I show you how to get into developer options mode within your Samsung Galaxy S4. -Go to Settings -press More -About device -Build Number - tap 7 times until is says you are now a developer. -Tap on back button and you should see "developer options" icon next to "about device" icon. "Read about each of the settings within the developer options here: http://www.androidcentral.com/all-about-your-phones-developer-options" "Take bug report: Tapping this option grabs the current log files on your device, packages them up and prepares them for sending to, well, whomever you want to have it. It takes a minute or two after you tap it, and you'll see a notification once it's ready. Tap that notification to send it on it's way. Swipe it away to cancel. Desktop backup password: You can use ADB to backup and restore things like apps and their associated data to and from your computer. This option forces a password on those backups, and they can't be restored without that password. Stay awake: Checking this box will force the screen on your phone to stay on anytime and every time it is plugged in. This works with a wall charger or your computer's USB port, and is a great way to make sure you burn images into your screen. Don't use this one unless you need to! Select runtime: Here is where (for now)you choose to use Dalvik or ART. ART is still experimental and what we have now isn't what will eventually be released in Android L. Some phones really don't like the current ART runtime preview, so refer to the forum for your particular device before going there. Enable Bluetooth HCI snoop log: Sometimes, a developer (or security specialist) will need to capture and analyze Bluetooth HCI (Host Controller Interface) packets. Enabling this will place them in a file on the device storage (/sdcard/btsnoop_hci.log) for retrieval. You can then analyze them with a program like Wireshark. Process stats: Everything you ever needed to know about the running processes on your phone. Go ahead and tap it, then tap one of the entries. For the layman, it's just a lot of numbers, but for a developer debugging his or her app, this information might save the day. USB debugging: This is what allows your phone to communicate over the USB port on your computer via the Android Debug Bridge (ADB). You need to enable this to use things like DDMS, or to use ADB commands." Continue with the rest of the other settings here: http://www.androidcentral.com/all-about-your-phones-developer-options I hope this video was useful to you. I appreciate any subs. Cheers! For more Samsung Galaxy S4 Tips and Tricks, check out the full playlist: http://tinyurl.com/kj97qm9 Developer Options is a hidden screen that opens up some funky options to play with (at your own risk I might). Here's how to access it. Go to the settings page and then choose the More tab in the top right corner. On this page you want to select the option at the bottom labelled about device. At the bottom of this list is the build number of your device. Tap on this screen several times and you will start to see a message saying You are X steps away from being a developer. Continue to tap the screen in the same location until the following message appears: Developer mode is enabled. Then back out of that screen and you will see a new option appears above about device which is the developer mode. There are lots of things you can do on this screen such as visual feedback on touches, changing the transition speeds, display the CPU data on screen and much more. But just to warn you again, playing about with developer options has its risks and can adversely affect the performance of your phone so do some more research if you don't know what this options can do. http://www.facebook.com/vgjfelix http://twitter.com/vgjfelix http://www.reddit.com/r/vgjfelix/ https://plus.google.com/u/0/102060949291380946905/posts Nexus 7 Full Review: http://youtu.be/q9l6FLqLzwc Asus Transformer Prime Full Review: http://youtu.be/d2L8RavSvnE Surface RT Full Review: http://youtu.be/p_FHdXqB0Zg VGJFelix Video App: http://tinyurl.com/bn5rfd3 Useful playlists: All iPad videos: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL2sRi83nHhnbx0FP8zXUq_1Q7SfwqMc3m&feature=mh_lolz All Surface RT videos: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL2sRi83nHhnZF8ib3swNbjb784cJWzvIp&feature=mh_lolz All my Nexus 7 videos: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLFE38F47ACCB52AA7&feature=plpp All my Asus Transformer Prime videos: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL41C4E57C1716D163&feature=plpp :)

How to enable the developer mode on Andoid Kitkat 4.4.2. OS. I decided to create this screen recording on my Samsung Galaxy S4 because I had a few requests on mobile developer forums about the basics of developing. This might also be useful if you’re looking to root your android phone for whatever reason. How to (non-video version) 1 - Navigate to SETTINGS 2 - Select MORE 3 - Select ABOUT DEVICE 4 - press BUILD NUMBER multiple times (at least 4 I think) until you are presented with a message to confirm enabling developer mode - select OK. 5 - Navigate back one menu to SETTINGS 6 - Select DEVELOPER OPTIONS 7 - Enable DEVELOPER OPTIONS at the top of the menu. 8 - Enable USB DEBUGGING also. Device is now ready to either be developed on OR to be rooted. Feel free to comment if you have any questions at all!
