India’s air strike on the Jaish-e-Mohammed terror camp in Balakot in Pakistan last month crossed a strategic red line and called Pakistan’s nuclear bluff. It forced Pakistan to shut its entire air space for days, use its air force to try and target India, exchange fire on land and send its entire navy out on patrols for more than a week after the strikes. Exclusive satellite images accessed by ThePrint also show that there was some activity at Pakistan’s nuclear weapons storage and launch facilities in the aftermath of the 26 February strike on Balakot. The images also indicate that there might have been an accident or incident near the Khuzdar garrison nuclear weapons storage facility in Balochistan province. Such incidents are very rarely made public and satellite imagery is possibly the only credible source to indicate what may have happened in the area. ThePrint analyses imagery of some of Pakistan’s main nuclear weapons facilities. Khuzdar :: The Khuzdar garrison is one of the most well-secured locations for the storage of Pakistan’s nuclear weapons. The main facility is a hardened underground structure with two Y-shaped bunkers of three bays each, 50m x 10m in size, and three bays each of 25m x 10m. These are interconnected with a long passage, which measures 210m x 10m. The total area of 2,850 square metres can hold approximately 46 weapons on transporter erector launchers (TELs). The number could be higher, depending on the method of storage. After the Balakot strike, ground sources indicate that some operational units have been observed in this area. The latest satellite image from 8 March 2019 shows huge black burn marks (200m x 100m), suggesting an accident. It is possible that one or more missiles fell off a TEL and the explosive burnt up, in turn burning the small hillock next to the main road. Petaro :: The Petaro garrison is located 18 km north of Hyderabad in Sindh, and is one of the most sophisticated underground warhead storage facilities in Pakistan. The main facility is a massive hardened underground structure with two X-shaped bunkers, with four bays each of 30m x 10m size and four bays of 20m x 10m size, connected with 200m x 10m passage. The total size, 4,000 sq m, is larger than the biggest US repository — the hangar at Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico. This Pakistani facility can hold anything from 50 to 500 nuclear weapons, depending upon the method and type of weapon storage. Security fencing layers have been increased recently, indicating that the location is now active and weapons are stored. A new nine-hole golf course built in 2018 suggests that a large number of officers are posted at this location, possibly a brigade. Karachi :: The PAF air base Masroor at Karachi has constructed a specialised hardened bunker for the storage of RAAD missiles with possible nuclear warheads. The warhead storage is a specialised square-shaped bunker, with three-sided revetments. The aircraft shelter has triple-layered hardening on top to ensure survivability from earth-penetrating weapons. The entire complex is a super-hardened underground automated vault system for the storage of RAAD missiles. The missiles’ movement from the storage bunker to the hardened aircraft shelter can possibly be controlled remotely from the Air Defence Centre. The automated vault system can possibly hold 6-10 RAAD missiles, good enough to arm 3-5 aircraft, enhancing the PAF’s second strike capability. Launch pads :: A large number of launch pads are spread out all over Pakistan, but most of them are tucked in mountain gorges for the safety and security of the arsenal. These launch pads are generally found in groups of three, far from habitation. Every circular launch pad of 35m diameter also has a small square dugout for accommodating the instrumentation vehicles. How to Measure Vital Capacity Using a Balloon

In this video, I show how you can calculate your vital capacity (the maximum air you can breathe in one breath). First you would measure your "expected" vital capacity for your height and weight using a couple formulas. Then you would measure your "actual" vital capacity by breathing into a balloon and measuring the balloon's diameter. Lastly, you would measure how well you meet your Expected Vital Capacity by calculating the percentage. Over 80% is considered normal. I use this lab when teaching the Scientific Method to my students. I have them test whether or not athletes will have a higher vital capacity compared to non-athletes, and then we graph our results on a bar chart. Surprisingly, many of my students were between the 60 - 80% range which is not considered normal; this could mean they weren't doing the calculations right or perhaps because they need to exercise more. :) Even one of the football player's vital capacity was in the high 60's. I did find that the students who were at 100% vital capacity ran on a regular basis. I run 2 miles a day and my vital capacity was normal (83%). U.S SENDS B1B TO SOUTH CHINA SEA, HOW POWERFUL IS IT?

INTRODUCTION: U.S has sent two. B-1B bombers in South China Sea escorted by American and South Korean jet fighter. The ‘Freedom of Navigation’ exercise included practicing attack capabilities at a training range. In this video, Defense Updates analyzes the capabilities of B1B and explains why China should be afraid of it? Lets get started. BACKGROUND: China has a long history of maritime disputes with its South China Sea neighbors. It claims almost all of the South China Sea, including islands more than 800 miles (~1300 km) from the Chinese mainland, despite objections from its neighbors. Beijing has also created artificial islands in the area, outfitting some of them with military features. According to the US, China has reclaimed more than 3,000 acres in the Spratly Islands since 2014. China’s sweeping claims of sovereignty over the sea have provoked competing claimants Malaysia, Vietnam, Brunei, Taiwan, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Non-claimants like USA, India, Australia & Japan want the South China Sea to remain as international waters with freedom of navigation, whereas China want to control this major trade way .It is a very important sea route with 5 trillion $ in trade, half of global merchant shipping and 1/2 of world’s oil shipment pass through it. The sea also has alleged 11 billion barrels of untapped oil and 190 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. B1B CONCEPT The B-1 Lancer is a supersonic variable-sweep wing, heavy bomber used by the United States Air Force (USAF). It is commonly called the "Bone". It is one of three strategic bombers in the USAF fleet as of 2017, the other two being the B-2 Spirit "Stealth Bomber", and the B-52 Stratofortress. U.S has 100 of these. NEED The B-1A was originally designed during the 1970s as a high-altitude, Mach 2.0-capable nuclear bomber. However, President Jimmy Carter cancelled the program on June 30, 1977, in favor of air launched cruise missiles carried onboard the B-52, intercontinental ballistic missiles and what eventually became the Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit stealth bomber. This was done after it became apparent that penetrating Soviet airspace at high altitudes in a conventional non-stealthy aircraft was likely a suicidal endeavor. President Ronald Reagan eventually revived the Lancer program on Oct. 2, 1981, however the new B-1B was optimized for low-level penetration. Additionally, the aircraft was modified with new engine air intakes and other upgrades to reduce its radar cross-section. The resultant B-1B aircraft no longer possessed Mach 2 capability—topping out at roughly Mach 1.25—but had much better survivability because of stealthier profile. WING SWEEP SYSTEM Most airplane wing designs are tradeoffs. Wings are set for low speed stability or high-speed performance, or some middle point. But even with flap systems and leading edge slats, fixed wings are compromises. A multi-role aircraft needs more flexibility. Having variability in the wing configuration has huge advantages in making a single aircraft adept at multiple missions. RANGE / SERVCE CEILING /PAYLOAD B1B has an excellent range of Range: 5,900 mi or 9,400 km. It has a Service ceiling of 60,000 ft. B1B has a massive payload of 125,000 lb (56,700 kg) internal and external ordnance combined. It has 6 external hardpoints for 50,000 pounds (23,000 kg) of ordnance and 3 internal bomb bays for 75,000 pounds (34,000 kg) of ordnance. Depending on mission the ammunition can consists of following: 84× Mk-82 Air inflatable retarder (AIR) general purpose (GP) bombs 81× Mk-82 low drag general purpose (LDGP) bombs 84× Mk-62 Quickstrike sea mines 24× Mk-84 general-purpose bombs 24× Mk-65 naval mines 30× CBU-87/89/CBU-97 Cluster Bomb Units (CBU) 30× CBU-103/104/105 Wind Corrected Munitions Dispenser (WCMD) 24× GBU-31 JDAM GPS guided bombs (Mk-84 GP or BLU-109 warhead) 15× GBU-38 JDAM GPS guided bombs (Mk-82 GP warhead) 48× GBU-38 JDAM (using rotary launcher mounted multiple ejector racks) 48× GBU-54 Laser JDAM (using rotary launcher mounted multiple ejector racks) 96× or 144× GBU-39 Small Diameter Bomb GPS guided bombs 24× AGM-154 Joint Standoff Weapon (JSOW) 24× AGM-158 Joint Air to Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM) CONCLUSION Earlier James Mattis, on a two-day visit to Japan, affirmed that Senkakus islands in South China Sea, which are controlled by Japan but also claimed by China, fell within the scope of the Japan-US security treaty, under which Washington is obliged to defend all areas under Japanese administrative control. US has also signed an important agreement with India. The Logistics Exchange Memorandum of Agreement (LEMOA) between US & India allows them to use each other's land, air and naval bases for repair and resupply. US, Japan and Indian are participating in Malabar naval exercise with eye on China. It is clear from the developments that China is increasing getting isolated due to its aggressive posturing.

SURYA , (meaning the Sun in Sanskrit and many Indian languages) is the codename for one of the Intercontinental ballistic missiles that India is reported to be developing, is a three stage designed ICBM, first two stages using solid propellants and the third-stage using liquid, it is road-mobile intercontinental ballistic missile Is underdevelopment phase by india’s defense research and organistaion (DRDO). first report about the Surya missile was published by The Nonproliferation Review in 1995, albeit the status remains unconfirmed as of 2012. with some report indicating that the development of this system was initiated in 1994, Conflicting reports regarding the Surya's configuration claim that it will be based on the components of the polar space launch vehicle (PSLV) and the Agni IRBM. It has a length of 40 m and a diameter of 1.1 m. It weighs in at 85,000 kilograms and it has an estimated range of 12,000 to 16,000 kilometers. This would make the SURYA the world's longest range missile, surpassing the range of the Chinese DF-41 which has a reported range of 15,000 km. It is believed to have a top speed of Mach 25 or 30625 km per hour, and to be capable of M I R V (Thermo neuclear) delivery (up to 10) around 250 kilo ton. WHY IT IS IMPORTANT for india TO DEVELOPE a ICBM. India’s strategic community and the military have been clamouring for decades that to have bullet-proof security, India needs an ICBM that can reach every major country on the planet; that is, a missile with a range of at least 12,000 kilometre. Now there are many people on the other side of the debate who question whether ICBMs are such a big deal. Their reasoning is that India’s furthest rival is China so there’s no need for a missile that travels further than that country. Plus, they argue, the US and Europe aren’t inimical to India so why provoke their ire by developing missiles that could potentially target these benign fellows? Such thinking ignores a basic precept of defence – a nation must forever wage peace but keep its powder dry. ICBMs are strategic weapons and without a global-range missile, India will be unable to break out of its regional context. It’s as simple as that. The ICBM is the doomsday weapon that separates the men from the boys in the global slugfest. While it is true that economic strength plays a key role in shaping international power equations, strategic missiles alone can guarantee fail-safe national security. As the Federation of American Scientists says, “Regardless of the origin of a conflict, a country may involve the entire world simply by threatening to spread the war with an ICBM.” The supposedly horrendous cost of building and maintaining ICBMs is also touted as a reason why nations should avoid them. However, for decades China has strutted on the global stage on the strength of just 20 silo-based ICBMs. Today, of course, it has nuclear armed submarines and road mobile ICBMs, but those 20 venerable missiles have given it strategic parity with the US and Russia who both possess hundreds of missiles. Clearly, strategic missiles are one reason (the other being the permanent seat at the U N Security Council) why regional chipmunks like France and Britain continue to talk big whereas Germany and Japan despite their massive economies remain fringe players. Without a credible ICBM force, India will be looked upon as nothing more than a subcontinental bully – a country that aspires to play hardball with the giants but ends up relegated to the minor league.

The royal British Armed Forces are building a new and improved torpedo for the Royal British Navy to boost their power and will be a great torpedo for NATO members. The Spearfish torpedo (formally Naval Staff Target 7525) is the heavy torpedo used by the submarines of the Royal Navy. It can be guided by wire or by autonomous active or passive sonar, and provides both anti-submarine warfare (ASW) and anti-surface ship warfare (ASuW) capability. It replaced the unreliable Tigerfish torpedo, which was withdrawn in 2004; the significantly higher speed of the Spearfish, for which development started in the 1970s, before the breakup of the Soviet Union, was intended to catch high-speed, deep-diving Soviet threats such as the Alfa-class submarine. The addition of an oxidiser improves the specific energy of the fuel by reducing the fuel-richness of the Otto fuel.[3] A microprocessor enables the torpedo to make autonomous tactical decisions during the attack. It has a powerful blast warhead, triggered by either contact detonation (against a submarine hull) or an acoustic proximity fuze (for under-keel detonation against ships). A standoff detonation under the keel enhances blast effects against surface ships through the amplification of stress resulting from the interaction of the explosion's products and the flexible structure of the ship. This can be seen in SINKEX video footage.[4] Guidance[edit] In a typical engagement, Spearfish will run out wired-guided to the general vicinity of the target and then conduct a covert passive search. The high-capacity guide wire system, specifically design to match the Spearfish's manoeuvre and speed envelope, provides two-way data exchange between the torpedo and launch submarine, maximising the submarine's organic sensor and combat control capabilities. Once at close range the Spearfish uses active sonar to classify and home in on its target. High power transmissions and sophisticated signal processing enable Spearfish to accurately discriminate targets from background noise and ensure high resistance to acoustic countermeasures and/or evasive manoeuvres. Should Spearfish fail to hit the target on its first attack, it automatically selects an appropriate re-attack mode until it successfully concludes the engagement. Testing[edit] Tactical software has been extensively refined through real-time, hardware in the loop simulations and demonstrated in over 500 in-water trials and exercise firings. Production[edit] The production contract for the Spearfish Torpedo was placed with GEC-Marconi Underwater Systems Ltd (now BAE Systems) in 1983, following a development programme lasting for several years. Deployment[edit] Spearfish entered full production in 1988, with deliveries completed in 2003; the number ordered has not been revealed. Spearfish torpedoes are stored and serviced at Beith Ordnance Storage facility in North Ayrshire. Upgrade[edit] In 2009, an upgrade program began, leading to further sophisticated advances in Spearfish's homing, warheads, tactical and fuelling systems, as well an upgraded guidance link. This will last until 2019.[5][6] On 15 December 2014, the Ministry of Defence awarded BAE Systems a £270 million contract to upgrade the Spearfish torpedo. The upgrade includes a new warhead, a change to the fuel system to improve safety, full digitisation of the weapon and a new fibre optic guidance link to improve performance.[7] The Royal Navy (RN) is the United Kingdom's principal naval warfare force. Tracing its origins to the 16th century, it is the oldest service and is known as the Senior Service. From the end of the 17th century until well into the 20th century, it was the most powerful navy in the world,[1] playing a key part in establishing the British Empire as the dominant world power. Honest reviews and advice. Hello and welcome to today's Plumberparts.co.uk video. Today we're gonna take it to the next level. We're gonna change a kitchen tap. Here's a kitchen tap in question. It's got a small drippy drip leak. Also the customer's having trouble turning this on and off. And they just wanna new tap anyway. Here's our new tap here. Let's have a quick look at it. So we're looking at this, this is the new tap. What they have on the bottom is a standard half inch thread. Small washer, which goes on the underside of the sink, with this nut. Then on top of that a foam plate that allows the tap to get really good seal on top of the sink. There are loads of different ways to connect the tap pipes up to 15mm pipe. You got the flexible type that has a small rubber seal on it, and is flexible obviously. And very easy to fit because you don't have to have the pipes fully lined up. Or you can have a rigid tap connector, which is a half inch nut with a little collar on it, then either a fiber washer or a rubber washer. This is gonna be a straight change type. We're not gonna need to use either a flexible or a connector. Hopefully these two pipes, when they get taken off the bottom of this tap, will line up directly with the new tap. But the first thing we have to do is isolate the supplies and make sure all the water is turned off, so when we do come to undo the pipes there's no water coming out. Good. Now remove everything from under the sink so we can see the pipe connections at the bottom of the kitchen tap and access them easily. So this is what we see underneath. We have our half inch or 15 mil nut head, it holds on the pipes. Surprise there's two there, and also have the nuts at the top. But let's have a look at the different types of tools there are to remove these nuts first. Number one. This is one of the very common tools you'll use to release a nut on a tap. I call it the claw because of it's claw like capability. This flips back and is also switch over. So you can tighten up and also loosen it off. Very handy when working under a sink. That'll come up underneath like that and go around. That's the loosening off one there. If you flip it over the other way you get the tightening up there. That's how that works. Next we have tube speller with two different sizes. That'll just come up under there like that and tighten up right so. Really easy. It, yet again, means in a small space you can undo and tighten up these nuts, which is generally way you're gonna have to work when doing a kitchen tap. And last, but not least, we have a very similar type of tap. This one goes up underneath onto the nut like so and spins round. So say we have our tap just sitting here like that. This will come up from underneath and go on that nut like that and that could loosen it and tighten it up. Of course, as I've said, if you're lucky you can just use a spanner. So first release the nut off. Comes away. Generally it seems it becomes loosen to the point you can use your hands. Get in there and use your hands. That's fine. I'm gonna try and get this one off here. It's never an easy job, this. But persist and you will win. Right now do the next one, which is gonna be a little bit more difficult. We might need our tools on this. I'm just trying to get that round here. Then twist it off. There we go, got loose enough. Let me just twist that. Keep twisting that round. A bit of water coming out. There we go and do that same with that nut farther off. Once you've released both nuts at the bottom of each side of the tap, should just be able pull it up and off. Just like that, there we go. Out! Old tap gone. Generally that's the hardest bit done. Fitting the new tap is gonna be a lot easier. Now is also a good time to clean off any old bits and bobs that were stuck under the old tap. That my new install look even better once it's in. Before we install this tap I'm gonna show you how the flexible tap things work. This is a push type one. So it's push fit. So that just pushes on the 15 mil pipe and that'll make a seal straight away. This end is the same size as what we're gonna be screwing onto in a minute. That just goes around the end of your tap. Like so. And tightens up. You can generally tighten these hand tight because they've got a rubber seal inside. They seal really, really well and water tight seals aren't really that hard to come by with these.

With a Bolt Tensioner (SSV), bolts are axially preloaded without torquing using high-pressure hydraulic. Axial tension force has been attained by using SCHAAF SSV for bolts with a thread diameter from 8 mm to over 800 mm. SCHAAF Bolt Tensioners are distinguished into eight different product groups (PG) (designs) which, in principle, all have the same function. BOLT TENSIONER (SSV) PG 3 The distinguishing feature of the Bolt Tensioners of product group 3 is that the cylinder-piston-set is placed over a bolt thread and that, then, an immersion nut (puller) which immerses into the Bolt Tensioner is screwed down to the stop face of the piston. Main features • Single-stage • Flush nut • For continuous or recessed bolt threads Advantages • Can be used for other thread sizes, by replacing components which depend on thread size • Short thread overhang of bolt • SSV is simple to place, thus short set-up times • Easy handling because of low weight of flush nut Conditions • Larger outer diameter for same technical data as PG 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 and 7 • Difficult handling for thread dimensions larger than 100 mm (4 inch), for overhead mounting Examples of application • When different screw sizes on a complete system have to be pre-tensioned using the same SSV • Universally applicable FUNCTION OF A BOLT TENSIONER (SSV) PG 3 IN SIMPLIFIED RESPRESENTATION Basic position Place the SSV onto the bolt to be tensioned and screw the thread sleeve down to the piston surface. A hydraulic high-pressure pump, through a flexible hose, feeds oil into the space between cylinder and piston. The hydraulic pressure increases. Elongation and compression As the hydraulic pressure increases, the resulting axial force elongates the bolt and compresses the flanges. Thus, the main nut lifts from the flange. On reaching the desired tension, pressurizing is stopped. Positioning of the main nut The tensioning force is achieved and the main nut can be turned down to contact the flange. When releasing the oil pressure, the desired tensioning force remains in the bolt connection. After removing the SSV, you may use the equipment for tensioning other bolts. Bolt Tensioners can be removed from the bolt connection after pre-tensioning. Failed Rocket Launch in 1957. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vanguard_TV3 Vanguard TV3, also called Vanguard Test Vehicle Three was the first attempt of the United States to launch a satellite into orbit around the Earth. Vanguard 1A was a small satellite designed to test the launch capabilities of the three-stage Vanguard and study the effects of the environment on a satellite and its systems in Earth orbit. It was also to be used to obtain geodetic measurements through orbit analysis. Solar cells on Vanguard 1A were manufactured by Bell Laboratories. At its launch attempt on December 6, 1957, at Cape Canaveral, the booster ignited and began to rise, but about two seconds after liftoff, after rising about four feet (1.2 m), the rocket lost thrust and fell back to the launch pad. As it settled the fuel tanks ruptured and exploded, destroying the rocket and severely damaging the launch pad. The Vanguard satellite was thrown clear and landed on the ground a short distance away with its transmitters still sending out a beacon signal. The satellite was damaged, however, and could not be reused. It is now on display at the National Air and Space Museum of the Smithsonian Institution.[1] The exact cause of the accident was not determined with certainty, but it appeared that the fuel system malfunctioned. Other engines of the same model were modified and did not fail. The history of the Vanguard TV3 project dates back to the International Geophysical Year (IGY). This was an enthusiastic international undertaking that united scientists globally to conduct planet-wide geophysical studies. The IGY guaranteed free exchange of information acquired through scientific observation which led to many important discoveries in the future.[2] Orbiting a satellite became one of the main goals of the IGY. As early as July 1955, President Dwight D. Eisenhower announced, through his press secretary, that the United States would launch "small, unmanned, earth-circling satellites as part of the U.S. participation in the I.G.Y." [3] On September 9, 1955, the United States Department of Defense wrote a letter to the secretary of the Navy authorizing the mission to proceed. The US Navy had been assigned the task of launching Vanguard satellites as part of the program. Project Vanguard had officially begun.[4] The payload of the TV3 was very similar to the later Vanguard 1. It was a small aluminium sphere, 15.2 cm in diameter and with a mass of 1.36 kg. It carried two transmitters: a 10-mW, 108-MHz transmitter powered by a mercury battery, and a 5-mW, 108.03-MHz transmitter powered by six solar cells mounted on the body of the spacecraft. Using six small aerial antennae mounted on its body, the satellite primarily transmitted engineering and telemetry data, but the transmitters were also used to determine the total electron content between the satellite and the ground stations. Other instruments in the satellite's design included two thermistors, which were used to measure the satellite's internal temperatures for the purpose of tracking its thermal protection's effectiveness. Although the satellite was damaged beyond reuse capability during the crash, it was still transmitting after the incident.[1]

With regards to its nuclear arsenal, recent years have seen Beijing building a more mobile, survivable force. As a 2017 RAND Corporation report noted, “China has been transitioning to a more survivable, road-mobile theater nuclear force for many years.” More recently, according to a report by Ankit Panda, China has been flight testing a new nuclear-capable air-launched ballistic missile (ALBM) based off the DF-21. In some ways, a more mobile, survivable force makes China’s No First Use declaratory policy more credible, since Beijing is better able to withstand a first strike. At the same time, the greater accuracy of precision-guided missiles like the DF-21 and DF-26 gives China a better nuclear warfighting capability. It’s also worth noting that having dual-use missiles continues Beijing’s pattern of intermingling its conventional and nuclear forces. Recently, Chinese state media reported that a new brigade of Beijing’s most advanced intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM) has been “activated.” The newly commissioned brigade is armed with the Dong Feng-26 (DF-26) IRBM. According to the Diplomat , “Video footage carried in Chinese state media showed at least 22 integrated six-axle DF-26 transporter-erector-launchers along with their crews.” What do we know about this missile? First, the basics. The Center for Strategic and International Studies’ Missile Threat Project notes that the DF-26 is a road-mobile, two-stage solid-fueled IRBM. The Missie Threat Project cites Chinese sources as saying that the “missile measures 14 m in length, 1.4 m in diameter, and has a launch weight of 20,000 kg.” Notably, the DF-26 is believed to have a range between three and four thousand kilometers. This means it can hold Guam—a major hub of U.S. military operations in the western Pacific—at risk. In fact, as the Missile Threat Project points out, this is China’s first conventionally armed ballistic missile capable of threatening Guam. The Indian Air Force is equipping its Su-30MKI combat aircraft with the Israeli Spice-2000 bombs which were used by the force to carry out air strikes on the Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists training camp inside Pakistan. Talking about the quick deployment of forces by the Air Force on the western frontier of Pakistan, top Indian Air Force sources told ANI that the force has been successful in doing so due to the exercise GaganShakti held last year where the service practiced to carry out high tempo operations on both the possible fronts. “At the moment, the only aircraft which is capable of delivering the bombs on enemy targets is the Mirage 2000. But now the Air Force is putting them on the Su-30s as well to further enhance their firepower,” government sources told ANI here. India had acquired more than 200 of these bombs from Israel a few years back and the Su-30MKI has already carried out trials of launching the Spice-2000 on ground targets, they said. "After a few more trials, the Su-30 fleet would be equipped with these bombs which rely on coordinates and satellite pictures of the target to home in and destroy the intended targets," the sources said. Once the integration is successful, it would be a big force multiplier for the Air force as the only planes which can launch these bombs right now are the Mirage 2000s. The IAF has only around three squadrons of these planes whereas the service has already inducted more than 250 of these aircraft and has planes of getting around 20 more by the end of next year. The Air Force used the Spice-2000 bombs extensively during the air strikes on Pakistan on February 26 decimating the intended target in Balakote in Khyber Pakhtunwa province of Pakistan in form of the Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist training camp. The attacks were carried out by the Air force to avenge the Pulwama suicide terrorist attack in which 40 CRPF troopers were killed. Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar has been active against India for the last almost 20 years after he was released from jail during the Kandhar hijack where terrorists were released in exchange for passengers of the Indian Airlines flight number IC-814. is the first Borei-class ballistic missile submarine of the Project 955 in service with the Russian Navy. Named after the founder of Moscow, Yuri Dolgoruki, the vessel was laid down on 2 November 1996 and was first planned to enter service in 2001. However, the R-39M missile that the Borei class was supposed to carry was abandoned after several failed tests, and the submarine was redesigned for the Bulava missile. The Bulava missile is smaller than the original R-39M, and in the 2007 START treaty data exchange it was reported that all Borei-class submarines would carry 16 missiles instead of 12, as originally intended. As of January 2013 the submarine is active with the Russian Navy. Yury Dolgoruky is armed with 16 RSM-56 Bulava SLBM, developed by the Moscow Institute of Thermal Technology. Bulava SLBM is the naval variant of the SS-27 Topol-M intercontinental ballistic missile. Bulava SLBM has a length of 12.1m and diameter of 2.1m. It has an operational range of 8,000km and is capable of carrying up to ten independently guided, manoeuverable warheads with an yield of 100-150kt each.
