PowerShell Snapins and Modules

09:10
More videos like this online at http://www.theurbanpenguin.com To really know your system properly you have to leave behind the vendor education and research on your own. Citrix mention the XenApp PowerShell snapins on their courses but leave no mentions of the equally important modules.May be you wouldn't expect them to explain the difference but you would expect them to expose the management tools to you. In this video we look at the difference between modules and snapins and see what cmdlets are in the Citrix Modules

Exchange and Office 365 Mail Contact Import using PowerShell

13:42
Automates bulk import of mail contacts into Exchange and Office 365 / Exchange Online from a CSV file using a PowerShell script. Provides a PowerShell-based tool to import (and later remove if needed) mail contacts into Exchange server or Exchange Online/Office 365 from a properly-formatted CSV file. Leverages automatic Exchange discovery to minimize configuration and software requirements. While there are a number of scripts available that perform a similar import function, they often require extra inputs and are confusing to use. The aim here is to remove as much of the friction as possible. Simply drop the solution files onto an up-to-date Windows 7/8/2008 R2/2012+ machine, and you should be able to run the script right away. This script creates mail contacts in Exchange (which are really objects in the associated Active Directory domain) from records in a comma-separated values (CSV) format. Download the script and more here: https://automys.com/library/asset/exchange-and-office-365-mail-contact-import-using-powershell

Office 365 Basic Powershell Cmdlets Azure Active Directory Module

13:01
Volume may need to be increased - I can never get the bloody levels right haha. Office 365 uses the cloud-based user authentication service Azure Active Directory to manage users. You can choose from three main identity models in Office 365 when you set up and manage user accounts. Cloud identity. Manage your user accounts in Office 365 only. No on-premises servers are required to manage users; it's all done in the cloud. In this model, you create and manage users in the Office 365 admin center and store the accounts in Azure AD. Azure AD verifies the passwords. Azure AD is the cloud directory that is used by Office 365. No on-premises servers are required — Microsoft manages all that for you. When identity and authentication are handled completely in the cloud, you can manage user accounts and user licences through the Office 365 admin center or Windows PowerShell cmdlets.
