Processed Food Documentary: Processed Food vs. Nutritional Needs. The human body runs on food. Once, food shortage was the major concern. After the second world war, technological advances in food production led to a new era, that was characterized by an overabundance of inexpensive food, and relatively little physical activity. In the decades that followed, other sociocultural shifts continued to contribute to the changing way we ate. Women who had previously controlled most of the average family's food preparation now entered the workforce in significant numbers. And the processed food industry began to capitalize on our need for fast, convenient food. This meant that fewer meals were being cooked at home. And since convenience foods were generally higher in calories than home-cooked meals, the average person's caloric intake increased dramatically. Maya Adam, MD, is waging a battle cry against one of America’s most critical – and challenging – public health crises of our generation: childhood obesity. A lecturer at Stanford School of Medicine and in Stanford University’s human biology program, she is leading the cause through education. As always, use this info to gather more info. We know some products are really dangerous for our health, and other products are good for us as they are healthy. It turns out it’s not so simple and some of the most promoted and popular foods can, in fact, harm you. Never eat these 10 dangerous foods for the sake of your own health and the health of your family. Even if you see the juice labels “not from concentrate” or “100% pure”, don't let this fool you. Juice, after being squeezed from different fruits, is kept in huge vacuum-sealed tanks where it can sit for up to a year before being packaged! And by that time, the juice has lost all its flavor, which is why manufacturers have to add artificial flavoring to make it taste fruity again. In most cases, cereals are loaded with refined carbohydrates and sugar. Even if the label assures you that it's fat-free and whole grain, check the list of ingredients. You'll most likely see that the product is full of sugar. Despite common belief, most yogurts don't contain probiotic bacteria since the process of pasteurization kills all these microorganisms. When consumed, trans-fats in ice-cream can cause high cholesterol, stroke, heart disease, and even cancer. Ice cream is also loaded with sugar, artificial flavors, and synthetic preservatives. And if it’s pink, purple, or red, it’s most likely been colored with cochineal extract or carmine, additives which can cause bad allergic reactions. Popcorn has some genetically modified ingredients as well as taste-boosting chemicals and additives. This leads to health problems such as heart attacks, digestive issues, allergies, skin rashes, breathing problems, and the depressing list goes on. Even more, popcorn is extremely caloric. Music: Vibe Mountain - Great Hope The 126ers - Reversed Eclipse Rondo Brothers - Yellow Gold Kevin MacLeod - Jay Jay Silent Partner - Pink Lemonade https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music TIMESTAMPS Fruit juices 0:37 Energy bars 1:42 Cereal 2:31 Margarine 3:21 Low-fat yogurt 4:11 Ice cream 5:01 Eggs 6:07 Microwave popcorn 7:09 Sugar-free candy 8:32 Diet soda 9:26 SUMMARY -Store-bought juices may contain some real fruit, but most of their content is water, sugar, and artificial flavoring. -Protein bars and energy bars alike are usually processed products containing sugar, artificial flavors and sweeteners. -Breakfast cereals typically contain a teeny tiny amount of whole grains, which allows producers to mark their product as healthy, but they also contain unhealthy sugar. -Margarine is typically made from industrial vegetable oils hydrogenated to become solid, a process that significantly increases the oils’ trans-fat content. -Manufacturers load “low-fat” yogurts with sugar to make up for the lack of taste usually provided by the natural fats. -Instead of pure milk or cream, manufacturers use cheaper hydrogenated fats such as palm- or coconut oil to produce ice-cream. These oils, when heated, become nothing more than trans-fats. -One egg contains as much cholesterol as a big greasy burger. -Microwave popcorn’s almost always lined with the same toxic substance you can find in Teflon pans. -If candy doesn’t contain sugar, it contains artificial sweeteners such as aspartame, sucralose, and saccharine. These substances are chemically processed and may cause some serious side effects. -Artificial sweeteners in diet soda can easily lead to weight gain as they trigger the production of insulin, which makes your body store fat. How to lose belly fat? How to lose weight fast without exercises? Doctors say that this diet is the most effective way to improve your overall condition. According to the National Institute of Health, it scored a 3.3 out of 5 in the “Weight Loss Effectiveness” category and 4.5 out of 5 in “Health Usefulness”. Out of 40 diets evaluated, it was chosen number one! So who is this all-star? It’s something called the DASH diet. The DASH diet is an easy, safe, and useful plan that can help you feel better and get rid of excess weight. You can lose weight gradually, no starving or yo-yo dieting. It won’t shock or stress your body out. DASH stands for Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension. It’s a diet developed specifically to reduce blood pressure in those with hypertension. But scientists understood later on that this diet resolves tons of other health issues. It reduces cholesterol, prevents stroke and heart failure, and brings the weight down to a healthy level, even for those with obesity. Plus, it’s considered the best diet to prevent diabetes. Besides controlling blood pressure, people following it managed to improve insulin resistance. TIMESTAMPS What's it all about? 1:23 A few general rules to lose weight 2:15 What you can eat to lose fat 3:37 What food you should avoid for losing weight 5:13 How to plan your diet 5:44 Weight loss benefits 6:18 Is it easy to follow the DASH eating plan? 7:17 SUMMARY The DASH diet wasn't originally designed for weight loss, but there have been some studies proving that this eating plan can help people get rid of unwanted pounds. The DASH diet balances all the necessary nutrients and minerals, like calcium, potassium, protein, and fiber, that are responsible for brain and overall organ function. It improves the condition of your hair and skin as well. What’s convenient about this diet is that you don't have to calculate and monitor each nutrient: you just need to reduce your salt intake and eat certain recommended foods, for instance, fruits, vegetables, grains, protein-rich foods, and dairy products. Compared to trendy crash diets, DASH is different. This is a complete lifestyle change. It’s for people who need to take care of their eating habits throughout their lives. There’s no cutting out or starving involved. You can have all sorts of tasty dishes. Have you ever tried the DASH diet? If so, how did you like it? Tell us in the comments below. We got familiar with diet specialists’ recommendations and put together 7 food combinations you’d better avoid. These food combinations can affect your digestion system badly and even make you sick. 😱 TIMESTAMPS Sandwiches with coffee 1:14 Tomatoes with cucumbers 2:30 Potatoes with meat 3:34 Pasta with minced meat 4:41 Beer with nuts 5:38 Dairies with pineapple 7:06 Milk with banana 8:06 SUMMARY - Unfortunately, when you say hello to cheese sandwiches and coffee, you also say goodbye to all the healthy properties of cheese. The main reason is that the simple carbs in bread prevent calcium from being digested properly and bringing help to your nervous and cardiovascular systems. Moreover, if you add instant coffee, there will be no benefit to your health at all! - The latest research actually shows that combining these two vegetables can disturb the biochemical pathways of your body. This can lead to excessive calcination and swelling, and the vitamins contained in both vegetables won’t be digested properly. Above all, these products have different digestion time, which again, confuses the system. - Potatoes with meat: the starch contained in potatoes demands alkalotic digestive fluids, and the proteins from meat demand acidic ones. So, when put together, they just get stuck inside your stomach and can bring such disorders as heartburn, belching, gas, and many others. - Just like with potatoes and meat, the same reasoning applies to minced meat with pasta. The salivary glands produce ptyalin and amylase, which transform the starch carbs in pasta into simple sugars. - Salty products contain a lot of sodium, so your body increases the fluid loss, and you get thirsty. That increases the likelihood of having more and more pints of beer. On the other hand, beer, as the third most consumed drink in the world after water and tea, has a couple of bad effects on your system as well. - Pineapple and dairy don't really go well together. Sour fruits make your digestion work slower, especially in the morning. Besides, pineapple contains bromelain, an enzymic complex which can cause intoxication when combined with dairy products. - Combining bananas with milk, as a smoothie or milkshake may disturb your digestion process as well as your sleep pattern. Also, different flavors of these products confuse your digestion system and result in different kinds of imbalances. Why are Japanese people so thin? What do people eat in Japan? While the rest of the world is seeing anywhere from 15 to over 30% of its population severely overweight, Japan has managed to keep that number at just 3.6%. When it comes to health tips, it's better to turn to the country with the longest life expectancy and one of the lowest obesity rates on the planet. If you’re ready to find out how the Japanese manage to stay so effortlessly thin, keep our new video! In Japan, they usually stick to 3 wholesome meals a day that don’t leave them hungry or dealing with sudden cravings. Those who do snack keep it in small quantities and with a lot of moderation. Also, the secret to Japan’s success begins with their diet, which is pretty carb-heavy and low in saturated fats. Their main dishes of choice include vegetables, grains, fish, and meat. Dairy products and fruits are consumed in moderation. They tend to stay away from foods with excessive amounts of salt and sugar, like burgers and soda. TIMESTAMPS: Diet 0:50 No snacking 1:39 Fast food 2:02 Eating on time 2:58 Exercise for kids 3:44 Portion sizes 4:27 A great public transportation system 5:20 Tea time 6:15 Dinnerware 7:25 Food as an experience 8:09 #japan #japanesediet #japanesefood Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: - The secret to Japan’s success begins with their diet, which is pretty carb-heavy and low in saturated fats. Their main dishes of choice include vegetables, grains, fish, and meat. - Just like the rest of the world, a lot of Japanese people have a hectic schedule that doesn’t leave a lot of time or opportunity to prepare a home-cooked meal. In that case, they can turn to their version of fast food, which is usually a lot healthier and resembles home-style cooking. - Most Japanese people have very regulated meal times. They eat 3 filling meals a day, with breakfast usually happening between 8 and 9am, lunch from 12 to 1pm, and dinner between 6 and 8pm. - It’s a lot more common for Japanese children to walk or cycle to school. Of course, other countries have a lot of reasons why it might not be efficient or safe for kids to hoof it to class. - Portion sizes have been on a steep rise in the last 20 years throughout the world. For example, countries like Australia, Canada, Germany, the U.S., and the U.K. have much larger fast food portions than Japan. - Separate bicycle lanes and plenty of safe areas for pedestrians are common sites in Japan. This allows the Japanese to naturally burn calories as they commute to and from work or school every day. - Tea, especially the green variety, is the number one beverage in Japan. Green tea has been praised for having a ton of major health benefits, like increasing metabolism, burning fat, fighting anxiety, and reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease, to name a few. - The practice of using chopsticks also helps in weight management, since they make you eat more slowly and in smaller bites. This slow process of eating helps people catch when they’re feeling full and avoid eating too much. The fact that food is served on a bunch of plates also slows down the process. - The number one way that the Japanese stay thin has to do with removing distractions and being mindful about the process of food consumption. Eating in Japan is treated with respect. These are 6 High Very Estrogen Foods ALL Men Should Avoid to build muscle, lose weight, and get lean. Some foods should be limited and others should be completely avoided. Instead of increasing estrogen most men want to learn how to increase testosterone naturally & fast. By learning how to decrease estrogen levels, weight loss becomes much easier. 🔥 FREE 6 Week Body Transformation Challenge: http://bit.ly/lose-fat5 ☝️☝️☝️ Timestamps: Soy - 0:41 Wheat and grain based products - 2:32 Processed Carbs and Refined Sugars - 3:52 Beer - 5:28 Beans - 7:12 Bottled Water - 8:27 The next food that you'll want to limit to keep your estrogen levels down is wheat and grain based products. These foods are extremely high in a type of xenoestrogen known as zearalenone or ZEA. ZEA is molecularly similar to estrogen and acts like estrogen in the body. One study examined the effect that ZEAs had on a drug called Letrozole, which is specifically designed to lower estrogen levels in the body. Bodybuilders will often take it get to really low levels of body fat. The researchers found that, even small amounts of ZEA negated the effects of Letrozole. That’s a powerful indicator of the estrogen boosting effect of all those ZEA’s that are found in wheat and grain products. As well as the ZEA problem, wheat also contains phytoestrogens. They’re found in the wheat germ which is the reproductive part of the wheat seed. These phytoestrogens will bind to estrogen receptor sites in your body’s cells. In a study that was designed to investigate the combined effect of wheat germ and a breast cancer treatment pharmaceutical it was noted that one of the side effects of wheat germ was that it increased estrogen receptor activity of MCF-7 cells. However, refined grain products remove the germ, making them slightly less of a problem when it comes to estrogen. Overall though, you should limit your consumption of wheat and grain based products. Our third estrogen food type to avoid is processed carbs and refined sugars. Hopefully, you’ve already cut back on these types of foods if you're trying to bring your body fat levels down. But there’s an extra reason to ditch these types of carbs. And it has to do with that powerful blood sugar regulating hormone, insulin. As well as causing you to store more body fat, insulin lowers your body’s levels of what is known as sex hormone binding globulin. The job of this globulin is to bind the two sex hormones, testosterone and estrogen, together. When it's doing its job properly, you will have limited amounts of free estrogen in your body. But, when it's stopped from doing its job, the opposite will be the case, your free estrogen levels will be much higher. It’s the insulin response that occurs when you eat refined sugar foods that causes the interference in the activity of sex hormone binding globulin. An interesting study that focused on women showed that drinking sugar laden sodas increased estrogen levels. The interesting thing was that increased estrogen levels did not occur with either diet sodas or fruit juices. Researchers believe this is due to the fact that diet sodas don’t contain refined sugar and fruit juice contains natural fruit sugars. Another estrogen related problem with sugar consumption is that, eating too much sugar leads to an increase in stored body fat. Fat cells excrete estrogen. So, the more fat cells that you have sitting around your body, the more estrogen you’ll have floating around as well. This is additional to the estrogen produced by the endocrine system. So, rather than reaching for a sweet sugar saturated treat, do your estrogen levels a favor and opt for foods that are high in proteins, fiber and healthy fats. Our fourth no go food for estrogen is beer. I know, this is a tough one. Now, I’m not saying you can’t drink it at all, but if you want to get really lean and maximize your muscle mass and strength, then you gotta’ cut back on the booze. Here’s why. As you know beer contains hops. But what are hops? Well, they're actually the female part of the hop plant. They’re a preservative that has been added to beer for hundreds of years. 🔥 FREE 6 Week Body Transformation Challenge: http://bit.ly/lose-fat5 ☝️☝️☝️ References: https://jissn.biomedcentral.com/track/pdf/10.1186/1550-2783-4-4 https://www.cell.com/cell-chemical-biology/fulltext/S2451-9456(17)30459-2 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15665622 https://academic.oup.com/ajcn/article/97/3/621/4571522 https://pubs.niaaa.nih.gov/publications/arh22-3/220.pdf https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-018-03293-x https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/0031942271850033 http://jmclachlan.tulane.edu/PDFs/boueetal2003.pdf https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1046/j.1365-2621.2002.00618.x https://www.cambridge.org/core/journals/public-health-nutrition/article/bisphenol-a-exposure-and-associations-with-obesity-among-adults-a-critical-review/CE18254518A4FF8530042744521E7E01

Get 6 pack abs year round by following this diet plan http://athleanx.com/x/diet-plan-for-a-six-pack You’ve probably heard that 6 pack abs are obtained through a proper diet, that abs are made in the kitchen. You’d be right. That said, getting abs still remains rather elusive to many and certainly being able to maintain them year round is even harder. Not any more. In this video, I show you a 5 step plan for how to get a 6 pack that you can use to start getting your abs to show fast. Despite the fact that many are aware of the importance of proper nutrition when it comes to getting abs, it is still a mighty struggle to get them. It usually comes down to the methods those people are using to try and get them in the first place. Crash diet plans and temporary deprivation based tactics are not going to cut it long term if you want to get and keep your abs. Anything that forces you to feel as if you’re missing out or be deprived of what you really want is only going to be a temporary solution at best. As soon as you get tired of not having what you want, you’ll quickly give in and lose your ability to keep your hard earned abs. That said, the 5 step formula for getting a 6 pack starts with cutting out the obvious crap foods from your diet. You should know pretty quickly what these are. It’s the cakes, sweets, alcohol, fatty salad dressings, etc that just scream problems the minute you eat them. You know what they are and that means you know they should be gone, so do it. There’s never been a better time than now to start making the changes that are going to dramatically help you in your pursuit of your abs. Next step is to start eating more often. Yep, despite what keyboard scientists who read a few articles on google scholar want you to believe, there are far more important reasons to be eating more frequently throughout the day than whether or not this is maximally anabolic. I cover these for you in the video. Next up, you’re going to want to take another pass through that diet of yours. On this second time through, you’re going to want to remove the less obvious items that aren’t helping you as best they can to get your 6 pack abs. For me, I lay out three perfect examples. I thought these foods were healthy but I was only partially right. How they were being prepared was making all the difference in me seeing my abs consistently…or not. Moving on, you now want to eat more of the good foods you swapped in. This helps you to maintain and continue to build new muscle. Too often, people who take out the offending foods will free up many calories in their diet. If you don’t replace them with good foods you’ll likely wind up not supporting your muscle growth and be skinny without enough muscle mass. Finally, where the etching in of those abs can happen, supplementation. Use high quality supplements to fine tune your efforts and really take your results to the next level. If you’re looking for the latest in sports nutrition to assist your ab getting goals, be sure to head to http://athleanrx.com or head to http://athleanx.com if you want a meal my meal diet plan for getting abs. Actually, there are foods you can eat without limitations even if you’re crazy about keeping your figure. Sounds too good to be true! These foods are rich in fiber while being low calorie, satiating you without the risk of gaining weight. Lucky you – today, we’ve compiled a list of such foods! And forget the myth that you’ll gain weight if you eat after 6pm. It’s completely wrong! In fact, if you want to stay slim, it’s best to have dinner 3-4 hours before bed. So if you go to bed at 11 p.m., you can calmly eat at 7 p.m. It won’t hurt your figure at all! TIMESTAMPS: Popcorn 0:36 Celery 0:59 Eggplant 1:16 Oranges, grapefruits, and tangerines 1:39 Melon and watermelon 2:07 Algae 2:21 Zucchini 2:37 Cucumber 2:51 Beetroot 3:08 Eggs 3:21 Pineapple 3:35 Apples and plums 3:50 Salad 4:03 Berries: currant, cranberry, strawberry 4:10 Cabbage, broccoli, and cauliflower 4:27 #weightloss #excessweight #perfectfit SUMMARY: - If you fry popcorn without butter and sugar (with a little salt, for instance), you can eat it without fear. A medium-sized stalk of celery contains only 6 calories! - A portion of eggplant grilled or baked without oil makes for 24 kcal, so you can enjoy this savory veggie without any limitations. - A large amount of fruit is not recommended if you want to lose weight, yet citrus fruits are an exception here. They’re rich in substances like fiber, flavonoids, and vitamin C. - Melon and watermelon are 95% water. With 60-70 kcal per slice, you can eat them day in and day out. These fruits help excrete excess liquid from your body and satiate you well. - Algae, like laminaria, are the best source of iodine. They help your thyroid function normally, keeping your hormones at normal levels and preventing you from gaining weight. - A portion of zucchini is about 42 kcal. It normalizes your salt-water ratio, improves your intestinal function, and can also be used to lower the energy output of main courses. - A cucumber is 95% water; therefore, this vegetable can quench your thirst easily. And the remaining 5% is a source of vitamins and minerals. - Beetroot is a source of nutrients, such as manganese. They help burn fat, drive your muscles, and regulate your blood sugar. An average portion is just 40 kcal! - You can eat eggs at any time of the day, even at night, without fear of gaining weight. Of course, boiled eggs are better than fried ones. One boiled egg contains about 80 kcal! - The bromelain contained within pineapples actively splits fats and helps metabolize proteins. A slice of pineapple is about 30 kcal. - One apple is only 50 kcal. It makes you feel satiated and regulates your digestion. Plums are rich in vitamin C and potassium, which maintain your heart and vessels. - Salad is a great source of folic acid, and you can eat it by the ton: one leaf of lettuce is 3 kcal! - Currants and cranberries are rich in vitamin C, and the former is also a diuretic, helping get rid of excess water. - A portion of diced cabbage is just 7 kcal. You shouldn’t, of course, only eat cabbage and cauliflower, as their nutrients rival with iodine, but you can easily include these foods a couple of times a week. Why can't you lose weight? You abstain from potato chips, ice cream, fast food, soda, cake, and even pizza. Your new menu consists of all the fitness guru essentials. Unfortunately, you still haven’t lost an inch around your waist! So what’s the deal here? Are you doing something wrong? Perhaps the problem is in these 11 all-too common dieting mistakes that even the biggest health nuts are guilty of! TIMESTAMPS: Choosing organic products 1:09 Going gluten-free 2:11 Buying low-fat products 3:19 Drinking fruit juices 4:18 Eating energy bars 5:10 Preferring dried fruits over whole ones 6:00 Choosing eggs with a brown shell 6:41 Drinking sports drinks 7:27 Buying imported products 8:27 Eating granola 9:10 Cutting food intake without counting calories 9:46 #healthyfood #dietmistakes Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY: - When growing organic products, farmers don’t use synthetic pesticides. Instead, they’re replaced with natural pesticides, the side effects of which haven’t really been studied thoroughly. - According to the latest research, abstaining from whole grains, which are full of gluten, increases a person’s risk of developing cardiovascular disease. - Our bodies actually do need fat, and excluding it from your diet is only recommend for real medical reasons. In all other cases, simply cutting down on your fat intake and being smart about what kinds of fats you consume will be enough. - If it contains the word “fruit” in it, how could drinking fruit juices possibly be bad for you? Well, this type of drink contains loads of sugar and calories. Plus, they don’t have any dietary fiber. - Most bars contain sugar, chocolate glaze, caramel, artificial flavors, and other additives. They’re no different from ordinary sweets when it comes to sugar content, while the amount of calories in them equals a full-fledged meal! - Sports drinks, like a lot of the items on this list, contain tons of sugar, corn syrup, artificial food additives, and colorants. - The hype around granola has been created mostly by marketing experts. Sure, it’s got fiber and iron, but granola also contains a lot of sugar and some not-so-healthy oils that definitely aren’t gonna help you achieve your dream bod. Check out the other information about NUTRITION: http://tinyurl.com/EndPur2 (The Simple Superfoods) FACEBOOK : https://www.facebook.com/endpur.healthyliving In an archipelago southwest of Japan, lies the island of Okinawa, which is home to the healthiest population of centenarians (people over 100 years old) on earth. They suffer fewer instances of cancer, diabetes and heart attacks. Their secrets include a more nutrient based diet and less stressful living. Okinawan centenarians stay lean by eating fewer calories than they burn off during the day. They maintain a healthy weight. For them, meals are a social event where the focus is on the social interaction and not the food itself. They eat until they are almost full before they get stuffed. It takes 20 minutes for the body to signal to the brain that is it full. Americans like to eat until they are stuffed. You can use a hunger rating system to monitor your level of satisfaction. During a meal, rate your hunger on a scale of 1 to 5- (1 is famished and 5 is stuffed.) In this video, you will get familiar with 15 products that perform all these activities! Some of them might surprise you with their health benefits! Watch till the end - as a bonus, you will find a recipe for a special drink for healthy blood vessels. And remember to press the like button in appreciation of our work! TIMESTAMPS Fatty fish 1:05 Oatmeal 1:51 Berries 2:30 Dark chocolate 3:19 Nuts 4:00 Extra virgin olive oil 4:45 Red wine 5:23 Green tea 5:53 Broccoli and spinach 6:35 Avocado 7:39 Pomegranate 8:13 Cinnamon 8:43 Watermelon 9:14 Garlic 9:43 Apples and pears 10:28 SUMMARY - Salmon, mackerel, herring, haddock, and other fatty fish decrease the risk of arrhythmia and atherosclerosis. They also contain lots of vitamins as well as minerals. - Rich in fiber, porridge decreases the levels of "bad" cholesterol and improves digestion. Coarse oatmeal is the healthiest. - Blueberries and strawberries are very good at lowering blood pressure and dilating blood vessels. Strawberry-lovers also get fiber, folate, antioxidants, and potassium from their favorite berries. - Dark chocolate provides the anti-stress effect as it increases the production of serotonin which is known for its calming effect. Cocoa, the main component of dark chocolate, also helps to prevent memory decline. - Nuts contain protein fibers that are useful for the heart. Training for strength doesn't mean diet goes out the window. You can absolutely maximize your results with what you eat and the supps you take. Here's how! Jim Stoppani's 6-Week Shortcut To Strength ► http://bbcom.me/2tcNvI2 Jim Stoppani's Recommended Muscle-Building Supplements ► http://bbcom.me/2tgZzZ1 Rule 1 - Eat Plenty of Protein Protein is the main driver of muscle growth and should be the number one priority in your nutrition plan. Strive for at least 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight, and consider going as high as 1.5 grams per pound, especially when following an intense training regimen like this one. Rule 2 - Eat (Protein) Frequently Recent research suggests that consuming protein every 4-6 hours is optimal to maximize muscle growth, not 3 hours like I've told you to before. Why? This timeframe supposedly provides your muscle machinery with the resources it needs to maximize growth while also ensuring it has an adequate "break" soon after before repeating the process. Rule 3 - Get Ample Fats If protein is your highest priority, fat is next on the list. It plays a major role in supporting muscle growth, health, and performance, so don't neglect it—period. My rule for fat intake is to consume half your body weight per day in grams of fat. That means a 180-pound individual will strive to consume 90 grams of fat per day. Rule 4 - Manipulate Carbs Everyone's body responds to carbohydrates differently, so after you set your protein and fat intake, experiment with your carbohydrate intake to determine what works best for you. Aiming for 1.5-2.0 grams of carbohydrates per pound of body weight (on a training day at minimum) is a solid starting place. Rule 5 - Macronutrients Over Calories I'm not a huge stickler on calorie amounts. Yes, calorie intake is important, but rather than focusing on a calories-first approach, I suggest building your diet from the macros up to ensure you're providing your body with the necessary fuel to support strength gains. If you follow my above rules, your caloric intake will come out to be 15-19 calories per pound of body weight. Rule 6 - Use a Protein Powder Blend For me, the only thing better than whey or casein is whey and casein. When you blend these two protein sources, the fast-digesting whey will ensure you rapidly promote an anabolic (muscle-building) environment, while the casein will help you sustain it for a long time—maybe as long as 6-8 hours. This will reduce the time you spend in a state of muscle breakdown and maximize the time spent in a state of growth. To fully round out your protein shake, I suggest the inclusion of medium-speed digesting protein, too. Rule 7 - Use Fast-Digesting Carbs After Workouts Carbohydrates are your muscles' primary fuel source during exercise. The greater the intensity and length of your training, the more the body depletes its carbohydrate stores. This happens! But when it does, you need to rectify it quickly. Rule 8 - Take the Pre- and Post-Workout Supplement Essentioals BCAAs, Beta-Alanine, Betaine, & Creatine Rule 9 - Find What Works for you ============================================= | Recommended Supplements | Pro JYM ► http://bbcom.me/2tgRDXy - Blended Protein Supplement for Maximum Effectiveness* - Made with the Highest Quality Whey, Casein, and Egg Proteins Pre Jym ► http://bbcom.me/2tgI8aN - Pre-Workout Powder Powerhouse* - Scientifically Advanced All-In-One Formula for Improved Workouts* Post Jym Active Matrix ► http://bbcom.me/2tgIcHz - Post-Workout Powder for Recovery and Growth* - Powerful Cocktail Designed to Help Boost Repair, Maximize Recovery, and Build Muscle* ============================================= | Bodybuilding.com | Sales & Specials ► http://bbcom.me/2q1djSY Fitness Articles ► http://bbcom.me/2q1p7Vq #1 Online Supplement Store ► http://bbcom.me/2q1os6y Free Fitness Plans ► http://bbcom.me/2q1dhKU #1 Women's Fitness Site ► http://bbcom.me/2q1ouvc ============================================= | Follow Us | Twitch ► http://bit.ly/2q1dttE YouTube ► http://bit.ly/1RSJFa4 Facebook ► http://on.fb.me/1lomhpr Instagram ► http://bit.ly/1LzBxab Twitter ► http://bit.ly/1RSJQlL Google+ ► http://bit.ly/1NRe8qu Pinterest ► http://bit.ly/1OOZgY4 Spotify ► http://spoti.fi/1NRebm0 We are Bodybuilding.com. This is a video that talks a little about an article I wrote for nutrition wizard and all around great guy, Robb Wolf, about the future of food. As you may/may not know, Robb Wolf is a big guy in the paleo / primal diet movement, so I thought it'd be interesting to explore the issue of what happens when human engineered food become 'more healthy' than what nature has to offer - should it happen... I'm not a food technologist, but I am a curious person and I'm also a health and fitness geek. So, if you are into 'natural foods', health and wellness, the paleo movement, futurism, this might be an article that piques your interest... Thanks for reading! How to eat and lose weight? How to stay slim without diets or gym? There are foods you can eat without risk of gaining weight. Let’s be honest; it’s hard to resist cravings for tasty food when you’re on a strict diet. You feel hungry all the time, and when you open the fridge, it’s almost impossible to fight the temptation to grab something unhealthy! However, there are foods you can eat without risk of gaining weight. Can you imagine eating popcorn at any time and in any quantity?! To figure out how that’s possible, watch our list of foods that will never make you fat. TIMESTAMPS Celery 0:44 Arugula 1:15 Egg whites 1:38 Salad 2:09 Cucumbers 2:41 Cauliflower 3:12 Tomatoes 4:00 Broccoli 4:27 Oranges 4:55 Kale 5:19 Sugar snap peas 5:43 Grapefruit 6:03 Melon 6:26 Strawberries 6:46 Blackberries 7:10 Popcorn 7:28 Blueberries 7:54 SUMMARY - Celery has anti-allergic and antiseptic properties. This plant can improve your digestion and overall health. - There are only 10 calories in 2 cups of arugula. It helps you get slimmer without damaging your health. - Scientists found that eggs keep you feeling full for longer periods than foods that contain more carbs. Mix the whites with a few tomatoes and get the healthiest omelet ever! - Salad is packed with vitamins A and C as well as folic acid and iron. It’s practically devoid of calories (10 to 20 calories, depending on the type). - Fresh, crunchy cucumbers have significant health benefits. The skin of a cucumber contains most of its nutritional value, particularly beta-carotene, which is good for your eyes. - Cauliflower is an excellent source of vitamins C and K. Also, it contains only 25 calories. - One tomato has about 25 calories. Tomatoes are full of lycopene, vitamins A, C, and B2, folic acid, fiber, chromium, and potassium. - Broccoli contains 31 calories, and it is one of the favorite foods of those who want to lose weight. - Oranges are one of the most delicious fruits. They are best known for their vitamin C content. By the way, the white stuff under the orange skin, the pith, is really good for you. - Kale, like any other edible seaweed, contains a large amount of iodine and it’s almost devoid of calories. It has about 32 calories. - Sugar snap peas are very low in calories: a cup of peas contains around 35 calories. - Grapefruits help to stabilize blood sugar levels. They’re full of vitamin C, and, due to their low caloric value, they can help you reduce those extra inches around your waist. - Melon contains over half the recommended daily value of vitamins A and C and only 55 calories. Melon is also very useful for preventing flu and improving the immune system. - Strawberries are rich in potassium and fiber and have an anti-inflammatory effect. It sounds surprising, but a couple of strawberries contain as much vitamin C as an orange. - Blackberries are full of antioxidants and vitamin C. Also, they have an amazing taste. - One cup of air-popped popcorn will never affect your body. This “movie snack” mostly consists of air, and you can enjoy eating it without fear of gaining extra weight. - Blueberries have more antioxidants than any other fruit. Therefore, a cup of blueberries will help you balance your diet. What helps you control your weight and stay in shape? Share your thoughts in the comments below! Famed Nutrition professor T. Colin Campbell says: Stop hyper-focusing on individual nutrients. We need to completely rethink the science of nutrition. Nutritional science, long stuck in a reductionist mindset, is transformed by this revolutionary approach. Stop reading articles and watching videos about this nutrient or that, or even this food or that. It's about eating WHOLE foods, not about a few specific nutrients or foods where the research you may have heard - is probably wrong or irrelevant. Special Discount on Grass-Finished Beef: http://www.butcherbox.com/thomasdelauer Click Here to Subscribe: http://Bit.ly/ThomasVid Website: http://ThomasDeLauer.com The 3 Best & Worst Protein Sources for a Keto Diet - Thomas DeLauer What are the best and the worst protein sources when you are on a ketogenic diet? It's not as simple as just getting your proteins and fats in. Honestly, if you really want to take care of your body you have to take it one step further and know where your protein sources are coming from, but also, what they're doing inside your body that you may not even be aware of. Hey, if you haven't already, make sure you hit that subscribe button. I post three to five videos per week, also live broadcasts, so you'll never miss a beat when it comes down to health, fasting, ketosis, workouts, you name it. If you're already a subscriber make sure you hit that little bell icon, so you can turn on notifications whenever I go live or post a new video. So, let's get straight to it. I'm going to lay out the three proteins that I think that you should focus on, and I'm going to lay out the three proteins that I think you should absolutely avoid at all costs, or at least try to reduce your consumption of. First off, salmon. It's kind of an obvious one, you would've expected Thomas DeLauer to be talking about salmon because it's higher fat, and it just makes sense on a ketogenic diet. But, I want to take it a little bit further than just traditional salmon. First off, let me explain why you want to make sure you're getting wild caught and not farmed. This is a story that you've probably heard before, but a lot of it has to do with what are called PCBs. PCBs stands for polychlorinated biphenyls, and what these PCBs do is they cause a lot of chaos with your autoimmune system in your body. What that means is that whenever you consume these PCBs it's tricking your immune system to actually start this cascade of different white blood cells and different immune responses that cause your body to fatigue. You may not feel it right at the front end, but you're going to feel it when it comes down to burning fat, having more energy, things like that, because your body is wasting resources on triggering up the immune system, than the resources it should be using to help you burn some fat, get in better shape, and feel great. What we're finding, particularly in a study that was published in the Journal of Science, is that salmon samples that were wild caught ended up not having too much in the way of PCBs. Still a little bit, because they were able to be consumed through whatever that fish was eating, and through the ocean, et cetera, et cetera. Salmon that was farm raised ended up having eight times as much in the way of PCBs. References 1) 11 Impressive Health Benefits of Salmon. (n.d.). To support our channel and level up your health, check out: Our Fast Weight Loss Course: http://thehealthnerds.com/the-science-of-fast-weight-loss-course Our Better Health Basics Course: http://thehealthnerds.com/food-health-happiness Today, we’re going to be answering the question of what does sugar do to your body and the 10 negative effects of sugar. #1. Sugar can give you wrinkles and adds age to your face Scientists from the Leiden University Medical Centre, in the Netherlands, measured the blood sugar levels of 600 men and women aged between 50 and 70. In fact, for every 1mm/liter increase in blood sugar, the perceived age of that person rose by five months. http://www.research.leiden.edu/news/looking-older-blood-sugar-plays-a-role.html #2. Sugar is Also Associated With Acne Foods ranked high on the Glycemic Index such as sugar and refined carbs have been associated with greater amounts of acne on the face and body according to the latest research. A study of Australian men showed that those who ate a diet with a low glycemic load saw a great reduction in overall acne. It was a small study with only 23 men but is still food for thought. https://www.aad.org/media/news-releases/growing-evidence-suggests-possible-link-between-diet-and-acne #3. Sugary drinks cause an 83% increase in developing type II diabetes In one study of 91,249 women showed those who consumed 1 sugar-sweetened beverage a day had an 83% increased risk of developing type II diabetes compared to those who had only 1 a month. #4. People who eat sugar are at a much higher risk of cancer There has been a direct link seen between breast, and colon cancer with sugar consumption. http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/0306987783900956 http://cebp.aacrjournals.org/content/6/9/677.short This is likely due to the fact that insulin is one of the key factors behind the growth and multiplication of cells, and sugar spikes insulin to abnormally high levels. #5. Sugar Can Ruin Your Teeth A study by the American Journal of clinical nutrition showed that sugar destroys the healthy bacteria in our mouth. This can cause tooth erosions and may dim that bright smile. http://ajcn.nutrition.org/content/78/4/881S.full What about sugar and weight gain? There are 5 proven reason sugar leads to added weight gain... #6. Sugar is the premier definition of empty calories. It has no real nutritional value, no nutrients, no minerals, no proteins, and no fiber. Because of this lack of nutrients… #7. Sugar makes you feel hungry In a study by Yale University, those that consumed sugar had an INCREASED appetite and desire for more food. http://yaledailynews.com/blog/2013/01/15/overeating-linked-to-sugar-consumption/ So not only does sugar fill you with empty calories, it makes you want more of those calories. This process happens because sugar screws up hormonal levels in the body. Which leads to #8. Sugar blocks leptin and raises insulin to supernatural levels Leptin is a hormone in charge of telling us we’re full and need to stop eating. It also tells us we have energy and should go out and use that energy. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18703413 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15111494 Sugar consumption blocks this hormone from doing its job and from reaching the brain. http://nutritionandmetabolism.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/1743-7075-2-5 9. Sugar causes belly fat Numerous studies have shown direct links from sugar to increased accumulation of belly fat. Despite knowing all this, it’s hard to stop eating sugar because http://www.jci.org/articles/view/37385 http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19248858 #10. Sugar is addictive Similar to drugs like cocaine, scientists have now shown that sugar causes a very similar release of dopamine in the brain. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2235907 http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2851032/ Studies on neuroplasticity have shown that drug users have similar behavioral addictions to those addicted to sugar. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3139704/ Point black. Sugar is ADDICTING and comes without the immediate social repercussions of frequent drug use. That’s why it’s so hard to stop eating it. How much should you eat per day? None. There is not a reason to be eating this food in your diet, but only on the rare occasion as a treat. What about fruit? Fruit has fiber, vitamins, minerals, water, and tons of nutrients that refined sugar does not have. http://www.bmj.com/content/347/bmj.f5001 Sticking to whole sources like apples, oranges, and berries are a better idea. What should you do if you can’t stop eating sugar? I think this subject needs to be covered in greater detail, so either next week or sometime soon we will be making a video about breaking sugar addiction if that’s something you guys want.

Many of these patients who had been diagnosed with heart or blood vessel disease, are losing weight, lowering their cholesterol and blood pressure, improving their energy levels and even reversing type 2 diabetes. The program brings a unique nutrition-centered approach to the management of cardiovascular disease, aiming to prevent and reverse heart disease with a whole-food plant-based diet. To support our channel and level up your health, check out: Our Fast Weight Loss Course: http://thehealthnerds.com/the-science-of-fast-weight-loss-course Our Better Health Basics Course: http://thehealthnerds.com/food-health-happiness Today we’re going over the 5 biggest weight loss myths and debunking them using scientific studies. Weight loss myth #1. Eat 6 small meals for a faster metabolism http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9155494 http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19566598 http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21123467 When comparing eating 3 meals a day with 500 calories vs. eating 6 meals a day with 250, neither causes a greater calorie burn. (full article in description). The takeaway point here is that since meal frequency does not really matter, focus on finding what works best for you. What matters much more is WHAT you’re eating, not when you’re eating it for weight loss. Weight loss myth #2. Exercise alone can help you lose weight Let me be clear, exercise is amazing for a variety of reasons Better blood flow Improved posture Gaining lean muscle tissue to help you burn more calories Heart health And a variety of other things. Exercise is something your body needs and something you should be doing. That being said, according to the research exercise is not a crucial component for weight loss. http://www.cell.com/current-biology/abstract/S0960-9822(15)01577-8 https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2015/08/150817142140.htm Multiple studies have shown when people are spilt into two groups, one using diet and exercise and one only using diet, that weight loss results are usually very similar. http://ije.oxfordjournals.org/content/42/6/1831.full http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3925973/ This just goes to further show that you absolutely cannot outrun a bad diet. The takeaway here is not to ignore exercise or stop exercising for weight loss, the point is to give your diet more credit and focus on what you’re eating. As far as weight loss is concerned, the science points to taking an 80% diet 20% exercise approach. Weight loss myth #3. You Can Crunch Your Way to A 6-Pack The body anatomically has your muscles located underneath where you store fat. It’s likely that you already have great abs from the natural movements in. Crunches will not get you abs. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3925973/ Weight loss myth #4. Fat makes you fat. It might seem logical that if you have body fat then cutting fat out of your diet will help you lose it. This is a common mistake. There are plenty of studies showing that diets high in fat but within recommended caloric ranges still cause steady weight loss. http://ajcn.nutrition.org/content/86/2/276.full http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1467-789X.2012.01021.x/abstract There’s also evidence showing that saturated fat is fine for you as well… In a recent meta analysis of 21 studies with 347,747 participants they found absolutely zero evidence or association between saturated fat and heart disease. http://ajcn.nutrition.org/content/early/2010/01/13/ajcn.2009.27725.abstract The reason for the saturated fat scare was a poorly correlated study performed in the 1970’s. In reality, fat and the occasional source of saturated fat in your daily diet is perfectly healthy. The takeaway is foods like high quality dark chocolate, extra virgin olive oil, and coconut oil are healthy and safe to eat. Weight loss myth #5. Don’t lose weight quickly, go slowly Probably one of the more interesting findings was a meta analysis done by the University of Alabama on the speed of weight loss. http://sciencenordic.com/researchers-rapid-weight-loss-best It may seem logical to tell people who want to lose weight to go slowly, change their habits over time, and gradually decrease their calories so they can ease into a new healthy lifestyle. The science tells us otherwise. This comprehensive examination of major weight loss studies found that militant diets beat out the slow and steady approach. http://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMsa1208051 The people experiencing the greatest weight loss in the first 2-4 weeks experienced the greatest weight loss the following year. http://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMsa1208051 This makes sense from a motivation standpoint as well as the faster the scale moves down the more encouraged you will be to stick with your diet. As controversial as that may sound, it seems a stricter diets produces better weight loss results. There is more to health than just losing weight, but that’s what the science is telling us. The takeaway here is that if you want to see serious weight loss results use an aggressive diet. This does not mean that you should go on a crazy juice fast or crazy tea-tox, just that losing more than 2 pounds per week is ok and a probably a good idea if you have a lot to lose.
