Each dealer asked me if I wanted to trade in my old car while I was purchasing a new car at the dealership. Dealerships will typically offer to trade in your old used car, truck, van, jeep, or SUV while you are looking to buy another vehicle. I had not really thought about trading in my old Honda Accord. It had been having some issues lately that needed to be repaired by an auto shop. I had recently taken the car to a local Las Vegas mechanic, but my focus was more on buying another car instead of getting rid of my old vehicle. I spoke with one sales rep a little more in depth about possibly trading in my old car. He said that based on the info I gave him that my car would probably go right to a Las Vegas used car auction and that they might sell my car for 500 to 1,000 dollars. He actually suggest that I sell my used car in Las Vegas on my own since I could probably get more money for it that way. My used car is worth under 3,000 dollars, so I was not going to hold my breath for a big fat check or anything. I did decide to skip the option of doing a trade in for my old used car. It may have helped a little in the overall price of getting a used car deal in Las Vegas, but I think I'm better off selling the car myself. The main focus of the dealership is to sell you a new vehicle, not trade in old used cars for new ones. Each used car lot in Las Vegas that I went to asked me if I wanted to trade in my old vehicle, but I declined. Tell me if you guys normally trade in your old used car when you are shopping for a new car if you simply sell the car yourself. Thanks for watching! Buying a Used Car - Part 5: The Paperwork

06:52
Are you looking for a used vehicle? Part 5 of this series discusses the paperwork, formalities and techniques in negotiating once you've settled on a used car. Negotiation and price are the biggest hassles of buying a new or used car. The video will take you through a discussion on the various kinds of pricing in industry (wholesale vs retail), where a vehicle is purchased (auction, used car dealer, new car dealer or private sale) and checking the title of the car to make sure it matches the vehicle and the car isn't branded, salvaged or has any registered liens. Furthermore purchasing a used car information report, carproof or carfax accident reports and looking at past service records is discussed. Factors affecting insurance rates are also touched upon. Some tips on negotiation, including setting your price, timing, ignoring dealer fluff, purchasing warranties, avoiding unnecessary fees, spotting shady excuses, trade-ins, purchasing accessories from the dealer are presented. Finally once the vehicle is purchased, it must undergo an emission test and pass a safety certification before you are ready to accept the keys and drive away. Buying a used vehicle can be one of the largest purchases you make in your life. Significant savings can be had by purchasing a used car over a new car, however don't neglect to inspect the vehicle thoroughly in order to avoid significant headaches down the road. This six part used vehicle buying guide covers: 1) Exterior inspection 2) Mechanical Inspection 3) Interior Inspection 4) Road Test 5) The Paperwork & Procedures 6) After You Buy This video was shot with a Canon Rebel EOS T5i DSLR and a Canon PowerShot SX130IS camera. Top 10 Ways to Beat a Car Dealer | Auto Expert John Cadogan | Australia

11:14
Here are the updated top 10 tips for beating a car dealer and buying a cheap new car without getting ripped off. It's how you can fight back, and organise a much better deal on basically any new car. Buying a car is not fun. Everyone on the other team is match fit, and systematically incentivised to rip you off - if you let them. But it doesn't have to be this way. Here's how to recognise the car dealer's tricks and sidestep the traps. Let's focus on the car you want. It might not look like a commodity, but that's exactly what it is. There's no qualitative difference between the car you want at Dealership A and the same car at Dealership B. They came out of the same factory. Their mothers can't tell them apart. The dealership doesn't change them in any way, or add intrinsic value. The dealership is actually just a fancy vending machine. When you're buying a commodity, the only factor that matters is the price. Lowest price wins. That's what you need to deliver. For more advice, fill in the contact form on the right at www.autoexpert.com.au - I'll help you see just how low the price on your new car really goes. I'll also show you how to put your trade-in out to tender and arrive at the highest possible price, if you lack the time or the inclination to sell your old car privately. Buying a car is not an uplifting experience. It should be, but it's not. It's challenging, stressful and generally fairly unpleasant. But it doesn't have to be a rip-off. You absolutely can drive away in a cheap new car without being absolutely violated by a car dealer. Especially now.

You Should Avoid These Mistakes When Buying Your First Car Used - Tips for Buying a Used Car

06:03
Check Out Downforce: https://downforce.xyz/ Regardless where you buy your first car from, if it’s used, make sure to get it inspected by an independent mechanic or service center that specializes in the brand you want. One of the most expensive lessons you can learn in life is to finance a used car with loads of problems under the hood. Here are the rest of our tips of mistakes to avoid when buying your first car! -------------------------------------------------------- Read More About It: https://thebreakdown.xyz/auto -------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe!: https://TheBreakdown.xyz/SubAuto Our Website: https://TheBreakdown.xyz/auto Facebook: https://Facebook.com/BreakdownAuto Instagram: https://Instagram.com/BreakdownAutomotive Email: [email protected] -------------------------------------------------------- Get Your Canon T5i ► https://TheBreakdown.xyz/T5i -------------------------------------------------------- Get Your GoPro Hero 6 ► https://TheBreakdown.xyz/Hero6 -------------------------------------------------------- Get Your Rode Shotgun Mic ► https://TheBreakdown.xyz/Rode -------------------------------------------------------- More About This Video Think of it this way. If the car you’re buying is “pre-enjoyed,” it has a story to tell. You need to know that story before you’re paying monthly for a car that you can’t even drive. The good news is, once you find this mechanic that specializes in your favorite car brand, you’ll be able to go back to them again and again for your excessive amount of maintenance. But don’t worry. Before you blow your money on an inspection, check the basics. Make sure the VIN on the car matches the VIN on the CarFax or Autocheck. I know it sounds simple, but shady dealers are all about building trust quickly. If they can achieve that, you’ll miss small details. Also be sure to check for tire wear, brakes, paint imperfections, and fluids under the car. On top of that, be sure to check the exterior for damage. Even if a car has been repaired from an accident, it’s easy to tell if it’s been botched. Check for unusual panel gaps, unless you’re buying a Tesla. In that case, check for normal panel gaps. That’s a huge sign the Tesla has been crashed. I get it, we’ve all been looking for our next car and watched every single video about the car we can find, but be careful when it comes to large media outlets and their reviews of cars. I’m not saying they don’t provide good information - they do, but search out owner reviews as well. They’ll tell you the parts you won’t want to hear if you’re only focused on how cool you’ll feel driving the car. It’s great to think about how cool you’ll look driving the car and how it’ll make you feel, but don’t forget how you’ll feel when you’re standing at the reception desk of the service center forking over thousands of dollars for spark plugs, fuel injectors, coils, control arm bushings, an alignment, brakes, and rotors all at once. And then while paying have to hear them tell you your air strut needs to be watched for a leak. Let’s face it. A dealership is a business, and the salesman is NOT your friend. They’re there to make a profit and move on. Never think for a second the dealer is going to lose money by selling you a car. It’s the same as thinking a casino is going to lose money by paying out to a winner. The house always wins. But some places are more ethical than others. It’s easy to spot out buy here pay here lots that are shady, but what’s more difficult is uncovering the truth to dealerships that have everything in check on the surface. Read what other people are saying about a place on Google and Facebook, and be careful for fake reviews. A lot of dealerships have been known to have fake reviews to hide horrible negative reviews. I hate to be the one to say it, because I certainly did not follow this rule. But take my advice from my experience. Don’t buy your dream car just because you can get it cheap. If it’s a couple years old and has already lost half of it’s value, there’s a reason. As much as I love BMW, their lineup depreciates quickly. Owners who can afford the car new will trade the car quickly when a new model comes out. Because of that, there’s an influx in the used market where people then buy them for a cheaper price. After a while, those owners realize they don’t want to pay these ridiculous maintenance costs for an older car. So the cycle continues until the model is cheap enough for first time car buyers. Thanks for watching our tips for buying your first car or tips for buying a used car. Hopefully our video on mistakes to avoid when buying your first car have helped!

13 Car Buying Mistakes - How Auto Dealerships rip you off - How to buy a Vehicle from a Car Dealer

08:00
SUBSCRIBE HERE!! https://www.youtube.com/kevinhunter7 How do you buy a car from a dealership, with cash, with no credit, with bad credit? Here are the best car buying tips available today! See our latest video "TOP 10 Tips to get the BEST CAR DEAL" (10 best car buying tips / advice) at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lik6d0mcNp4 Are you a savvy car shopper who needs a little car buying advice? Kevin Hunter hosts "The Business Forum Show" outlines the 13 car mistakes to avoid making at the dealership. See the new video on "Getting Pre-Approved on Car Loans!" at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KSmB3HE90E CATEGORIES: car, truck, suv, auto, used cars, autos, mechanic, automobile, vehicle, dealer, automotive news, auto shop, warranty. People in the car business who profit from your mistakes by taking advantage of you will rant about things we share here and disagree with the content, but don't be fooled by their rhetoric. A dishonest car salesperson absolutely loves an ignorant car shopper. We will try to help you avoid the common mistakes, and assist you in sorting the facts from the baloney in this business. We profit nothing regardless of what you choose to do, and we don't mind if you choose to not use the information. If you do, you'll find yourself walking away with a much better car deal. If you don't, you don't have much room to complain when this stuff happens. How do Car Dealers rip you off? This video presents 13 different car buying mistakes that you can't afford to make when car shopping. If you're going to car shop and don't want to be taken advantage of, it's up to you to learn about car salesmen and auto dealerships, and the dirty tricks they play to rip people off. You also need to learn about the scams and inappropriate products sold by both new and used car dealers, and why some things dealers offer should NEVER be purchased. These include things like the theft protection scam, GAP insurance that is sold to consumers who either didn't need it, or could have purchased much cheaper from their own insurance agent, and extended warranties that are often sold to buyers who didn't want them or need them. To make matters worse, there are also thousands of car dealers who employ finance officers that are some of the most unscrupulous people you'll ever meet, willing to tell you any lie they can come up with to sell you everything I've described, and more. The worst ones will even claim your interest rate on your loan is only available if you buy all the added products they are proposing. They claim the 'bank' wants the car protected.... which is BS... On the contrary, the bank wants your loan as small as possible so if they need to repossess the car, they can get their money out of it. This video was published to help you discover how you can save time and money on your next new or used car purchase by doing your homework first, and then going car shopping as an informed buyer. Is it unreasonable to expect a little old-fashioned honesty? We don't think so, but we are more than amused by the countless car salespeople or car dealers who contact us and state that we are making a 'small problem' sound far worse than it is. They also tell us the entire video is completely fabricated baloney. Really? Are you kidding us? We know there are honest people in the car business, and we receive positive comments from many of them, but it's definitely a buyer beware world out on the car lot! For all of you car buyers who are well steeped in reality, if you watched the video "Confessions of a car dealers backroom" you need to see this video. By understanding what mistakes to avoid, you'll not only become a smarter car buyer, but you'll also better understand what not to tell a car dealer when buying a car. It's true that you can play all your cards up front with an honest dealer, but unfortunately, they represent the minority of dealer owners (truly transparent and honest dealers make up about 40% of all dealers), and you are unlikely to know the difference until it's far too late. Be smart, do your homework, and you'll come home with a car deal that's good for you and the dealer. After all, that's what fairness is all about. We don't endorse anyone being ripped off, and that includes some customers who think it's 'justice' to turn tables and try to 'steal' a car from a dealer. If you do stuff like this, that makes you a crook too, doesn't it? When a car dealer loses money on a deal, they just take it from the next unsuspecting person. We don't think your neighbor should have to pay for your car, so we encourage you to be fair and honest. Everything we talk about has to do with fairness and honesty, and that works both ways. Respect the dealers right to make money in your quest to get a fair and honest car deal. It's this kind of attitude by car dealers and consumers alike that will change the car business. 5 Car Buying Mistakes to Avoid at the Dealership

04:29
The 5 biggest car buying mistakes to avoid at the dealership. Best Auto Lender: http://bit.ly/lightsteam_loans Please subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/c/HonestFinance I''ll go over 5 of the biggest car buying mistakes consumers make when purchasing a car. These 5 mistakes will help you better understand how to buy a car the right way. So you want to buy a car? Avoid these car buying mistakes at the dealership and your next purchase might just make more financial sense. Let's start with the weather. The time of year does affect the price of vehicles. Don't buy a car when everybody else is. Buy your vehicle at the end of the year when the salesmen have an incentive to sell more to hit year end goals. Now onto research. Check your insurance before you buy a car. You'd be surprised how much some cost. Check on gas millage and if it requires premium gas. Check reviews and consumer reports. Don't buy a car based solely on monthly payment. You'll get ripped off if you do this. You only need to extend your loan to get a better payment. The price of the car is more important, but you need to have an idea of how much car you can afford. Make sure to get a good trade in value too. You want to get a great price on the car, trade and financing. Did you know that extended warranties are negotiable? Buy one if you'd like, but they are negotiable. Check your local banks for the most current rates and don't let the dealer find them unless they're competitive. Remember that the average car loan is over 60 months at a rate of 4.2%, so most of us are probably ending up upside down in our vehicles. How to get the most value from your used car trade-in

00:32
Kevin breaks down how to get the most money for your trade-in! http://www.stanleysubaru.com/ TRANSCRIPT: Hi, I'm Kevin from Stanley Subaru. I am the pre-owned sales manager, and I'm here to talk to you about the three best ways to get the most for your trade. Number one: clean your car. A cleaner car is always worth more money. Tip number two: Any recent maintenance you've had done to your car, please bring it in, bring your receipt in, your folder in. And number three: trade it before it goes over 100,000 miles. You always get more money under 100,000 miles. And that's my three best tips for getting the most for your trade. This is Kevin for Stanley Subaru, the smart choice, 22 Bar Harbor Road, Ellsworth, Maine.

Where Do Used Cars Come From? - Used Car Buying Tips

02:58
Do you know where used cars come from? Not all of them are trade-ins. Is your next used car a flood victim or from a junk yard? Find out... http://the-auto-doctor.com Used car buying tips to make sure you don't get stuck with a piece of junk that is going to require expensive repairs that don't fall within a warranty. Video Information: Where Do Used Cars Come From? Some people bring in a car and trade it for a new one. But there are other places used cars come from. You remember something called Katrina, that big hurricane that wiped out Louisiana? Thousands and thousands of cars were under water in Katrina. Those cars went through a shop, got kind of half-rebuilt and then they ship them somewhere else. Unsuspecting people bought the cars that come from the flood waters. Other places cars come from -- junkyard. Will the next used car you're going to buy come from a junkyard? People buy junkers, fix them up and flip the car. In fact they have "reality shows," about people doing that to cars. Why is it important to know if the car has been repainted? Has it been wrecked? Is it a salvage? Did it come from a flooded area? You can tell by looking at the car. I know what you're thinking. What about CARFAX? CARFAX, they're good. In fact they're great in a lot of situations. But they don't have everything. If that car was wrecked and there's a report made on it and an insurance company paid money to fix that car, it will show up on the CARFAX. If it didn't get a report made up on it, if the insurance company didn't pay money to get it fixed, it's not going to show up on the CARFAX. CARFAX is good but CARFAX is not all-knowing, all-seeing. It's great, but people have ways of hiding the truth from CARFAX. Has a car has been repainted? How do we know? And why is it important? Find out! TOP 10 TIPS - BEAT the CAR DEALER FINANCE OFFICE -Best "How to" Auto F&I and Vehicle Loan Advice

13:51
SUBSCRIBE HERE!! https://www.youtube.com/user/kevinhunter7 How to buy a car from a dealer with cash, with no credit, with bad credit, with your own bank financing, or with dealer financing. You need to know how to buy a car from a dealership. In this series, you'll get the best car buying tips anywhere. CATEGORIES: car, truck, suv, auto, used cars, autos, mechanic, automobile, vehicle, dealer, automotive news, auto shop, warranty, loans. Car buyers wonder "How do I buy a car and not get ripped off?" Beating the finance man at the dealership is a big part of it. From the Author of "13 Car Buying Mistakes" and "Car Scam of the Decade," Kevin Hunter presents these ten tips for beating the car dealership finance office. Has the Dealer Finance Manager ever ripped you off? Car Dealers have a right to make a profit, but do they have a right to lie to you? From the author of "13 Car Buying Mistakes," here are the "10 BEST Auto Finance tips" if you are buying a car! Want to know how you beat the Car Dealership Finance Man? This MUST WATCH video for Car Buyers is the advice you've been waiting for on how to survive the finance office at a car dealer. Kevin Hunter lays out the products, strategies, and tricks the finance officers pull every day on unsuspecting car buyers, and many of them get away with what they do. You don't have to be one of the people they succeed in deceiving. The F&I Manager, finance man, loan officer, business manager, or whatever the car dealer wants to call him or her... just remember this is the most skilled salesperson the dealership employs. They make more money than any other person in the dealership for a very good reason. They are sharks, and they are NOT looking out for you. They are looking out for themselves and the interests of their dealership. When they "shop" your car deal to many different banks, they are looking for the bank that allows them to pack the most product into your car deal. When you start seeing bank names like Santander, Capital One, Chase, Wells Fargo, Space Coast Credit Union, Regional Acceptance Corporation, Ally... just to name a few, you know you're sitting in a car dealers finance office. Kevin Hunter covers everything from extended warranties, GAP insurance, theft protection... otherwise known as window etching, paint sealers, carpet and fabric protection. All the details on HOW TO BUY A CAR, TRUCK, or SUV. This video was published to help you discover how you can save time and money on your next new or used car purchase by doing your homework first, and then going car shopping as an informed buyer. We are more than amused by a few of the car salespeople or car dealers who contact us and state that we are making a 'small problem' sound far worse than it is. We know there are honest people in the car business, and we receive positive comments from many of them, but it's definitely a buyer beware world out on the car lot! For all of you car buyers who are well steeped in reality, if you watched the video "Confessions of a car dealers backroom" you understand why you need to see this video. We encourage you to be fair and honest. As a car shopper, live up to your end of the bargain, because it works both ways. Respect the dealers right to make money in your quest to get a fair and honest car deal, proving to them you're an honest person too. It's this kind of attitude by car dealers and consumers alike that will change the car business. We wish you the best!

4 Basic Negotiation Tips For Buying a Used Car Online (The Easiest Way to Negotiate a Car Deal)

11:14
4 Basic Negotiation Tips For Buying a Used Car Online (The Easiest Way to Negotiate a Car Deal) In this video I’m going to share 4 simple tactics I used to save 10% or $2,000 on my recent used car purchase. These are tips that have worked for several people I know personally and they work. Recently we purchased a new vehicle (Cut to me by the Rav 4) and list details 1. Step 1 find the car you want online, but don’t you dare go down to the dealership. pick up the phone and ask to speak to their internet sales manager and be ready to make an offer Cut to me calling the dearlship After you have called the dealership and made a starting offer see what they counter back with. Follow up by asking them how much the car would be out the door with taxes and licenses. 2. Stall the deal At the point tell them you will need to call them back because you need to discuss the details over with your wife. If you can get their e-mail address or cell phone number to text them you will have a huge advantage because each communication following you will have more time to strategically negotiate the deal. Because you have asked how much the car will be. They will think they have you at that point. Text or e-mail if they are able to hold the car and for how long. They will likely respond by saying they can only hold it for that day and no longer. 3. Need additional time- At this point text or e-mail them back and say you will need additional time to get your funds together and will not be to able to come to the dealership. Mention that you might consider the car in the future if it is still on the lot and then walk away from your phone for a while. How to Buy a Used Car

Watch more How to Buy a Car videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/447-How-to-Buy-a-Used-Car It won't be a bargain if you have to spend a ton of money on repairs, so learn how to spot a lemon. Step 1: Figure out how much you can spend Figure out how much you can spend -- either in cash or in monthly loan payments. Tip Don’t forget about the costs of owning a car, like insurance and maintenance. Step 2: Research models Research the models you’re considering. Car information websites will help you compare both the performance and long-term reliability of various cars. Step 3: Locate car Locate a car that you want to check out. Search used car lots, classified ads, car dealerships that sell pre-owned vehicles, and special used-car publications and websites. Step 4: Ask seller about condition Ask the seller about the general condition of the car, including mileage, extra features, and whether service records are available. Tip If you’re buying the car from an individual, ask if he or she is the original owner and the reason for selling the car. Step 5: Inspect & test-drive Inspect the car and test-drive it. You want to make sure that it performs well, runs smoothly, and feels right. Tip Don’t let the seller rush you through the test-drive. Step 6: Find out if warranty included Find out if the car comes with a warranty. Tip If a warranty isn’t included, have a mechanic inspect the car for you. Let the seller know that the sale is contingent on a professional inspection. Step 7: Get vehicle history report Get a vehicle history report from one of the companies that sell them online. See if the vehicle has been damaged in an accident or flood -- and if the odometer may have been rolled back. Step 8: Find out worth Find out how much the car is worth by consulting online used car guides or visiting the library. Step 9: Negotiate Negotiate. Using the market value of the car as a guide, make an offer on the low end. Don’t be afraid to walk away. Tip If you’re trading in your car or having a dealership arrange financing, negotiate the price of the car before you discuss trade-in value and financing to assure you get the best deal. Step 10: Close the deal Close the deal. If you’re buying from a private seller, make sure you get the title. Register your new vehicle with your state’s Department of Motor Vehicles. Tip If you’re buying from a dealership, they will handle most of the paperwork for you. Just make sure you read any contracts or paperwork carefully. Step 11: Drive home Drive home in your swank new ride. Did You Know? Did you know? On average, new cars lose 15% to 30% of their value the moment they’re driven off the dealer’s lot.

Used cars are sold through a variety of outlets, including franchise and independent car dealers, rental car companies, leasing offices, auctions, and private party sales. Some car retailers offer "no-haggle prices," "certified" used cars, and extended service plans or warranties. Vehicle history reports. In the United States, an estimated 34% of consumers (in 2006) are buying a Vehicle history report for used cars. Vehicle history reports are one way to check the track record of any used vehicle. Vehicle history reports provide customers with a record based on the vehicle's serial number (VIN). These reports will indicate items of public record, such as vehicle title branding, lemon law buybacks, odometer fraud, and product recall. The report may indicate minor/moderate collision damage or improper vehicle maintenance. An attempt to identify vehicles which have been previously owned by hire car rental agencies, police and emergency services or taxi fleets is also made. Consumers should research vehicles carefully, as these reporting services only report the information to which they have access. In some countries the government is a provider of vehicle history, but this is usually a limited service providing information on just one aspect of the history, such as the MOT history. The U.S. Department of Justice's National Motor Vehicle Title Registration System has only about a dozen approved data providers, about half of which sell car history data to consumers; the rest work only with car dealers. And none of them are currently free of charge to consumers and many are not free even to the car dealers. The Better Business Bureau recommends using one of these approved data providers when researching a used car.The history reports use several sources to gather the data for each vehicle including, the police, DVLA, finance houses, the national mileage register, insurance companies and industry bodies. Several of the services, most notably those in the United Kingdom and the United States, sell reports to dealers and then encourage the dealers to display the reports on their Internet sites. Th Dealer or Retail Price is the price you should expect to pay if buying from a licensed new-car or used-car dealer — retail price. Dealer Trade-in Price or wholesale price is the price you should expect to receive from a dealer if you trade in a car. This is also the price that a dealer will typically pay for a car at a dealer wholesale auction. Private-Party Price is the price you should expect to pay if you were buying from an individual. A private-party seller is hoping to get more money than they would with a trade-in to a dealer. A private-party buyer is hoping to pay less than the dealer retail price. The growth of the Internet has fueled the availability of information on the prices of used cars. This information was once only available in trade publications that dealers had access to. There are now numerous sources for used car pricing. Multiple sources of used car pricing means that listed values from different sources may differ. Each pricing guide receiving data from different sources and makes different judgments about that data. Pricing of used cars can be affected by geography. For example, convertibles have a higher demand in warmer climates than in cooler areas. Similarly, pickup trucks may be more in demand in rural than urban settings. The overall condition of the vehicle has a major impact on pricing. Condition is based on appearances, vehicle history, mechanical condition, and mileage. There is much subjectivity in how the condition of a car is evaluated. There are various theories as to how the market determines the prices of used cars sold by private parties, especially relative to new cars. One theory suggests that new car dealers are able to put more effort into selling a car, and can therefore stimulate stronger demand. Another theory suggests that owners of problematic cars ("lemons") are more likely to want to sell their cars than owners of perfectly functioning vehicles. Therefore, someone buying a used car bears a higher risk of buying a lemon, and the market price tends to adjust downwards to reflect that Give the Gift of Prime https://goo.gl/YJTEMn Thanks for your support. 8 Reasons To Buy From a Used Car Dealer

04:30
http://www.eastsidekia.ca/used-inventory/index.htm# I'm Kelly Temple, General Manager of Eastside Kia. One of the questions that I'm frequently asked is why should a person purchase a PRE-OWNED VEHICLE FROM A CAR DEALERSHIP...instead of just buying privately. COMMON REASONS THAT PEOPLE BUY PRIVATELY I think that there are a few primary reasons why consumers purchase privately: 1. They feel that might get better pricing...primarily because they won't have to pay GST 2. They don't like the hassle of dealing with the stereo-typed "Used car salesman" that they don't trust. Well, today I wanted to take a few moments give consumers some really good reasons why they should consider buying their next pre-owned vehicle from a car dealership...Some points you should consider... WHY BUY FROM A BRANDED DEALER: 1. Better selection in just one spot a. When you buy privately, you have to drive all over the city. b. For example: when we shot this video, we had 12 pre-owned Sportage from 2006-2012's... c. And recently we had over 40 pre-owned SUV's in stock which included Kia and all makes & models. 2. And...better selection leads to better pricing. a. Reality is consumers are just like car dealers...everyone wants maximum value for the vehicle when they sell it. b. But...dealers compete with other dealers. This creates a competitive market...driving prices down...which is great for the consumer. 3. TRADE IN a. As well, at a dealership, you can trade in your existing vehicle...no matter how old or rough shape. b. And when you do, you only pay GST on the difference of the selling price. A part from selection and price, there are a lot of other reasons that it is to a persons advantage to purchase from a dealership...things like "PEACE OF MIND".... 4. SAFETY INSPECTION a. All dealers are required by Alberta law to perform a safety inspection on every vehicle we sell. b. I'm holding a copy of it here... i. 64 inspection points marked compliant or non-compliant -- all safety related to your vehicle. ii. A spot where a licensed journeyman technician must sign who has performed the inspection...along with his Alberta certificate number. In essence, they are putting their reputation and livelihood on the line stating this report is accurate. iii. And there is a place where you the purchases will sign your name. iv. This happens with every sale...you don't have to go out and pay to have some company do this for you. 5. CAR PROOF a. And, most dealers today provide their customers will what is called a CAR-PROOF. b. This document discloses to their customer all kinds of useful information: What province it's been registered in and if it has been in any accidents. 6. LIABILITY a. Dealers are also responsible under the law to ensure that your vehicle is lien free when you purchased it. b. We're currently dealing with a person who purchased a vehicle privately...who had a loan on the vehicle. Unfortunately, the seller didn't pay off the lien on the vehicle, creating a legal nightmare for the customer. 7. CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED PROGRAM a. And most manufacturers today have what is called a CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED PROGRAM which provides numerous benefits to consumers such as: i. EXTENDING the length of your warranty ii. Providing EXTREMELY LOW INTEREST RATES. iii. Example: Kia has a program that offer interest on a pre-owned Kia starting as low as 0.9% 8. IN HOUSE FINANCING a. And that's another great reason...convenience. Everything happens at one stop: b. Pick out your vehicle...and we can help you arrange your... i. Financing ii. We can even register and pick up your license plate for you. YOU SEE...one of the real benefits from buying from a branded dealership is SERVICE...and TRUST. You know that after you buy...that dealership will still be there to help take care of you in the future. So when it comes to purchasing your pre-owned vehicle, give some thought to purchasing from a branded dealer. Until the next time, thanks for watching! New Used Car Dealers receive Registration Certificates

15:15
Friday 1st May, 2015 represented an important day in the history of Trinidad and Tobago for the promotion of free trade and entrepreneurship. Sixty-nine (69) companies were presented with new Dealer Registration Certificates to allow them to engage in trade in the local foreign used car industry which has made a significant contribution to the level of economic activity in the country over the last twenty years. Senator the Honourable Vasant Bharath, Minister of Trade, Industry, Investment and Communications, and Minister in the Ministry of Finance and the Economy, in his Feature Address said that “the Industry has made a significant contribution to the level of economic activity in Trinidad and Tobago over the years via increases in employment and revenue generation.” Providing details on the 264 applications received to date, the Minister shared that 140 companies were investigated and the 69 presented with Certificates fulfilled all the requirements. Of the number investigated, 55 met the infrastructure requirements but are awaiting documentation. When all required documentations are submitted, Registration Certificates will be issued by the Trade Licence Unit. The remaining 16 of the 140 investigated did not meet the criteria. There are 124 applications yet to be investigated and processed. This process will commence on May 11, 2015 and companies will be registered, providing all requirements are met. This exercise is expected to be completed by June 30, 2015. Senator Bharath noted that “coupled with the successes that were recorded by the Industry, there were certain inherent challenges as well. Such challenges could have led to deleterious consequences if they were not adequately addressed by Government.” As such, the Revised Policy and Procedures (2015-2018), among other activities, was in response to the fact that “the Government saw the need to intervene to better regulate and manage the Industry.” He told the new dealers that “my Government is one of inclusion and participation in decision-making and following a decision to level the playing field and make the Industry more transparent and competitive, the Ministry decided to invite new Dealers to enter the Industry in 2012. However, while the Ministry was busy focusing on opening up the Industry to benefit consumers, there were those who were already operating in the Industry and who were opposed this initiative and were concerned solely with preserving their own self-interest and were reluctant to introduce new players in the Industry. But the Ministry held firm to its principles and ideals and today I am delighted to be presenting these Dealership Certificates to you, the New Dealers.” To which he received lusty applause. Mr. Norris Herbert, Permanent Secretary (Ag.) said in his Welcome Address “the journey has only just begun. Now you are in the driver’s seat and great responsibilities lie ahead of you. We urge you to obey the laws by abiding by the guidelines, policies and procedures of the Revised Policy 2015-2018. Provide impeccable service to your passengers (customers) and you will arrive at your destination safely (your business will be successful)”. The new dealers were also urged, by both the Minister and the Chief Trade Officer to adhere to the existing Licensing Regime, New Policy Guidelines and Regulations and honour the Warranty Agreement as outlined in the Revised Policy and Procedures (2015-2018) in order to maintain their Dealership Certificates. Three new used car dealers provided testimonials at the Presentation Ceremony. Mr. Jeffrey Joseph of Joseph’s Motors Limited, Tobago noted that “given the varying location of Foreign Used Car Dealers across the country, we are now able to deliver a personalized yet professional service to prospective used car owners. The Foreign Used Car Dealers are therefore, left with no choice but to supply the market with Quality Foreign Used Cars at affordable prices and to further provide professional after sales support services.” Ms. Nathalie Johnson of Andass Rental & Transport Service said “today marks a new dawn in the life of prospective entrepreneurs in the car dealership industry. Our journey has been arduous. The importation of foreign used cars, has allowed middle to lower income earners, small and medium businesses to acquire vehicles desperately needed for their convenience.” Mr. David Ramsingh of Imexpo Group Limited reminded the audience of when this journey began and publicly recognized the invaluable contribution of the staff of the Trade Licence Unit, saying “I stand before you all here in high spirits knowing that the Honourable Minister Vasant Bharath and his hard working team at the Trade Licence Unit in his Ministry have made entrepreneurship a reality to these additional used car dealers in Trinidad and Tobago.”
