Can Money Buy Happiness?
TWEET IT - http://clicktotweet.com/dAeY6 We often hear it, but how true is the phrase 'Money can't buy happiness'? Is there a correlation between the two, and if so, what can we learn from it? It turns out, if you think money and happiness are exclusive, you simply aren't spending it right. The REAL Truth About Making Money (Animated)
Many people on the internet know that money does not provide us with happiness, but many people don’t realize what exactly money does provide us. I think the common things people think money can provide for us is happiness, women, freedom, and self-esteem. And people will lie to you, and say that you need money in order to sell you something. But the truth is, that you don’t need money to achieve a lot of things in life. Like I said in the video, I am someone who has spent the past 2 years travelling the world, while making money online. At first, I was not making a lot of money, only $40,000 dollars per year. Even though I only made $40k per year, I still was very happy, I had success with women, and I had freedom. I think the reason why people tell themselves that money is the answer to all of this, is because it’s a very easy excuse as to why they should not take action. It’s easier to just say “I need money to have confidence” instead of actually sitting down and working on themselves. But don’t get me wrong, I am not saying at all that money is bad, I want money within my own life. I want to provide for my family and provide stability for my self. But I know and understand what money can provide me, and what it cannot provide me, and that is the main point of this video. If you enjoyed this video, please be sure to subscribe!

Money Doesn't Buy Happiness, But It Is... - Motivational Video
www.endless-motivation.com People tell you, money doesn’t buy happiness. But that one line alone doesn’t mean much. Money can’t help you get friends. It can’t help you find a wife or a husband. You can’t buy your way to a better body. But what happens when you have no money? When you’re deep in debt. When you’re unemployed. When you can’t afford to give your family what they need. Now you see money in a different light. Money is insanely important. You can’t live in this world without it. Have you ever been broke? Like flat broke. Eating cheap food. Not being able to do the things you want to do. Turning down opportunities because you just can’t afford it. Not having money limits your life. So money doesn’t buy happiness, but poverty doesn’t either. Making money is what drives us. That’s why we get up every day and go to our jobs. I don’t like money. I like the things money can buy. Healthy food, entertainment, education, a home. Money is just as important as oxygen, you need it to live. So let’s get to the bottom line here, you need to work your ass off to make money. There’s no way you can live like a slacker. If you’re not working hard NOW then what are you waiting for? Waiting until your energy runs out at 45 years old? Or waiting for when you retire? Wouldn’t you rather hussle hard now while you’re young and then have a nest egg built up for the future. And then you won’t have to work so hard when you’re older because you’ll have a career and skills to get the job done. In my life I’ve worked a lot. I’ve had day jobs, I’ve had night jobs, I’ve had side jobs, freelance jobs. You name it. For a few months I worked from 10am to 6pm during the day followed by a night job working from 7pm to 5am. That schedule doesn’t even logically work and you probably shouldn’t do what I did. But hard work is everything. Now I know what it means to earn a living. The worst thing you could do is to squander your hard earned money. Especially after you’ve worked so hard to attain it. Don’t waste it. Spend at least a portion of your income on your future. Education, health, and possessions that have long term value. If you spend your money the right way, it will come back to you in multitudes. When you apply your earnings to important values like education and health, you don’t lose these things easily. It’s something that you keep with you for life. Being focused on making money does not give you the right to be greedy. You have to give back to the world, but it’s a lot easier than you think. It could be donating a small percentage of your hard earned money to charity. It could be guiding someone who is in the same position that you were in. It could be leaving a legacy for your children. It’s really up to you to decide. Whether you believe in it or not karma is real. And now might not be the time to return the favor. But some day, you want to give back. So next time your friends or your co-workers tell you money doesn’t buy happiness, you can tell them what it does buy. It buys you your essentials. Your tools. And your future. ► Subscribe - http://bit.ly/EndlessMotivationSubscribe ► Visit Our Website - http://bit.ly/EndlessMotivationWeb ► SoundCloud - http://bit.ly/EndlessMotivationSoundCloud

Money Can Buy Happiness If You Know How to Spend It: Stuff, Experiences, Gifts | Michael Norton
Do you really need a lot of stuff to be happy? Science says that the opposite is true. Read more at BigThink.com: http://bigthink.com/videos/michael-norton-understanding-the-complex-relationship-between-money-and-happiness Follow Big Think here: YouTube: http://goo.gl/CPTsV5 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/BigThinkdotcom Twitter: https://twitter.com/bigthink Michael Norton: My colleague Liz Dunn at University of British Columbia and I have been studying the relationship with between money and happiness. And it seems like a simple relationship, which is: we want more money and we want more happiness, so maybe if we get more money we’ll get more happiness. And it turns out that the relationship is really a lot more complicated than that. It’s not too surprising to say that money can’t buy you happiness, we’ve heard that phrase a lot. But that doesn’t help us understand then what kind of spending will actually make us happy and what kind won’t. What we tend to find when we look at the data is that the biggest category of things that people spend on is stuff for themselves. Of course we need to pay rent or our mortgage, we need to have a car, we need to have food and clothes, but it seems as though people are spending an inordinate amount of their money on stuff for themselves, and the biggest problem from our standpoint as psychologists is the percent of money that you spend on stuff for yourself is completely uncorrelated with how happy you are with your life. It doesn’t make you unhappy, it’s not like if you buy a lot of stuff you’re miserable, which sometimes we think is the case—it’s just the case that it’s flat. No matter how much it seems you buy for yourself, nothing really seems to happen. And so in our research, and other researchers as well, we’ve tried to look at, well, if stuff for yourself doesn’t pay off are there other things that you can spend your money on that actually do pay off in more happiness? And what Liz and I have focused on the most is this idea that instead of focusing on yourself all the time, which doesn’t seem to pay off in happiness, when you focus on other people you sort of reverse the arrow from me to you, it seems that on average when people give to others—which can be giving to charity, it can be treating a friend to lunch, it can be buying people gifts—that those actions of giving rather than keeping seem to be associated with more happiness. And when we send people out and give them money and tell them to spend it on themselves or spend it on somebody else, people who spend it on themselves kind of have the same day they would’ve had anyway, but people who spend on other people actually have a happier day. So, if you think about the idea that stuff for yourself doesn’t make you happy you can think of two opposites of that. One is stuff for other people, so that’s kind of giving makes you happier than keeping, but another opposite of stuff for yourself is to think about: you can still spend on yourself but change from stuff to something else. And lots of research over the last decade has shown that on average when people buy experiences it tends to pay off in more happiness than buying stuff for themselves. And if you think about it there’s a lot of reasons for that. One of them, which is really critical, is often when we buy stuff for ourselves we end up by ourselves with our stuff. Think of yourself on your phone playing a video game or whatever else it might be, you’re often alone with your stuff. Whereas experiences, yes we do some experiences solo, but many, many experiences have built into them that they’re social. If we go out to dinner or go see a movie or go on a hike or whatever else it might be, now we’re with other people and even though people sometimes annoy us a lot it turns out that talking to other people makes us happy, even casual interactions with other people make us happier than sitting by ourselves in a room. So experiences are more interesting and all those things, but they also actually kind of serve to commit us to spending time with other people, and that’s partly why experiences pay off in so much more happiness.

My Friends Were With Me For My Money
★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Britney. She’s a lucky person – she comes from a very wealthy family. But she’s not here to boast. Unfortunately, everyone has their problems, and hers are no less significant than anyone else’s. Her biggest problem is finding friends, and this is the reason why. Britney doesn’t think that she’s arrogant, or a snob, or whatever it is that people think about kids from rich families. Her dad is a very simple person, a self-made-man, and he wants his children to work their own way through life too. That doesn’t mean that they have strict limitations on using money – his belief is that they need to invest their time and effort in studying, and should work like everyone else who is not as lucky as they are. That’s why they have always lived a pretty simple life – not in some mansion, but in an ordinary house. Their dad also insisted that they go to an ordinary school, not some fancy private one. When Britney was a child, she didn’t even notice the difference between herself and other children. They all shared the same studies and hobbies. She’s a very sociable person, so she didn’t have problems finding friends. But when she became a teenager and went to high school, she noticed that things had changed. Everyone was divided into groups and ranks – it was not just one big group of children anymore. She didn’t like the idea of classifying people, but you have to adapt in order to enjoy life. Since she is quite easy-going, she ended up in the “celeb” group. This wasn’t her goal, of course, but she was at a new school and she just wanted to make friends. They came to her and proposed that she hang out with them – why would she say no? They seemed like really nice people. They chatted a lot about designer clothes and gadgets, and all the other things that are trendy nowadays. This was when she found out that they had somehow already learned about who she was and what family she was from – and Britney began to have doubts. She’s not a fool, and she understands that sometimes people can be guided by self-interest when choosing friends. She started watching her new friends attentively. Her dad had taught her that you should always check people out before trusting them, even if she had never been in a situation where she’d been right to mistrust people before. But everything seemed okay. It was quite a large group of people – there were eight of them – and they all had different backgrounds. They were regular people with different personalities – that’s ok then, she thought. They spent a lot of time together, and met outside school as well, and as time passed she didn’t notice any particular interest in her family’s wealth. When things started changing, she didn’t even notice at first. From time to time when they went out, one or two of her friends asked her to pay for their movie tickets or a coffee, and promised to give back the money. They never gave it back, and she thought it was a bit petty to remind them. Then...their ‘appetites’ started growing. Sometimes they asked her to pay for a round of bowling or a coffee for everyone. She didn’t think it was fair, but they were her friends and she thought it was shameful to quarrel over money. Britney became irritated by the situation, and started thinking: “What if they made friends with me only because of my money? What if they don’t even really like me?” At some point, thinking these kinds of thoughts over again and again leads you to paranoia. She wanted to check if they really liked just her money or her. She already had trust issues, and thought that it would be better to be alone than with friends like that. So one day she met up with them and pretended to be all sad, saying that they had financial problems at home – that her dad had lost his business and that he had cut her pocket money drastically. She saw them exchange glances but they didn’t say anything. Everything continued as normal and she had already begun to calm down, but when they decided to go to the cinema, she asked someone to pay for her. “I’m broke”, she said, “sorry guys, I’ll give it back as soon as I can”. They exchanged glances again. Then one of her supposed friends said: “Look, we’re not as rich as you are and we can’t sponsor you, sorry. Maybe it’d be better if you go another time”. That was it. Now she knew! How could she even think that someone could be disinterested in her family’s money! She was staring at their backs as they were walking away feeling so disappointed, and she didn’t notice that Lea was still standing by her side. She asked if Britney needed help. “Do you need to talk? I understand it can be hard”. She offered to pay for her as they went to get a coffee. She thanked Lea from the bottom of her heart, because she had restored her faith in people. They’ve been best friends ever since, and she never went back to the ‘celeb’ group.
12 Harmful Things You Do to Your Dog Without Realizing It
How to Keep Your Dog Healthy. If you're a dog owner, you surely want your pet to be healthy and to live a long and happy life. But you might sometimes do things that can potentially harm your canine companion without even realizing it. Here are some common mistakes people unintentionally make when it comes to taking care of their doggies. TIMESTAMPS Choosing the wrong collar 1:00 Leaving a dog alone in the car 3:08 Neglecting your dog's teeth 4:15 Letting your dog eat everything 6:07 Bringing puppies to a dog park 7:47 Using physical punishment 8:13 Providing too little stimulation 9:48 Not securing your dog in the car 10:31 Yelling when your dog does something wrong 11:05 Skipping flea, tick, and worming treatment 11:28 Leaving harmful objects around 11:51 Neglecting breed-specific health issues 12:22 Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY -There are several types of collars, and you need pick the one that best suits the needs and character of your pup, as well as a place to attach his license. Whether you've settled on a harness or gone for a collar, the second (and just as important!) step is making sure it’s the right size. If a collar or harness is too big, your pooch may escape. -Dogs don't sweat like people do, so they can overheat much faster than you’d think. And since they lack this crucial ability to cool themselves off, the consequences of staying in a locked car can turn out fatal. -A dog’s teeth need to be cleaned just like people’s teeth do. Don't use toothpastes and toothbrushes designed for people! There are special ones made just for dogs, and they’re pretty different from the human kinds. -Never feed human food to your dog! It's way too salty, too spicy, and too fatty for them. In fact, most dishes you eat are severely toxic for them. -To start with, dogs can sometimes be passive carriers of diseases. Secondly, grown-up dogs, especially large ones, can be incredibly rough when playing and running around. -Physical punishment doesn’t work and actually does the opposite of what you want – it makes your dog scared of you. Reward-based training is much more effective than physical discipline. -Just like you, dogs need constant mental and physical stimulation-, especially working breeds, which is why regular walking is a must. -If you don’t secure your dog in the car and you end up in an accident, your pet can get seriously injured or even killed. -Dogs don’t understand “NO”, so it only freaks your dog out, especially if you’re ticked off about something that happened a while ago. -Some people say you can take a break from flea, tick, and heartworm medicine in winter if you live in a cold climate, but you really should discuss it with your veterinarian. -Dog-proof your house by putting away anything your pet can chew or swallow. Things like medications, screws and nails, magnets, coins, and batteries should never be within your pet’s reach. -Always do your research before you get a pet so that you’ll know how to best take care of it and what problems to look out for. Are wealthy rich people happy?
Are Wealthy Rich People Any Happier Than People Who Are Financially Struggling? Being rich and wealthy will make most people happier than those who are poor and struggling to pay the rent or mortgage. If that is true how could the poor get into a position to sample a wealthy lifestyle? The truly wealthy people are those that are not only millionaires but multi-millionaires. Like Eddie Jordan a so-called Formula One mogul who recently received access to his new 155 Sunseeker yacht, bigger than an average family house worth thirty-two million pounds. If you think this is wealthy then there are even more wealthier people. On a bigger level are wealthy Chinese who do not buy yachts but buy the yacht companies themselves. Recently, Dalian Wanda Group, the China-based property giant, acquired control of British yacht-maker Sunseeker International for around $500 million. Sunseeker is famous for making the speedboat that appeared in the James Bond film "Quantum of Solace." Dalian Wanda is controlled by billionaire Wang Jianlin. According to recent Pew Research Center surveys, the growing gulf between the rich and poor will likely continue. The percentage of Americans who say they're middle or upper-middle class fell 8 points between 2008 and 2012, to 55 percent, according to Gallup. Individuals and families who feel they've slipped from the middle class are likely to spend and borrow less. Such a pullback, in turn, squeezes the economy, which is fueled mainly by consumer spending. Since mid-2009, some 95 percent of all US income gains have gone to the top 1 percent. Now, even powerful financiers are alarmed by the increased income inequality between rich and poor. "For the past 10, 20, 30 years, capital has moved away from labor and towards corporations and investors," Bill Gross, the most powerful bond manager of his generation and co-head of a $2 trillion investment management firm, says. Money buys happiness. Those who can afford to have their basic material needs taken care of are happier than those who cannot. Money does not buy happiness. After having your basic material needs met, additional money does not have any impact on your levels of happiness. Within some countries, income matters to happiness (Oswald 1997; Diener et al. 2003). Deprivation and abject poverty in particular are very bad for happiness. Yet after basic needs are met, other factors such as rising aspirations, relative income differences, and the security of gains become increasingly important in addition to income. For a majority of people being wealthy is what dreams are made of and not possible unless luck comes in and wealth by being a lottery winner or a long-forgotten relative dies and leaves them a big inheritance. Apart from extreme luck the only way many people can attain their own wealth and happiness is from investing. Forex Elite Investments Ltd have an exclusive opportunity that will help many people who are looking to create enough in order to meet their basic needs and more so they can be in control of their own wealth and happiness.
What Matters Most in Life?
What is the most important thing in life? Money? Happiness? Love? Those things are certainly important, but what matters most is good values. What are values? They are what we consider more important than our feelings. For instance, just about everyone feels like eating junk food, but if you eat whatever you feel like eating you will end up obese and unhealthy. So then, what stops people from eating all the food they feel like eating? The answer is good values. Indeed a lack of good values is the root of virtually everything wrong with the world. In five minutes, learn why we should act based on values rather than our feelings. Donate today to PragerU! http://l.prageru.com/2ylo1Yt Joining PragerU is free! Now try to guess what that might be. For example, is it money? Well it's certainly better to have money than not to, but it's definitely not the most important thing you can have -- just ask all the rich people who are very unhappy -- or, even better, read about most of the people who have won tens of millions of dollars in a lottery. Most of these people actually became less happy, not more. So alright, then, what about love -- is that the most important thing you could ever have? Well, love sure is important. I can't imagine living without it. I sure treasure the love of my friends and the love of my family, but if you don't have the thing I'm about to tell you, you won't receive much love at all. So, let's try a third answer: happiness. Well, that, too, is very, very important. Who wants to be unhappy? But again, without the thing I will tell you about, there would be little happiness in the world. So, here goes -- the most important thing you will ever have is -- drumroll please -- good values. Yes, good values. Now I know that may sound boring and I realize that it's possible that you may have never really thought about values or even know what I'm talking about. So, let me explain. A value is something you think is more important than anything else -- more important than money, more important even than love, and even more important than happiness. And above all, values are what you consider to be more important than your feelings. This is very hard for a lot of people to believe because we live in a time when people think that how they feel about something is more important than anything else, but that isn't so. Here's a simple example of the conflict between a feeling and a value. Just about everyone feels like eating junk food, but there's a big problem here. If you eat whatever you feel like eating you will end up obese and unhealthy. So then, what is it that stops people from eating all the food they feel like eating? The answer is a value -- that's right, a value. And what is that value? Not getting obese and staying healthy. There is, in other words, a necessary battle that goes on inside of most people: the battle between what they feel--in this case the desire to eat junk food -- and a value that they hold -- in this case staying healthy and looking good. Now as important as a healthy body is, this conflict between what we feel like doing and values, is even more important when it comes to doing what is right, when it comes to how we treat other people, not just ourselves. Secrets of Truly Happy People
To all of my beautiful friends on Youtube,
This video is made to encourage everybody out there that Happiness is closer than you think. Reading all your troubled emails and messages really inspired and moved me to make this video on being Truly Happy from the Inside out. Everybody IS on the hunt for happiness right? Everything we ever do is aimed towards being happy. Who doesn't want to be happy? It's proven that happy people live longer and healthier lives. So the question is, why are there so many miserable people on earth today? Our lifestyles are better than ever but we feel more miserable than ever.
This video took me almost 2 months to plan and in this time, I did a lot of soul searching, reading, research and writing. It's my happiest project yet and I've had the most incredible journey putting this video together. I would sleep late feeling inspired and I would be too excited to go to bed. I really hope that this video will touch you in some way to ignite a spark within you to have hope in yourself in the World. I hope you will walk away with something from this video and keep it close to your heart forever.
The reason Youtube is so important to me is because it changed me to become a better person. I finally realize what it means when people say "The more you give, the more you receive". It's an honour hearing you guys tell me that I've made a positive impact in your lives but you guys have no idea what you have also done for me. Thank you so much for allowing me to be in your lives. Thank you so much for inspiring me in so many ways. You teach me valuable lessons, you motivate me to go out there and persevere and you inspire me to live in the moment.   Thank you for giving me the opportunity to make this video. It's not edited in anyway that's impressive but I hope the words were powerful enough to move you. It's my most special video yet because it means the most to me. I believe that Happiness is so much more important than how we look. Most cases, we need to deal with what's inside rather than what's outside.
If this video ignited you to smile, please share this video and spread a little hope, happiness and love today. Happiness is viral right?

I also want to say that this video was hugely inspired by these wonderful authors. Here are some of the books that I read for reference. Just encase you want to check them out for yourself.
Living Beyond your Feelings by Joyce Meyer (I also gained inspiration from her Christian podcasts)   Happy for No Reason by Marci Shimoff (This book was amazing!!!) More Beauty less Beast by Debora M Coty Feel Happy Now by Michael Neill 8 Rules of Happiness by Karl Moore
Music: Instrumentals by Hillsong United. The songs were "You Hold Me Now" and "From The Inside Out".  Turning to Christ has made the biggest impact in my life. I wake up everyday smiling with the best reason to be Happy. I'm nothing without Him. In my happy moments, I praise Him. In my difficult moments, I seek Him. In my quiet moments, I worship Him. In my painful moments, I trust him. In every moment, I thank Him. Praise the Lord. "The Happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything they have" - Unknown.

(Quantum Physics now proves this) We are all governed by a set of Universal Laws, and these laws were created by GOD, to aid us in creating the life we desire. One of these laws is known as the "Law Of Attraction", or the law of "Reaping and Sowing". This law simply states, whatever you give out in Thought, Word, Feeling, and Action is returned to us. Whether the return is negative, or positive, failure or success, is all up to what you give out. Many authors and celebrities such as, Wayne Dyer, Oprah Winfrey, Will Smith, Jim Carrey, Steve Harvey, Rhonda Byrne, and many others have testified to this amazing Law Of Attraction. Its time you learn this wonderful secret... No requirement is necessary. A link will be provided for you once you purchase the gig. You can provide your e mail if you like. You can purchase this audio on Fiverr for only $5 here: I will give you my 1hr long affirmation as a Mp3 Download. Everything that we repeatedly say to ourselves out loud or in our thoughts are an affirmation. The Reticular Activating System (RAS) is a part of our brain that makes words that get repeated over time as part of our identity, positive or negative. Just like sowing seeds in a fruitful garden. When we water and nurture the seeds every day, they will grow (most of them). That´s like repeating an affirmation. If you have a tomato plant seed…you plant that seed…water it (focus)…can you expect to get apples? No of course not. You expect to get tomatoes. That´s how our subconscious mind works. It doesn´t care if you want the seeds you plant to grow. As long as you water and nurture them (affirm repeatedly), they will grow.

How To Be Happy - The Top 10 Habits of Happy People
What makes people happy? What’s the difference between happy people and miserable people? It’s simple. The habits of happy people are different. They act and think different. It doesn’t matter whether you’re rich or poor. Whether you drive a Lamborghini or Honda Civic. Whether you’re good looking or plain… You can be equally happy or equally miserable. You see, your happiness actually lies in your own hands! If you want to improve yourself and be happier, take this advice! Simply implement more of the following positive habits into your life. Encountering negative situations and having to deal with tough times is a part of life. But, you can always try to find the silver lining in every situation, and you CAN change the way you think. If you tend to worry about things that are beyond your control, turn your thoughts instead to things that you CAN control. And take action, rather than fall victim to circumstance. Forgiving and forgetting is also necessary for happiness! You need to learn to forgive yourself and others, and to let go of negative emotions. Accept yourself and be kind to others! This is one of the most practiced healthy habits of happy people! Along with boosting happiness, it can help strengthen social connections and even improve your health. Happiness is just as much a collective phenomenon as it is an individual one – it is contagious! If you want to be happy, surround yourself with happy people. And of course, take the effort to make those around you happy, too. And be sure to spend some money on experiences! Get out there and experience as many things as possible! And let’s not forget about setting goals! Goals give you purpose, meaning, a sense of enthusiasm, and a reason to get up in the morning. And most importantly, they make you incredibly happy. If you want to be a happy person, you also need to take care of your health! This is one of the most important habits of happy people! Getting enough sleep restores your vital bodily functions. Eating nutritious food keeps your body and mind functioning. While regular physical exercise keeps you in shape. Plus, it releases key endorphins that ease depression and enhance mood. And if you really care about your happiness and well-being, limit your consumption of news! What makes YOU happy? Let us know in the comments below! 6 Phrases That Instantly Persuade People
Discover The 4 Emotions You Need To Make a Killer First Impression: https://bit.ly/2xFhSaZ Subscribe to Charisma On Command’s YouTube Account: http://bit.ly/COC-Subscribe Persuasion. When someone is persuaded, it's amazing how positive things turn out. Some psychology on how to persuade someone, empathy, and your personal development off of it will be talked about. You probably like to think of yourself as a rational human being like when you have a decision to make, you take all the information you make a pros and cons list and you add that up to make the best decision possible. But you're a human being and the truth of human beings is we are far more irrational than we'd like to admit. Oftentimes, our decisions come down to the smallest irrational things and oftentimes, that can be just a few words which is why in this video, I want to give you 6 phrases that you can use to turn the tide in your favor when you're trying to persuade someone to do something that you might like. Now, this is not going to be a substitute for really developing a true persuasive strategy, it's not a substitute for empathy but start adding these phrases into your vocabulary and I think you will be shocked with how quickly and how effective they are. So, the first one is when you're coming up against a gatekeeper and the phrase is simply going to be — "Have you ever made an exception?" Now, I used to use this all the time when I would try to get into bars and clubs after it was technically at capacity and it worked pretty well. 0:44 First persuasion phrase is to let them think it won't be a big deal 1:38 A person will more likely be persuaded if you bring empathy to the table 2:58 Make them see you in a positive light and work on your psychology prowess 4:19 Call them by their name 5:14 Another persuasion tactic is the use of the Yes Ladder 6:45 Use the power of "because" More on persuasion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMliNd2b2K0 Connect With Us Further: Website: http://www.charismaoncommand.com Facebook: http://facebook.com/charismaoncommand Instagram: @CharismaOnCommand Or if you want to see our personal stuff (regular life + playing music): Instagram: @CharlieHoupert Instagram: @IamBenAltman

Ever wondered what you were thinking after making a bad decision? Daniel Kahneman explains. To learn more visit our special series, Insider Employers' Minds: http://bigthink.com/blogs/inside-employers-minds Daniel Kahneman: People are not fully rational and they do—they make many choices that if they reflected upon them they would do differently.  There is no question about that. And we have a fair understanding actually of what is happening.  At least at the individual level my sense is that we have explored a lot of what is happening.  I wouldn't say there is going to be no further progress, but we have explored a lot. The major tendencies, well, the major tendencies . . . people tend to frame things very narrowly.  They take a narrow view of decision-making.  They look at the problem at hand and they deal with it as if it were the only problem.  Very frequently, it's a better idea to look at problems as they will recur throughout your life and then you look at the policy that you're to adopt for a class of problems -- difficult to do; would be a better thing.  People frame things narrowly in the sense, for example, that they will save and borrow at the same time instead of somehow treating their whole portfolio of assets as one thing.  If people were able to take a broader view they would, in general, make better decisions.  So that is certainly one of the weaknesses of human decision-making.  We call it narrow framing.  Mental accounting is a big deal.  This is the way that we live, so we have—we keep our money in different mental accounts for which we have different rules, so people will—well of course they spend their spending money, but then there is a hierarchy of the accounts that they will touch.  They will spend money that they have stored for vacation quite often before they will spend whatever they're thinking of as savings for their children's education.  So those are mental accounts for which people have different rules.  More foolishly—this is pretty sensible because mental accounting is a tool of self control—but more foolishly, investors tend to view each stock that they buy as a mental account and they want to sell it when it is a winner.  And so they tend to sell their winners and to hang onto their losers in their portfolio and that turns out to make them substantially poorer than if they had done things differently.  You need to be numerate for certain kinds of decisions.  So numerate people have a significant advantage over those who are not.  Understanding compound interest makes a huge difference whether you're a credit card borrower or somebody with savings.  People have a very hazy idea of compound interest, and it is very detrimental.  So I would say that first of all you need to be numerate, but many people aren't. Then you need to frame things broadly.  It frequently goes with numeracy, but it's not quite the same thing.  And then by taking the broad view, it is very important not to have overly strong emotional reactions to events.  And what I mean by that is that most of us tend to respond to gains and to losses, to changes that happen in our life.  Actually you're better off if you frame things broadly and you think of  . . . you win a few, you lose a few... and you have very limited emotional response to small gains and to small losses.  That tends to induce better decision-making. Directed / Produced byJonathan Fowler & Elizabeth Rodd

My Life With Dwarfism
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Hey, this is Kyle, and he has a condition called Achondroplasia. It means that his torso is of average height, but he has short arms and legs. Kyle wants to share the experience of his everyday life with you. Both of his parents are average-sized, and he’s the only person in his family with dwarfism. As you may have guessed, life as a little person has its difficulties. And yeah, the preferable terms are a little person or a dwarf. NEVER use the word “midget”, because it originates with freak shows and it’s offensive. But of course, he prefers it when people just call him Kyle! Kyle comes up against a lot of difficulties from day to day. At home he has to use a step stool to reach cabinets, but sometimes he just climbs them. And he should probably say that, because he does it so often, he’s now pretty good at it! Of course, most of the things at home, such as his bed, table and chair are made so that they’re comfortable for him to use, but it’s different when he’s somewhere else. Quite often, Kyle can’t reach higher shelves in places like grocery stores (so he has to climb them as well). It’s tiring to sit down while your feet dangle in the air, and it’s always uncomfortable to use ATMs, because he can barely see the display. In order to talk with shop assistants at stores, he has to take a few steps back, because otherwise they wouldn’t see him behind the counter. And then there are elevators! Sometimes Kyle can’t reach the button that he needs, so he rides in it halfway and then use the stairs. And well, climbing stairs is not a pleasant experience for anyone, so you can imagine how it is for him! Even door handles can be inaccessible to him sometimes. Then there is the question of buying clothes. Average-sized clothing is too big for Kyle, so he used to buy children’s clothing. The problem is that usually it looks...well, childish. It’s either too bright or with drawings from kids cartoons. Recently though, he switched to shopping online, which solved most of his problems concerning his choice of clothing. But honestly, Kyle don’t think about these things too often, because he’s used to it, and it’s always been like that. Yeah, sometimes it can be difficult to do something, but whatever – he can live with that! What really bothers him is how people often behave towards him. His parents and friends are awesome and he loves them, of course, and even at school people are used to him and the way he is. They did bully him a bit when he was younger, but now if someone so much as tries to, he and his friends don’t tolerate it. So that’s all okay, but it’s different when he’s out in public and people see him for the first time. Some of them stare, others even point at him and giggle. Some people even take photos of him without trying to hide it. Why do they think it’s okay to take photos of someone without his permission? It makes Kyle feel like he’s part of some kind of display, and he doesn’t like it one bit. He’s a person, not a zoo animal! Some people shout mean things in his direction, and for some reason they think it’s funny! It doesn't happen too often, but it still does occasionally. And also, you can’t imagine how many times someone has come up to him and said that he looks like another little person. It’s often something like “Oh, you look just like Peter Dinklage!” And yes, Peter Dinklage is awesome, but not all little people look the same! He’s 50 years old, and Kyle’s 15! Come on! And it’s the same with other famous little people, such as that family from the reality TV show. You get the idea. There are a lot of other things that drive him crazy, like people trying to talk to him like he’s a child, kneeling down to “his level”, saying how cute he is, or worst of all – someone might PICK HIM UP without asking. That’s not okay! Don’t do that! On the other hand, sometimes people try too hard to be nice, like by trying to help him in the grocery store. If he needs help, he’ll ask for it. Basically, it’s very common for people to treat Kyle like either a child or a circus attraction, and he’s neither. Some parents get uncomfortable when their kids ask questions or point their fingers at him, and they try to walk away from him or even apologize. But Kyle thinks that that’s not how you should do it. Overall, Kyle is a very happy person, and his dwarfism does not define him – he likes to draw; he’s a good student; he particularly likes history and is currently thinking about choosing it somehow as his main subject at college. He’s also curious to find out if there are other little people watching this channel, so comment if you are one of them and don’t forget to share this video! Happiness for Sale -- Cheap!
http://www.cambridgecredit.org -- Transcription: The English poet Alexander Smith once remarked, “A man's real possession is his memory. In nothing else is he rich, in nothing else is he poor.” Some emerging research on the relationship of consumption and happiness shows that Mr. Smith may have been on to something. For centuries, we’ve thought that a little extra cash makes our lives easier. Studies over the last few decades have shown that money, up to a certain point, makes people happier because it lets them meet basic needs. However, the new research on happiness paints a much different picture. Jordi Quoidbach’s report, Money Giveth, Money Taketh Away: The Dual Effect of Wealth on Happiness, which appeared in the August 2010 issue of Psychological Science, has found that although wealth provides opportunities to purchase many things, it simultaneously impairs our ability to enjoy those things. The new research differs from prior studies because it focuses on the emotional impact of our purchases in an attempt to determine which provides us with the most happiness. For instance, researchers have discovered that people are happier when they spend money on experiences rather than on material objects, because they strengthen our self-esteem and social bonds. In that sense, at least, this conclusion is consistent with earlier studies of happiness, which had determined that self-esteem and social bonds are important aspects of the joy we derive from life. The unique aspect of the later research is that it focuses specifically on the effects of the purchases we make. Apparently, paying for experiences gives us longer-lasting happiness because, later on, we can reminisce about them. If you take a moment to think about it, this surprisingly simple observation makes perfect sense. For instance, over the last four years I’ve made my fair share of purchases, I would guess that at least a few may have given me some amount of joy, but I really can’t recall any of them distinctly in that way. On the other hand, I clearly remember a camping trip I went on with friends. Although that trip was relatively inexpensive, the experience of spending time with good friends is a treasured memory. The reason that purchases provide less joy than experiences has to do with a principle psychologists call hedonic adaptation. This is similar to the premise that time heals all wounds, except it applies to both positive and negative circumstances. Hedonic adaptation allows people to quickly adjust to changes, great or terrible, in order to maintain a stable level of happiness. Over time, that means the joy from a new purchase is pushed toward the emotional norm; therefore, we stop getting pleasure from it. A professor of psychology at the University of California, concluded a recent article on the subject with a fitting analysis, “Happiness is a choice. We can choose to become never-satisfied janitors of our possessions, or we can use our money in ways that improve our worlds and, as a bonus, supply us with genuine and lasting well-being.” If we look back over the last few years, what have our purchases done for us? Many of us have tried to keep up with the Joneses in pursuit of bigger homes, the latest technology, and a host of other possessions, while compromising our futures in the process. As a country, we manage titanic amounts of debt, which, as we’ve discovered, really hasn’t brought us much happiness in return. That’s an experience we can all learn from, and if we do, there might be some good to come out of this recession after all. Well, that’s it for this edition. As always, we welcome your feedback and ask for your thoughts and suggestions by e-mailing us at [email protected] Thank you for watching. Until next time, I’m Thomas Fox for Cambridge Credit Counseling.

These pleasures do bring happiness, but only temporarily. Recent studies have shown that true happiness, or life satisfaction, works a bit differently.||In one study, University of Pennsylvania psychologist Martin Seligman categorized hundreds of people into three groups based on how they pursued happiness:||The Pleasant Life: People in pursuit of the Pleasant Life seek happiness by looking for pleasure. They are good at savoring the moment and making their pleasures last. These people are often described as “thrill-seekers.”||The Engaged Life: People in pursuit of the Engaged Life seek happiness by working hard at their passions. They immerse themselves so deeply in these that they sometimes come across as cold and uncaring; but for them, time seems to melt away as they experience a state of total engagement.||The Meaningful Life: People in pursuit of the Meaningful Life use their strengths to work toward something they believe contributes to a greater good. This greater good motivates them deeply.||Seligman found that people who pursued the Pleasant Life experienced little happiness, while those who pursued the Meaningful Life and the Engaged Life were very happy.||While Seligman’s research is just a single study, it shows that where you focus your energy and attention has a big impact on your happiness. Those who pursued the Engaged Life and the Meaningful Life had something important in common—they were deeply passionate, and they used their strengths to better themselves and the world around them.||Indeed, happy people are highly intentional. If you want to follow in their footsteps, learn to incorporate the following habits into your repertoire.||1. Create your own happiness (don’t sit back and wait for it). Every second you waste waiting for happiness is a second you could have been using to create it. The happiest people aren’t the luckiest, wealthiest, or best-looking; the happiest people are those who make an effort to be happy. If you want to create your own happiness, you have to start by making it a priority. We work so hard to avoid letting other people down, but we so often do so at the expense of our own happiness.||2. Surround yourself with the right people. Happiness is contagious. Surrounding yourself with happy people builds confidence and stimulates creativity, and it’s flat-out fun. Hanging around negative people has the opposite effect—they want people to join their pity party so that they can feel better about themselves. Think of it this way: If a person were smoking, would you sit there all afternoon inhaling the second-hand smoke?||3. Get enough sleep. I’ve beaten this one to death over the years and can’t say enough about the importance of sleep to improving your mood, focus, and self-control. When you sleep, your brain literally recharges, removing toxic proteins that accumulate during the day as byproducts of normal neuronal activity. This ensures that you wake up alert and clear-headed. Your energy, attention, and memory are all reduced when you don’t get enough quality sleep. Sleep deprivation also raises stress hormone levels on its own, even without a stressor present. Happy people make sleep a priority, because it makes them feel great and they know how lousy they feel when they’re sleep deprived.||4. Live in the moment. You can’t reach your full potential until you learn to live your life in the present. No amount of guilt can change the past, and no amount of anxiety can change the future. It’s impossible to be happy if you’re constantly somewhere else, unable to fully embrace the reality (good or bad) of this very moment. To help yourself live in the moment, you must do two things: First, accept your past. If you don’t make peace with your past, it will never leave you and, in doing so, it will create your future. Second, accept the uncertainty of the future. Worry has no place in the here and now. As Mark Twain once said

Why Do People Cheat | Tony Robbins Podcast
When Esther Perel, an internationally acclaimed couples therapist and relationship expert, set out to write a book about relationships, she didn’t just focus on the happy ones. She was intrigued by not only joyful, long-lasting unions, but also the couples who had been affected by hard times — including cheating. “What happens when desire goes looking elsewhere?” asks Perel. As a society, we tend to look at affairs as the ultimate act of betrayal. However, Perel argues that roughly 80% of people are affected by affairs. Whether you’ve experienced cheating in your own romantic relationship or were aware of your parent, sibling or friend engaging in an affair, most people’s lives are touched by affairs in some proximity. So, why do people cheat? Esther Perel claims that as people grow, they are looking to reinvent themselves. Some people find these reinventions alongside their partner, creating new rituals and practices with their spouse. Others turn outside the marriage to fill new needs, ultimately causing cheating in a relationship. There are two primary reasons why people cheat: One partner feels neglect, loneliness or sexual frustration in their relationship. This causes the partner to feel hungry for warmth and attention. They want to feel appreciated and no longer feel that way at home. The second main reason for cheating shockingly occurs within lots of marriages, even the happy ones. Perel regularly encounters clients who come into her office saying they deeply love their partner and don’t want to hurt them, but that they’re having an affair. Why does this happen? These people may be completely happy with their committed relationship but are choosing to express a different side of themselves with another partner. It’s not always true that they couldn’t express this part of themselves with their spouse, but that they’re choosing to not bring that aspect of their personality home. Over the six years that Perel studied infidelity, she often found that the scenario mentioned above caused people to feel “alive.” Those in happy marriages who were cheating felt a sense of excitement when engaged in their illicit affair. They felt connected with their passion. “Maybe sometimes when people have an affair, it’s not that they want to leave the person that they are with, but they want to leave the person that they have become,” says Perel. Those asking “Why do I cheat?” would benefit from doing some introspective thinking. Have you changed since you entered your marriage? Have you encountered disappointment? Did you fail to create a career you loved? Did you not have children like you thought you would? Essentially, does your life look different than how you planned, and is that what’s making you unhappy? Oftentimes, it’s not about your partner — it’s about your growth, or lack of growth. People have six human needs that need to be met. When a relationship lacks one of those areas, partners will look outside the marriage to have those needs met — particularly, the needs for certainty, significance and variety. Are you certain in your love for your partner? Do they make you feel important? Are you getting enough variety in your marriage? Everything else can look incredible on paper, but if these needs aren’t being met, you won’t feel fulfilled in your relationship. If couples realized that they could find all of these needs being met within their relationship, they wouldn’t stray. You can create variety in your relationship while still ensuring your partner feels significant and certain in your bond. You have the power to recreate your relationship over the years so that it continuously meets the needs of you and your partner. What's It Going To Take?
So many times people feel obligated to attend church. They don't attend because it makes them happy; they attend because they feel they have too or that they have a job to do. So, what's it going to take to have people attend because church makes them happy? We, as humans, are always searching for things to make us happy. We buy material items thinking the latest and greatest thing will finally make us happy. However, it never truly satisfies us and we seek something else. We think money will bring us happiness so we spend and spend and spend but are never truly happy with anything. We continually seek 'things' to 'make' us happy. What's it going to take to make us happy? What we don't realize is, we are broken and that brokenness can only be filled by God. Once we realize we are broken and aren't perfect, that's when we can turn to Christ and truly have God in our hearts. When we do realize that brokenness, we can then ask God into our heart. When we do, He will share his yoke with us to lighten our burden and then we will know true happiness. What's it going to take for you to trust in Jesus? Happiness Shortcut: The Shortcut To Happiness
Happiness: The Easiest Way Even If You Are Broke, Depressed or Hopeless *** Heads up: I'm offering a free audio mp3 so you can learn 6 Law of Attraction Life Hacks that will allow you to implement the Law of Attraction everyday in an effortless way. http://kennysantos.com/loalifehacks/ *** Whether you are sad because your life is low or happy because your life is high, you are a victim of circumstance. People are searching for happiness. They think money will get them there. But there are plenty of people that have money that are not happy. I recently ran into one of my friends. She told me that she was in the worst health of her life. Financially, she was also in a very tough spot but she was grateful and I could tell by the look in her eyes that she was happy. Genuinely happy. There is a short cut to happiness and if you know the short cut, you can be happy even if you are broke or in poor health. Stop The Judgement The reason why people are not happy is because they think something should be a certain way but their circumstances don't match. In 2008, I lost everything. I lost my home, my car, my marriage. My son was just born and I wasn't able to spend as much time with him as I wanted to. I was a mess. It was a low time in my life. I was disappointed with myself and it took every ounce of energy for me to get out of bed. The reason why I was so sad was because I judged the situation that I was in. I felt that I should be back with my wife. I felt that I shouldn't be homeless. I felt that I should see my son more. But what if I didn't judge the situation? If I Iooked at the situation as neither good nor bad then I wouldn't have hurt so deeply. On the flip side, what if I wanted to be divorced, homeless and to spend time with my son? I would've been happy. This isn't to say that you should just accept our life circumstances. Just learn to live with what you have and be grateful for it. That's not what I mean. Adam and Eve I am a Catholic raised Buddhist and I've heard the story of Adam and Eve many times. This is how it was told to me. Adam and Eve lived in the Garden of Eden. It was paradise to them. They had free reign and could do what they wanted. God gave them permission to enjoy the Garden of Paradise. They could eat anything they wanted accept the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge. If they ate that fruit, then they would be cast out of the Garden of Paradise and not allowed to return. However, they ended up eating the fruit and they were kicked out. What If? What if after eating the fruit they weren't really "kicked" out of the garden? What if instead of them leaving the garden, the garden "changed" for them? Why would it change? They gained knowledge from that tree, what if that knowledge included judgement and because they gained judgement, the garden was no longer paradise for them. Without judgement, it was easy for Adam and Eve to be happy. Because they had judgement they didn't mind that they had to work the soil so the plants to grow. They didn't mind that they had to work in the hot sun. They didn't mind that the bugs bit them. They didn't mind all of these things that many of us find unpleasant. However, since they ate the fruit, the Garden didn't really change but their perception of the Garden did. With the knowledge of judgement, the garden was no long paradise. They didn't like it as much because the knowledge of judgement allowed them to recognize the discomfort. If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. ~ Wayne Dyer Judgement Leads To Disappointment This isn't about just accepting life's circumstances. It's about making the most of what you have. I want you to recognize that if you don't like something, it's because of your perception of it. It's because you judge it as bad. Do your best to take away the judgement because it leads to disappointment. It's hard to attract abundance if you are disappointed. When you are disappointed, you have less energy, you are less motivated and you'll have a difficult time getting yourself out of current situation. Learn how to take the judgement away and make the most of what you have. This will give you a better attitude and more energy and that will lead to more opportunities and more people that want to do business with you. Did This Help You? Joel Osteen - Don't Rely On People
Are you relying on what others say or don’t say for your value? Are you frustrated today because you don’t have the support from others around you? One of the greatest lessons in life is to learn that your true value does not come from people; it comes from Almighty God. Yet many people today rely on the complements, encouragement and approval of others to feel good about themselves and stay motivated. Paul said in Philippians 4:13, “I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency.” Let Joel show you who you are in Christ and how to go to Him for your value and self-worth. As you apply these biblical principles, not only will you live a more peaceful life, but your relationships will improve, too! This is Message #691 "Don't Rely on People" by Joel Osteen.
