Norwegian Petroleum Directorate releases 2017 resource report

03:07
#oilwire - The significant remaining resources in discoveries and fields make it possible to create values for the Norwegian society for many decades to come, according to the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate’s new report. Since 1990, total resources, including the estimate for undiscovered resources, have increased by more than 40%. In fact, more resources than we expected overall in 1990 have been proven, and there is still a lot left to find. In order to extract all the values, the industry must cooperate on utilizing the infrastructure that exists and use the available technology. “We have been producing oil and gas in Norway for nearly 50 years and we are still not halfway done. Vast volumes of oil and gas have been discovered on the Norwegian shelf that are still waiting to be produced. We want companies with the ability and willingness to utilise new knowledge and advanced technology. This will yield profitable production for many decades in the future,” says Ingrid Sølvberg, director of development and operations in the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate.

DPR Explores Technology To Improve Service Delivery Part1

09:57
The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) in Nigeria, saddled with the responsibility of ensuring compliance to petroleum laws, regulations and guidelines in the Oil and Gas Industry, is exploring the use of computer in its service delivery, with a view to ending some of the challenges in the sector. Seles providers often times are made to face time consuming processes, resulting in delay in product delivery, which has a multiplier effect on the availability of the product. On Channels Television’s programme, Sunrice Daily, on Tuesday, a senior official of the DPR, Mr George Osahon, said that with the computerisation, what sales providers in the industry do manually would be achieved with the use of a computer in their comfort zone within a short period of time. "We are going computerised. People will go online, fill the form, pay and even collect their certificates online. Everything is done online. "That is what we want to introduce to members of the public and if they get any challenge with the online process, there is a number to call. If you go on our website, part of it will tell you that if you have any questions to ask us, fill the forms and we will respond. Any question you have about the industry, we will respond to you," he said. for more information, visit www.channelstv.com

Position Descriptions - Oil and Gas Accountants

10:31
Energy Training Resources is a leader in oil and gas industry education. Our primary business is conducting industry overview courses for oil and gas companies, contractors/suppliers and accounting firms to improve their employees' working knowledge, team-working capabilities and communication skills. We also have public courses available. We are often asked to explain job titles used in the oil and gas industry. Many common titles provide only vague clues of the functions performed, such as geophysicist, landman, reservoir engineer, strategic sourcer or joint interest accountant. Some of these roles are so unique to the industry that you won't understand an explanation unless you first understand a little about basic industry functions. To provide context, we have grouped job titles into five different functions and have provided a brief description of each function. The functions covered include geoscientists, engineers, land positions, procurement and accountants. This information should be useful to anyone working in the industry, plus auditors, investors, recruiters, job seekers, etc. This video is about various duties performed by oil and gas accountants. It may be more amusing than you think! To learn more about our courses, go to www.energytrainingresources.com

The Norwegian Continental Shelf

29:30
How does oil and gas occur in nature and how can we extract it? Senior Biostratigrapher Robert Williams from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate shares his insight on these complicated aspects in a simple manner. He also shows the enormous collection of drilling samples performed on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, all stored in the basement of the NPD. Through interviews, drawings, animations and film cuttings he and Torkel Thime from the Norwegian Oil and Gas Archives shed light on this complicated theme. NECST - Erasmus+ Project 2015. Phone Interview Tips - Top 5 Telephone Interview Questions

05:06
These 5 phone interview questions are critical for you to prepare for. Having examples and good answers prepared for these questions will go a long way to getting you to the next stage of the interview process. Free report: https://theinterviewguys.com/how-to-give-perfect-interview-answers-every-time-3/?utm_source=phonQD&utm_medium=youtube&utm_campaign=youtube Watch Jeff & Mike The Interview Guys go through their top 5 phone interview questions. These are the 5 that you should definitely prepare thoroughly for beforehand. If you want more tips on how to handle a phone interview in general, check out our "phone interview tips" video.... MIKE Hello, I'm Mike and this is my friend Jeff. But you probably know us as the Interview Guys. JEFF Today we are going to talk to you about one of the most important parts of the interview process, the Phone Interview, sometimes called a screening interview. This is often the first step in the interview process, where the company wants to go through a "feeling out" process with you so they can get a feel for the type of person you are. MIKE That's right Jeff. It's also a good time for the company to ask questions regarding certain requirements, like willingness to relocate, or travel, or any salary restrictions. This allows them to eliminate any candidates that won't fit their basic requirements so that they do not waste anyone's time by bringing them in for an in-person interview. After that, a lot of the questions can be similar to those asked by company's that only do in person interviews. Okay, so there are a lot of questions that could be asked in Phone Interviews, so Jeff and I thought we would give you our list of the Top 5 most commonly asked Phone Interview Questions. The main thing to remember when answering these questions is that it's not about you, it's about them. JEFF Mike's right. Each question you are asked is an opportunity for you to show that you are the Perfect Candidate for the position, and you can do this by infusing your answers with the qualities, or strengths, that the company desires. Watch to the end of the video and you can find out more about how to do this. But now, on to the list! MIKE Number one our list is "Tell me about yourself", which you can almost guarantee will be asked on your interview. You want to answer this question by identifying the key qualities that the company is looking for in their perfect candidate and infuse those into your answer. The second part is to use an accomplishment or success story from your past to give an example of when you exemplified that quality. JEFF Second on our list is "Why did you apply for this job"? In this question, the interviewer is trying to get a feel for your intentions and learn about how enthusiastic you are about the company and the position. Remember not to make your answer all about you. This is another opportunity for you to target the company's desired qualities, but more importantly, show the company what you are going to do for them. MIKE Number three on our list is "Why are you thinking of leaving your current position?" If it was because you left voluntarily, then reference a specific characteristic that the company you are interviewing for has that you are attracted to (one that your previous employer doesn't have). If you were let go, be honest and explain the situation and own it. Explain what you learned from the experience, because the interviewer just wants to see that you dealt with it and are a better person because of it. JEFF Fourth on our list is "What are your key strengths and weaknesses"? For the strength, be specific and tell a brief work related example of you exhibiting that strength. Again pick an example and a strength that is based on your knowledge of what they're looking for. For the weakness question, be honest and show that you have taken steps to correct the weakness. But remember, be sure not to choose a weakness that is one of the basic requirements of the job. MIKE And finally, the number 5 most common question is "Do you have any questions for me/us?" By preparing some targeted questions to ask, you're showing the interviewer that you are somebody who is genuinely interested in the company. This is also another opportunity for you to find out what their requirements and hopes are, and trying to align your experience and accomplishments with what it is that they put high value in.

Anadarko: Mozambique LNG Project Overview 2018

06:05
The Mozambique LNG Project is emerging as a leader in the global LNG industry, with approximately 75 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) of estimated recoverable natural gas discovered to date in Mozambique's Offshore Area 1. In cooperation with the Government of Mozambique, Offshore Area 1 participants are working to advance an initial two-train LNG development with significant expansions expected in future years. Cautionary Language Regarding Forward-Looking Statements and Other Matters This presentation contains forward-looking statements within the meaning of Section 27A of the Securities Act of 1933 and Section 21E of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. Mozambique LNG believes that its expectations are based on reasonable assumptions. No assurance, however, can be given that such expectations will prove to have been correct. A number of factors could cause actual results to differ materially from the projections, anticipated results or other expectations expressed in this presentation, including Mozambique LNG’s ability to successfully plan, secure additional governmental approvals, enter into long-term sales contracts, finance, build and operate the necessary infrastructure and LNG park in Mozambique, and produce and market the additional recoverable resources identified in this presentation. See risk factors included in reports filed under the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission by certain sponsors of Mozambique LNG. Neither Mozambique LNG nor its sponsors undertake and obligation to publicly update or revise any forward-looking statements. Cautionary Note to Investors – The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) permits oil and gas companies, in their filings with the SEC, to disclose only proved, probable and possible reserves that meet the SEC’s definitions for such terms. We may use terms in this presentation such as “resources,” “recoverable natural gas,” and similar terms and quantities of “estimated proved reserves” using underlying management assumptions that the SEC’s guidelines strictly prohibit us from including in filings with the SEC. These quantities may not constitute “reserves” within the meaning of the SEC’s rules. Actual quantities that may be ultimately recovered from our interests may differ substantially. Factors affecting ultimate recovery include the scope of our ongoing drilling program, which will be directly affected by commodity prices, the availability of capital, drilling and production costs, availability of drilling services and equipment, drilling risks, lease expirations, transportation constraints, regulatory approvals and other factors; and our actual drilling results including geological and mechanical factors affecting recovery rates. Such estimates may change significantly as development of our oil and gas assets provide additional data. U.S. Investors are urged to consider closely the oil and gas disclosures in our Form 10-Ks and other reports and filings with the SEC by certain sponsors. Copies are available from the SEC and the sponsors’ websites.

Cybersecurity for Oil and Gas Industries: How Hackers Can Manipulate Oil Stocks

01:00:53
by Alexander Polyakov & Mathieu Geli The industries most plagued by cyber-attacks are oil and gas. Several attacks against the infrastructure of oil firms like Aramco have been executed by the Anonymous operation #OpPetrol that targeted major oil companies. The oil and gas sectors are also threatened by frauds where there is blatant theft of resources during upstream or downstream processes. SAP and Oracle systems are widely used in oil and gas industries, and there are even specific SAP modules for oil and gas such as SAP Upstream Operations Management (UOM) or SAP PRA (Production and Revenue Accounting), Oracle Field Service, and Oracle Enterprise Asset Management. Cyber-attacks on SAP systems belonging to oil and gas industries can be critical themselves, however they are even more lethal because of trust connections in systems responsible for asset management (such as SAP xMII and SAP Plant Connectivity) and systems responsible for OT (such as ICS, SCADA and Field Devices). Moreover, SAP and Oracle serves business processes like Digital Oilfield Operations, Hydrocarbon Supply Chain and Operational Integrity that are extremely critical themselves and are vulnerable to attacks. For example, hydrocarbon volumes, which are the basis for pricing, excise duty, and transportation fees, fluctuate depending on environmental temperature and pressure conditions. An attacker can easily modify these conditions. As it requires masses and weights for product valuation, and weighing is not possible, we must derive them from volumes at ambient temperature and pressure conditions, requiring complex conversion calculations of the observed volumes at each custody transfer point. These complex features put all infrastructure at high risk if an attacker can get access to these data. Our talk, based on a several case studies conducted during research and professional services, will shed a light on this highly critical and very dark area. We will discuss specific attacks and vulnerabilities related to oil and gas companies as well as guidelines and processes on how to avoid them.

Environment Friendly Fracking Company Re-Plants Trees & Returns Land To Nature - RECLAMATION

02:27
Land Reclamation - When a well finishes producing oil or gas, on average after 20 years, the last stage of the lifecycle of a well begins. This step, known as reclamation, is the process of returning the land as close as possible to its original form and use. This requires removing equipment and replanting the site with native vegetation, and can take up to five years or more to complete. Regulators like the Energy Resources Conservation Board (ERCB) in Alberta require exploration and production (E&P) companies to make every effort to have the least amount of impact on the environment, so it’s easier to return the land to its original use. This has dramatically affected how wells are drilled in Canada. For example, the area cleared for well pad installations has been reduced by about 40 per cent today compared to the 1970s, and drilling multiple wells from a single pad has become commonplace. (Source: Our Petroleum Challenge) Steps in Reclamation: Planning: Reclamation plans are required when applying for a license to drill. Landscape designs: These plans take into consideration reintroducing appropriate vegetation and the creation of visually pleasing and functional landscapes. Material handling: Once the general shape of the land has been formed, top soil can be placed. This soil is often made up of organic materials from the forest floor which contains seeds and roots of plants. Re-vegetation or reforestation: Land is re-planted by smoothing top soil, placing fertilizer, seeding and harrowing. In reforestation, trees and a variety of shrubs are included in the planting mix. Monitoring: After reclamation, E&P companies monitor the health of trees and soil. Seedling plants are assessed one year after planting and then at five-year intervals. Soil is also assessed by collecting samples and analyzing them for chemical and physical properties. Certification: Government regulators certify land as reclaimed when reclamation is determined to be complete. This certification releases E&P companies from their land lease. However, E&P companies are held to a 25-year liability for surface reclamation issues and a lifetime liability for contamination. (Source: Syncrude Canada Ltd.) In Alberta, Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development conducts audits through field inspections at approximately 15 per cent of the sites to ensure guidelines have been met. Certificates can be cancelled if sites do not meet the remediation requirements or reclamation criteria. (Source: ERCB) In Canada, the lifecycle of a well is a complex and highly regulated process. This process ensures Canada’s vast energy resources are accessed efficiently and with as few environmental impacts as possible.

DSD-INT 2017 - River Basin Planning And Modelling Symposium - Webinar Session 20171025

01:13:53
This 1,5-hour webinar session includes the two keynotes of the River Basin Planning and Modelling symposium (Wednesday, 25 October 2017) during the Delft Software Days – Edition 2017 (DSD-INT 2017). KEYNOTE 1: Establishing Integrated Water Resources Management for River Basins Planning guidelines, by Judith ter Maat, Deltares The IWRM planning guidelines as recently developed for the World Bank should be seen as a supporting tool that allows involved national and regional agencies and consultants to identify key elements that should be addressed in a good IWRM or Integrated River Basin Management Plan (IRBMP). Moreover, it supports the identification of the sequential and parallel steps that need to be followed. This presentation will explain how this can be done within the specific process of making a plan or in the process of cyclic planning in five main steps in which the analysis should be carried out. KEYNOTE 2: Introduction to computational Frameworks - Example Ganga Basin, by Marnix van der Vat, Deltares. The Ganga Basin is experiencing rapid socio-economic developments that have a large impact on the demand for water resources. Climate change adds to the uncertainty and possibly the variability regarding future water availability. To support strategic planning for the Ganga Basin by the Indian Ministry of Water Resources and the concerned states, a river basin modelling suite has been developed that integrates hydrology, geohydrology, water resources management, water quality and ecology with the RIBASIM water resources model at its core. This modelling suite has been developed with the involvement of key basin stakeholders at both central and state levels. It is currently being applied for the assessment of the impact of different future socio-economic and climate change scenarios and management strategies on the most important indicators in relation to water resources management. This presentation presents the set-up and calibration of the modelling suite.

How Nigeria can end fuel importation in 2019 — Petroleum Minister

02:22
All things being equal, Nigeria will cease to import petroleum products and totally depend on its own refined products from 2019, the Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, disclosed this Wednesday. Kachikwu who made this disclosure while briefing State House correspondents at the end of the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa, said already, a steering committee headed by him and another technical committee had been constituted to fine-tune the process. Kachikwu, who also said the council approved a new policy document on the operations of petroleum sector, further disclosed that a gas policy had earlier been approved by FEC three weeks ago to serve as the bedrock for Nigeria’s change of status as an oil producing nation to a gas producing country. However, he said the new 100-page petroleum policy approved yesterday consisted of plans for the reorganisation of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) with a view to achieving efficiency and accountability; address salient issues in the Niger Delta; guarantee stability and consistency in the oil sector, and aid cash calls. “Today, we took to council a Nigerian petroleum policy document. As you are aware, three or four weeks ago, we also considered the Nigerian Gas Policy. The essence of that gas policy was to focus increasingly on how to change the imperatives of seeing Nigeria as an oil producing country to a gas producing country because we are a lot more privileged to have gas than we have oil. “Today’s document focused on oil. What are the imperatives for changing the policies in the oil sector? It dealt with certain fundamentals and some of the policies that we had already begun to pursue now crystalised in FECpolicy memo. For example, we are working assiduously to exit the importation of fuel in 2019. It captured the cash calls change which we have done which enables the sector to fund itself through incremental volumes. “It captured the reorganisation in the NNPC for efficiency and enabled accountability. It captured the issues in the Niger Delta and what we needed to do as a government to focus on stability and consistency in the sector. It is a very comprehensive 100-page document that deals with all the spectrum in the industry. The last time this was done was in 2007 and it has been 10 years and you are aware that the dynamics of the oil industry has changed dramatically. “Apart from the fluidity in pricing and uncertainty in terms of the price regime in crude oil, we are pushing for a refining processing environment and moving away from exporting as it were to refining petroleum products. That’s one change you will see. Secondly, how we sell our crude is going to be looked at. There is a lot of geographical market that we need to look at, long term contracting and sales as opposed to systemic contracting that we have been doing. Giving a detailed breakdown of the planned stoppage of fuel importation soon, Kachikwu said 2019 timeline had already been set for the agenda and government was working assiduously towards meeting the target. According to him, both the steering committee which he heads and the technical committee headed by the Chief Operating Officer of the NNPC, had had a series of meetings with individuals whom he said were prepared to invest in the project. The minister said the plan was neither about the sale of refineries nor their concession but rather a financing scheme in which he said some groups would build the refineries while others would finance them, pointing out that at least 30 persons had already indicated interests in the financing scheme. Kachikwu also disclosed that as a result of efficiency in the management of the oil sector, the daily consumption of fuel which he said used to be 50 million litres per day when he came on board in 2015 had now drastically dropped to 28 million litres per day. “In terms of the specifics, what a policy document does is that it gives you a general guideline in terms of where you are headed, then you go into the specifics in other separate documents for the purpose of execution. If you take the 2019 timeframe for refinery for instance, it won’t tell you what I’m doing today but will tell you that I have set a timeline to exit importation and to get the refineries working by 2019. “I need to state this clearly. This is not a sale. This is not a concession. This is a financing scheme and there are over 30 people who have indicated interest in that financing. They are going to go through the usual due process mechanism to see who qualifies for that financing. What we have resolved however, which we have at least had a landing on is that each of the refineries would be repaired by the individual company that built the refinery.

Moving agriculture into the 21st century: Dr. John Reganold at TEDxWSU 2014

15:21
Agriculture in the United States and many other countries is at a critical juncture. To feed a growing world population, producing adequate crop yields is vital but only one of four main goals that must be met for agriculture to be sustainable. The other three are enhancing the environment, making farming financially viable, and contributing to the well-being of farmers and their communities. Conventional farming systems have provided increasing sup-plies of food and other products, but often at the expense of the other three sustainability goals. Alternative systems, such as organic and integrated farming, better blend production, environment, and socio-economic objectives. Yet, no one of these systems alone will produce enough food to feed the planet. Rather, a blend of these innovative farming approaches is needed for future global food and ecosystem security. The slow expansion of such innovative farming systems in the United States and elsewhere is as much a policy and market problem as a science and technology problem. And you, as a consumer, play a vital role in the foods you choose to eat, which in turn can hasten implementation of more sustainable agricultural systems. Bio- Dr. John Reganold is a Regents Professor of Soil Science at Washington State University. He founded the first organic agriculture major at a university in the United States and one of the nation's largest certified organic teaching farms. His research has appeared in the world's top journals and documented the improved soil health, environmental quality, and economic impacts of organic and other innovative farms on four continents. Each year, thousands of college students learn from his two textbooks, Organic Agriculture: A Global Perspective and Natural Resource Conservation: Management for a Sustainable Future, now in its fourth edition.
