19:12
This video explains the steps to install Exchange Server 2003. Remeber to view the system requirements before you try to set it up if not then your computer will be crashing and lagging like crazy. Read the steps carefully if you mess up once you have to do the whole procedure again. Also here is the command to start forestprep and domainprep as you can see i completely forgot about the command. E:\setup\I386\Setup /forestprep E:\setup\I386\Setup /domainprep Remember to Change E: as your own drive. Stay Tuned for Part 2 we will be configuring it and allowing other people to "try" to long in from the internet. WE can't send email though we need mail routing for that and you have to pay for that MX record. Alrighty then Remember to comment, like, dislike it kinda gives me a feedback!!

2012R2 DC ROLLUP SCHEMA FSMO & Server Changes

12:12
I don't know if anyone has noticed how I mysteriously change my clothing in this video! Today I'm doing server tasks, more specifically rolling up Windows server to R2 on our newest Domain Controller. Two of our other DCs run 2003 Server and need to be upgraded, to do this I first had to move the FSMO roles and upgrade the schema. This video shows how I moved these roles to change the domain master. To do this you have to move the roles run adprep. / Here's the guides I used to help me out. http://blogs.technet.com/b/canitpro/archive/2014/04/02/step-by-step-active-directory-migration-from-windows-server-2003-to-windows-server-2012.aspx https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/1b8cd762-3f95-4ff9-9d9e-75b04e067d2a/server-2008-dhcp-assigns-leases-but-never-displays-leases-in-the-gui?forum=winserverNIS Thanks for watching, as always please like, subscribe and share this video and I'll see you next time guys! How to migrate from Exchange 2003 directly to Exchange 2013

06:36
Cut migration time significantly when migrating from Microsoft Exchange 2003 straight to Exchange 2013. Natively, this type of migration is not supported by Microsoft and administrators have to perform an interim migration to Exchange 2007 or 2010 and then to Exchange 2013. Test for free: http://www.codetwo.com/exchange-migration/2003-to-2013?sts=3472 It's not only time consuming, but also requires you to deploy additional hardware for each of the steps of the double hop migration process. CodeTwo Exchange Migration will help you migrate from Exchange 2003 directly to 2013 for a fraction of the price of any other third-party products. Upgrade Windows Server 2012 to 2012 R2

11:18
This video will perform an in-place upgrade of Windows Server 2012 Domain Controller to Windows Server 2012 R2. Check out http://YouTube.com/ITFreeTraining or http://itfreetraining.com for more of our always free training videos. An in-place upgrade will keep the existing documents and settings on the server. Windows Server 2012 R2 is consider an incremental upgrade as it adds features to the operating system rather than make major changes to the operating system. Download the PDF handout http://ITFreeTraining.com/handouts/server/upgrade-r2.pdf Requirements Before you deploy your first Windows Server 2012 R2 Domain Controller, either upgrading an existing Domain Controller or promoting an existing Windows Server 2012 R2 Domain Controller, there are a few requirements that need to be met before the first Domain Controller is deployed. 1) Before installing the first Windows Server 2012 R2 Domain Controller, all existing Domain Controllers need to be upgraded to Windows Server 2003 or above. 2) ADPrep /ForestPrep needs to be run once in the forest. ADPrep can be found on the Windows Server 2012 R2 DVD. It only needs to be run once before the first Windows Server 2012 R2 Domain Controller is deployed. You should use the latest DVD that you have to make sure that your schema is the most recently update as possible. 3) ADPrep /DomainPrep needs to be run in each domain that you plan to deploy Windows Server 2012 R2 Domain Controllers. It only needs to be run once. If you want to try Windows Server 2012 R2, you can add it at any time to the domain as a member server. You do not need to run ADPrep before adding the Windows Server 2012 R2. This is only required if the server is a Domain Controller or being promoted to a Domain Controller. Demonstration In this demonstration NYDC1, which is running Windows Server 2012, will be upgraded to Windows Server 2012 R2. 1) In order to perform an in-place upgrade, the operating system that you want to upgrade needs to be booted. When this is booted the setup program needs to be run from the DVD to start the upgrade process. 2) Once the setup has started, select the option install now. 3) Since an operating system is already loaded, setup has access to the networking on the operating system and thus can download updates before the install starts. It is a good idea to download updates before the install as this may help the upgrade run smoother. 4) The next screen will ask for your product key. The product key will determine which edition of Windows will be installed. 5) The next screen will ask which edition for Windows Server you will install. Generally the option here will be server core and GUI. The particular edition that will show is the editions on the DVD that are compatible with the product key that you entered. 6) This screen will ask you to accept the license agreement. It is just a matter of ticking the tick box and moving on. 7) On the "what type of installation do you want", the top option "Upgrade: Install Windows and keep files, settings and applications" needs to be selected. This will upgrade the existing operating system. The second option "custom: install Windows only (advanced)" will install a fresh copy of Windows and thus any programs, documents or settings will not be kept. 8) Setup will perform a compatibility check of the system. This will check for any known problems that may cause problems with the upgrade. For example, if there is not enough memory in the computer this will be reported. However, 3rd party software is not tested, so you will need to check with your vendor if this software is compatible. ADPrep ADPrep is found on the setup DVD in the folder source\ADPrep\ADPrep.exe Run ADPrep /ForestPrep once in the forest. Run ADPrep /DomainPrep once in each domain. Once complete, you can run the command RepAdmin /SyncAll /APeD This command will force a sync to all the other Domain Controllers in the domain. It is a good idea to wait for a domain sync after running ADPrep if you are planning to deploy a Domain Controller shortly after running ADPrep See http://YouTube.com/ITFreeTraining or http://itfreetraining.com for our always free training videos. This is only one video from the many free courses available on YouTube. MCITP 70-640: Managed Service Accounts

12:38
This video looks at some of the new features in Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7 that can automate the management of service accounts. If your application supports it, using managed service accounts means that the password of the service account is automatically changed periodically without any interaction from the administrator. What is a service account A service account is a user account that is created to run a particular service or software. In order to have good security, a service account should be created for each service/application that is on your network. On large networks this will mean a lot of service accounts and the management of these service accounts can become difficult, thus this is where Managed Service Accounts can help. Computer Accounts A computer account is like a user account in that it has a password. The difference is that the password for a computer account is automatically updated by Windows with no interaction from the user. Managed Service Accounts uses the same process to manage the password for a Managed Service Account. Refer here for information about computer accounts http://itfreetraining.com/70-640/computer-accounts Managed Service Accounts Passwords The password that is associated with a Managed Service Account (MSA) is automatically changed every 30 days. It is a random string of 120 characters so it offers better security than standard passwords even if the standard password uses upper and lower case letters combined with non alphanumeric characters. Unless of course the administrator wants to use their own 120 character password which is difficult for an administrator to work with. Like a computer account, the Managed Service Account is bound to one computer and thus cannot be used on a computer that it was not designed to work with. This provides additional security. Requirements In order to start using Managed Service Accounts you need to meet a few requirements. Domain Functional Level: This needs to be Windows Server 2008 R2 or above. Forest Functional Level: Does not require any particular forest level. Schema changes: The schema needs to be up to date. Run ADPrep /ForestPrep to update the schema to the latest version using a Windows Server 2008 R2 DVD or above. Client: The Managed Service Account can only be used on Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows 7. Software components: .Net Frame work 3.5 and Active Directory module for Windows Powershell are required for Managed Service Accounts. Supported Software Not all software will work with a Managed Service Accounts. Managed Service Accounts do not allow the software to interact with the Desktop. Thus a Managed Service Account cannot be used to login and cannot be used to display GUI based Windows. Listed below are common software and if they can use a Managed Service Account. Exchange: Yes, but the Managed Service Account cannot be used for sending e-mail. IIS: Yes, can be used with application pools. SQL Server: Some people have got Managed Service Accounts to work with SQL but Microsoft does not support it. Task Scheduler: No AD LDS: Yes, Active Directory Light Weight Service works with a Managed Service Account, however a special procedure does need to be followed in order to get it to work. Description to long for YouTube. For the rest please see http://itfreetraining.com/70-640/managed-service-accounts See http://YouTube.com/ITFreeTraining or http://itfreetraining.com for our always free training videos. Domain Controller Migration [Windows Server 2008 R2 to Server 2012]

15:59
★Domain Controller Migration [Windows Server 2008 R2 to Server 2012] It's time to upgrade your current Windows Server 2003 or Windows Server 2008 domain controller to Windows Server 2012, but you can't because the hardware doesn't support Windows Server 2012. That means you have to purchase new hardware and rebuild that server to Windows Server 2012. Once that is done, you have to migrate your Windows Server 2003 or Windows Server 2008 FSMO (Flexible Single Master Operations) roles to your new domain controller. Support the video by giving it a "LIKE", it will help me out. 35% Discount on GoDaddy referral code WOWBTNHD Come follow me at Twitter: http://twitter.com/bjtechews Tech Site: http://bjtechnews.org Instagram: http://instagram.com/bjtechnews# Google+: https://plus.google.com/+BJTechNewsOrg/posts Windows 8 App (BJTechNews): http://goo.gl/54iBA Twitch.tv Channel: http://twitch.tv/bjtechnews Facebook: http://facebook.com/bjtechnews Sound Effects by http://audiomicro.com/sound-effects The Epidemic Sounds by http://epidemicsound.com
