. - That foggy state you get up in after you’ve hit snooze for 10 more minutes is called “sleep inertia.” Here it refers to your brain being unable to shake off the sleep and going straight into autopilot. - Caffeine, especially in high doses, can cause jitters, anxiety, and an increased heart rate. - In sleep mode, your brain actively restores your mind and body. When you’re awake, though, it’s busy multitasking with both restoration and daily activities. - You need to shake off the sleep and make your brain and body come in sync again. And what could tackle that job better than a cold shower? - Another way to wake up in a better state of mind is to turn on loud music. If you turn on your favorite tunes, your brain will start dancing to the beat, registering the new information, and waking up on the go. - A cold shock and sound stimulation are nice, but they work best if combined with one more method, and that’s exposure to morning sunlight. Again, it all comes down to hormones. - When the sun is shining into your face, that melatonin starts to dissipate and your brain gets pulled out of slumber naturally. How Does Your Brain Clean Itself?

Your body is constantly cleaning itself and destroying strange things that wander in. But the brain isn't connected to that cleaning service. So how does your brain take out the trash? How Not to Play You | A Quick Brain Sweep - Video & Article Suggestions

15:56
If you are new to my channel or the piano world, this video will help you get started using the Water Pianism philosophy of Mind, Body and Piano. Herein, I provide some brief discussion on each, in the hope that you will then go and find the relevant video/article and be inspired by it! In a nutshell, it is the Mind which dictates to the Body what to play on the Piano; it is not the Piano which tells the Body what the Mind should do... right? Understanding related philosophies and teachings, not to mention the endless journey of self-discovery (what I call 'Musical Personality') which help you to play You, and not how someone else tells you to play!
