How to Fix All Desktop Icons Changed to Same Icon
This problem begins when user download an application or file, from an untrusted source. Finish download, user open the file and appear "open with". Then user selects one of the apps from the list, example; VLC Media Player and then press OK. Suddenly, all applications inside the computer turned into VLC Media Player shortcuts. Or when it comes "open with", user selects Windows Media Center, then all applications will change to Windows Media Center shortcut. Desktop icon views may vary depending on what application you choose, when the message "open with" appears. I suggest that you be careful when downloading files from untrusted sources, installing add ons or security extensions on your browser, updating anti-virus and anti-malware to protect you, and dont be fooled by the malicious websites. Solution for this problem 1. Create new user account (admin) 2. Log out from old account 3. Sign in to New user account 4. Move all data from old user to new user. 5. Download and istall antivirus update 6. Scan all drive Just create new user account (admin), logout from old user, and sign in to new user, windows and all apps back to normal. Note: 1. For the same case, this solution can use to Win7, 8, 8.1, 10 2. Don't delete old user accout if you not sure. Thanks.

How To Restore Default Icons On Windows 10
This video will show you how to restore corrupted icons to their default icons. The icons that Windows uses for your documents and programs are saved in an icon cache, so they can be displayed quickly instead of having to slowly load them every time. If you ever have problems with the icons on your computer, rebuilding the icon cache might help. Sometimes the icon cache gets out of date, causing icons to display incorrectly, or even go missing. For example, maybe you upgraded an application and the new version came with a new icon, but you still see the old icon on the desktop. Sometimes a blank or damaged icon may appear when a perfectly good icon was displayed before. When this happens, you have to reset the icon cache and let them automatically re-create it. In this article, we’ll show you how to rebuild the icon cache in Windows 10. This guide also applies to Windows 8 and 7, but the process works slightly different. How the Icon Cache Works in Windows Icons are everywhere in Windows: the Control Panel, Programs and Features, File Explorer, and so on. Having to retrieve all possible icon images from hard disk and to render them dynamically can consume lots of system resources. As a result, Windows save icons it’s already retrieved in its memory. When you shut down or restart, it will write this cache to a hidden file on your hard drive, so it doesn’t have to reload all those icons later. The database file grows as more information is added to it. According to this document from MSDN knowledgebase , when Windows needs to display an icon, it’ll check the cache, and display the cached icon if a match is found. If it doesn’t find one, it’ll check the executable file and scan the application directory. Caching mechanisms, such as the IconCache database, have been already discussed by multiple system specialists, and in depth by Mark E. Russinovich and David A. Solomon in their Windows Internals book, if you’re curious to learn more, but the basics are all you need to understand for this process. Steps: 1. CTRL+SHIFT+ESC 2. Go to the processes tab 3. Click on explorer.exe and end task 4. Click on File-New Task (Run...) 5. Enter the following: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local 6. Hit ALT and click on "Tools-Folder Options" 7. Go to the View tab 8. Click on show hidden files and folders 9. Apply, Ok 10. Delete IconCache.db by using Shift+Del 11. Go ahead and hide hidden files and folders if you like 12. Go back to the task manager and click on File-New Task (Run...) 13. Type in the following: C:\Windows\explorer.exe 14. There you go, back to default! This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops, and tablets running the Windows 10, Windows 8/8.1, Windows 7 operating systems.Works for all major computer manufactures (Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba, Lenovo, Samsung)

How To Fix All Icons Are The Same On Windows 7/8/10 [Tutorial]
How to fix all desktop icons are the same are your Windows device. Are you facing and issue, where you find that your desktop icons are not working or showing in Windows 10/8/7? Usually, this happens if the file associations are messed up. Before telling you how to fix it, I will in brief, talk about File Associations. If you have been working on computers for long, you can identify the applications needed to open certain files just by looking at their extensions. Desktop icons not working By default, file extensions are not shown in Windows Explorer. You have to go to Folder Options and uncheck Hide Extensions for Known File Types. The last two words of the option explain it all. File extensions are used to recognize file types. That is, if a file has.txt as its extension, you know it would open using Notepad, Word or even Microsoft WordPad/Write. However, I recommend turning the visibility of extensions off, as many users might not be able to deal with them. There is always a possibility that you rename a file and overwrite the file extension – thereby, leaving it with no extension. In this case, Windows will present you with a dialog box when you double-click the file. The dialog box will ask you to select a program to open the file. The overwriting of file extensions is actually disassociating the file from regular applications and somewhat similar to the problem of desktop links not working in Windows 8 | 7. Desktop Icons and File Associations The desktop icons are shortcuts to respective applications. If you right-click any desktop icon and click on Properties, you will get a Properties dialog box with the Shortcut tab selected. If it is not, select the Shortcut tab to see the program it is associated with. Most of the shortcuts, whether on the desktop or elsewhere, have the extension “.lnk”r. Do not confuse it with the capital case of alphabet “i”. It is – in fact – the lowercase of the alphabet “L”. That is supposed to mean ‘link’ without the ‘i’. This is where many get confused when setting up file associations as the characters look similar. Fix .lnk File Association Normally, most of us know which file types need what apps. If not, the option of searching the Internet is always there. Just open the Default Programs under All Programs in Start Menu and set up the file association. You can also use the Default Programs to make a file type open in a different application rather than having it open in what Microsoft decided is best for you. This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops, and tablets running the Windows 10, Windows 8/8.1, Windows 7 operating systems.Works for all major computer manufactures (Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba, Lenovo, Samsung).

Change Home Screen Icons for Supported Apps on Your iPhone [How-To]
Using User-Selectable App Icons in iOS 10.3 & Higher Full Tutorial: http://bit.ly/ChangeIcons Subscribe to Gadget Hacks: http://goo.gl/XagVI When it comes to customizing your home screen, Apple provides few options to do so. You can change text size and boldness, choose between two different app icon sizes, remove badges, change your wallpaper, and other minor tweaks that iOS lets you perform. What you cannot do is change an app’s icon to whatever you want, at least, not without some hard work on your Mac using the Apple Configurator 2 app. Using Apple Configurator: http://bit.ly/YourOwnIcons There is, however, another option that’s starting to pick up steam, which let’s you change app icons on your home screen with just a few taps. Ever since iOS 10.3, Apple has given developers a way to let their users change their app’s home screen icon. The feature is called “user-selectable app icons,” and it’s not a required item in order to get an app into the App Store. It’s completely optional for developers, and many have been slow to jump on the bandwagon since there’s a lot of extra work involved in getting them ready for users since they need to work across all iOS devices with different screen sizes and resolutions. At first, many developers charged a small fee in order to select different icons, but there are more and more free options popping up everyday in the App Store. List of Supported Apps: http://bit.ly/ChangeIcons Finding apps that support user-selectable app icons isn’t very easy, but we’ve compiled a list on Gadget Hacks that lists all of the ones we know about, and we continually update the list as we find more. So make sure to visit Gadget Hacks to view the complete list. Once you have an app that supports user-selectable app icons, there are variable ways to choose the icons you want. How To Add And Remove Program Icons From Taskbar In Windows 10
How to both add and remove program icons from the taskbar on Windows. The Windows 10 taskbar works much like previous Windows versions, offering shortcuts and icons for every running app. Windows 10 offers all kinds of ways to customize the taskbar to your liking, and we’re here to guide you through what you can do. We’ve taken a look at customizing the Start menu and the Action Center in Windows 10. Now, it’s time to tackle the taskbar. With just a little bit of work, you can tweak the taskbar to get it running just how you like it. Pin Apps to the Taskbar This will immediately add a new shortcut for the app to the taskbar. To remove an app from the taskbar, just right-click the pinned app and choose the “Unpin from taskbar” option. Pin a File or Folder to Taskbar Jump Lists Windows also provides an easy way to get access to folders—and individual files—on your taskbar. Jump lists are handy context menus associated with each pinned app that show certain actions you can perform with the app and, for apps where it’s applicable, also show a list of recent files and folders you’ve accessed.u can view an app’s jump list by right-clicking an icon. For example, the jump list for the File Explorer icon lets you open a new File Explorer window and shows recent folders you’ve viewed and folders you’ve pinned. Just point your mouse at a recent item to reveal a pushpin icon to its right. Click the pushpin to pin the item to the jump list. The second way to pin an app to the taskbar does not require the app to be running first. Find the app on the Start menu, right-click the app, point to “More,” and then choose the “Pin to taskbar” option you find there. You could also drag the app icon to the taskbar if you prefer doing it that way. By the way, if you want to view the conventional context menu for an icon on the taskbar, hold the Shift key while right-clicking the icon. This is particularly useful for configuring any folder shortcuts you’ve pinned there. And this is just one of the many useful keyboard shortcuts you can use with the taskbar. When you’ve pinned items to a jump list, those items appear separately from recent items. All you have to do is click one of them to open that folder. And of course, exactly what you see on a jump list depends on the app. Apps like Notepad or Microsoft Word show recently opened files. A jump list for your browser might show favorite sites and provide actions for opening new tabs or windows. The simplest way to customize your taskbar is by pinning various apps and shortcuts to it so that you can access them more quickly in the future. There are two ways to do this. The first is to open the program, either from the Start menu or an existing shortcut. When the app’s icon appears on the taskbar to indicate it’s running, right-click the icon and select the “Pin to taskbar” option from the context menu. By default, Windows 10 shows about 12 recent items in jump lists. In previous versions of Windows, you could increase or decrease that number easily through taskbar properties. Windows 10, for some reason, does not have this feature easily accessible. You can, however, change the number of items shown on jump lists with a quick Registry hack. Configure or Remove Cortana The Cortana search box takes up a lot of room on the taskbar and you don’t actually need it to do your searching. Even without it, if you press the Windows key and start typing, you’ll get the same search experience. If you want to perform a voice search—normally accessed by clicking the microphone icon in the search box—you just have to press Windows+C on your keyboard instead. You can remove the search box and leave just the icon, or you can remove both entirely. Right-click the taskbar and choose “Cortana", then Show Cortana icon” from the pop-up menu. This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops, and tablets running the Windows 10 operating system (Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education) from all supported hardware manufactures, like Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba,Lenovo, and Samsung

Like this, ` ` ` Hello!` ` `. - For bold messages, you have to put asterisks before and after your message (*Hello!*). You can send italics messages by adding underscores (_Hello!_). And your message can also be transformed to strikethrough by using tildes (~Hello!~). Plus, you can combine these styles by putting two or even all three symbols together (_~*Hello!*~_). - This works only on iOS devices. You can do that by heading to Settings and then picking Account and Storage Usage. You'll see the list of all your WhatsApp contacts and groups as well as the total number of messages you've sent and received for each one of them! - If there is some group chat or a person that's constantly bothering you with endless messages, you can simply mute it. Just pick the chat, click on its name or the name of the contact on top of the screen and select mute. You'll have an option to mute it for 8 hours, a week or even a year! - Go to Settings, then click Account and select Privacy. Here you can control what users will see your profile picture, status and last time you were seen on WhatsApp. - If you're sick and tired of constantly deleting unnecessary photos that your contacts message you, you can turn the auto-saving off. Again, go to Settings, then select Chats and turn off Save Incoming Media. - If you type a certain date in your message, it will appear as a hyperlink. If you tap on it, you'll be given an option to create an event in your calendar. So you can simply plan some adventures with your friends, work meetings or any other important events right from your WhatsApp. - If you're texting somebody pretty much all day or have a favorite chat that you need quick access to, you can easily add a link to it to your home screen. This works for Android devices. All you need to do is tap and hold on a chat and then click on three vertical dots on the top right of your screen and choose Add Conversation Shortcut. - Just say “Hey, Siri, send a WhatsApp to” and name the contact needed. - If you like to read old messages and get nostalgic from time to time, you can always back your history up on iCloud (for iPhone users) or Google Drive (for Android). If you have an iPhone and you want to back up a certain chat, just click on its name, then on the name of the contact and you'll see an option E-mail conversation. - If you want to express your feelings for someone in a whole other dimension, just send a red heart alone without any other emojis or words. You may think it's nothing much, but amazingly enough, it turns into a big beating heart. - For iOS users, there is a simple solution. Just double tap on a message and select the star icon. - When you receive a message don't open it right away and dismiss all the notifications. Then, set your phone on airline mode that will turn your Wi-Fi or Internet connection off. After that just open your app and read the text. - . WhatsApp thought about that and allowed its users to disable those little previews. To do so, you have to go to Settings, click Notifications and there you'll see the option Disable Show Preview. - Hold on any of your messages you're interested in and choose Info. There you'll see the time your message was sent and also the time it was read. Which one of these features did you like the most? Did you know about some of them? Solved Desktop Icons And Start Menu Won't Load Windows 10
Solved Desktop Icons And Start Menu Won't Load Windows 10 Here is the code to paste in powershell administrator: Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"} Are you facing and issue, where you find that your desktop icons are not working or showing in Windows 10/8/7? The overwriting of file extensions is actually disassociating the file from regular applications and somewhat similar to the problem of desktop links not working in Windows. This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops, and tablets running the Windows 10 operating system (Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education) from all supported hardware manufactures, like Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba,Lenovo, and Samsung).

MapRight: Changing the shape of your map icons
To change the background shape of an icon first click on the icon you want to edit in the map. Select the icon in the pop up that resembles a pen (second from the left). You'll notice there are three categories within this icon. Choose the third option called Shape. There you can choose either a square or circle background shape for your icon. Click save after selecting your background. You will have two options when saving edits to an icon. The top option Changes apply to all tools of this type will change any/all of the same icons that you have previously put on the map to the new style. Example: You have placed 3 barns on your map and now place a 4th barn and change it's background to a square. By choosing the Changes apply to all tools of this type, all 4 of your barns will now have a square background. The bottom save option, Save as new tool in my library, allows you to create a new icon while preserving the original characteristics of any/all of the same icons that you have previously put on the map. Example: You have placed 3 barns on your map and now place a 4th barn and change it's background to a square. By choosing the Save as new tool in my library, only the barn you have chosen to edit will change it's background to a square. All the other barns you have placed on the map will not change.
