08 common Interview question and answers - Job Interview Skills 1. "Tell me a little about yourself." You should take this opportunity to show your communication skills by speaking clearly and concisely in an organized manner. Because there is no right or wrong answer for this question, it is important to appear friendly. 2. "What are your strengths?" This is a popular interview question. They want to know what you think of yourself. Although this is a general question, there is a wrong and right answer. The wrong answer is a generic answer saying you are organized and friendly. Although it will not hurt you during the interview, it will certainly not help you either. Answer this question based on the type of job you are applying for. 3. "What are your weaknesses?" For this answer, you should display a weakness that can be seen as a strength. There are many types of answers that will work. Some answers will be good answers for certain jobs, while the same answer will be a bad answer for a different job. Select an answer that will work for the position you are applying for. 4. "Where do you see yourself in five years?" This question primarily depends on where you are in your career. A person with 5 years of experience will have different goals than a person with no work experience. This question is asked to see how serious a candidate is about his or her career. Some people might not know their goals, and some people might have goals of becoming rich and retiring early. Those are incorrect answers for this question. The type of answer you want to give is an ambitious answer that shows you really love your career. A good interviewer will read between the lines and find out if a person is going to be a hard worker or just a mediocre one. Being descriptive and shooting for a big goal is something interviewers want to hear. 5. "What do you know about our company?" A typical job interview question, asked to find out how much company research you have conducted, is "What do you know about this company?" Prepare in advance, and in a word, research, so you can provide relevant and current information about your prospective employer to the interviewer. 6. "Are you good at dealing with change?" Dealing with change is common in the work place. A simple yes will not be sufficient to impress the interviewer. This is another type of question where everyone will have similar answers. Of course everyone is going to claim being excellent dealing with change. You got to communicate that you are really good at dealing with change. 7. "Do you work well under pressure?" In most cases, the best answer to this question is answering yes. Working well under pressure is a good trait to have. However, I think if you answer that you work the same with pressure and without pressure, the interviewer will be more impressed. However, you will need to explain in words why this is better. 8. "How do you make important decisions?" There are many ways to answer this question, and if you have a reasonable method of making decisions, it will probably be sufficient. One answer I thought of included not being afraid of asking your manager. You can follow up by saying even the best needs mentoring, and you always want to improve. So basically, this could work as an answer, but depending on the job, you might have a better shot with an answer like my example.
How to succeed in your JOB INTERVIEW: Behavioral Questions

22:26
Think about your last job interview. What did you do to prepare for it, and how did it go? Job interviews are difficult whether you are an English learner or a native speaker. If you want to get the job, you need to prepare for the job interview. In many English-speaking countries, interviews often include behavioral questions. In this lesson, I will teach you about behavioral interview questions and how to answer them. This video also has a listening practice portion to train you to recognize these questions, as well as tips on how to prepare for them. Try our quiz at the end to practice what you have learned, nail that interview, and get that job! Then work like a dog for the rest of your life :) Take the quiz: https://www.engvid.com/job-interview-behavioral-questions/ TRANSCRIPT Hello. My name is Emma, and in today's video I am going to teach you how to do really well on your interview. So, if you're looking for a job and you have an interview coming up, I'm going to talk to you about a type of question you might hear during your interview. I'm going to tell you how to recognize this type of question, and how to answer this type of question, along with many tips that can help you. Okay? So if you're about to do an interview, don't stress out - we can do it. All right, so let's look at the types of questions we're going to talk about today. Today we're talking about behavioural interview questions. Okay? So let's look at some examples to understand what I mean by "behavioural interview questions". Okay, so we have this question: "Tell me about a time when you worked effectively under pressure." So take a moment to think about that question. "Give an example of how you worked on a team.", "Describe a time when you had to deal with a very upset customer.", "Have you ever made a mistake? How did you handle it?" Okay, so when we're talking about behavioural questions, it's important to think about: What is being asked of you? Okay? So, the main thing with these types of questions is this word here: "Give an example". Behavioural questions... behavioural interview questions require that you give an example of how you have dealt with or handled a situation. So, my next question to you is: Do you think we're talking about an example of the past, something that's happened; the present; or the future, something that could happen? So look at these questions. Are we talking about a past example, a present example, or a future example? If you said: "Past example", you are correct. When we talk about behavioural interview questions, what the interviewer is asking is they want you to give a past example. Okay? Something you have done in the past. How can you recognize these types of questions? Because there are many different interview types of questions, these are just one type, so how do you know if it's behavioural interview question? That's a very good question. One way to know is by looking for key words. Okay? So, a lot of the times behavioural questions start off with some sort of hint or clue. "Tell me about a time" is an example. Okay? "Tell me about a time when you worked effectively under pressure.", "Tell me about a time when you disagreed with your boss.", "Tell me about a time when you had problems with your co-workers." Okay? So lot of the times you will hear: "Tell me about" or "Tell me about a time", and that's a signal: Okay, this is probably a behavioural interview question. You might have this as a starter to the question, they might ask you: "Give me an example of how you worked on a team." or "Give me an example of a time when you showed leadership." Okay? So those would both be behavioural questions. Again: "Describe a time". A lot of the times you'll hear the word: "a time" or "an example". So this is another common phrase you will hear with behavioural interview questions. You might also have a question like this: "Have you ever made a mistake?", "Have you ever had difficulties working with somebody?", "Have you ever had a conflict with a customer?", "How did you handle it? What did you do?" So these types of questions, they don't have the same key words as the ones above, but usually they're written or they're said with the present perfect tense, and usually you'll hear a second follow-up question: "How did you handle it?" Okay? So, key word here: "did". If you hear the past tense in the question, then they probably want you to answer the question using a past example. Okay? So, this might be a little bit confusing, you might be a bit worried, you know: "Oh, these questions seem really hard." Well, the very first step is recognizing these questions, so that's what we're going to do right now. We are going to practice recognizing behavioural interview questions. Okay, so now we are going to practice identifying behavioural interview questions. Okay? […]

Why Some Countries Are Poor and Others Rich

The reason why some countries are rich and others poor depends on many things, including the quality of their institutions, the culture they have, the natural resources they find and what latitude they're on. Welcome to the evolution of USB... The path from the original IBM PC to now, has been a relatively short one, but still one tangled in webs of cables. USB seems so common place now, it's sometimes hard to imagine what we used before it? Well, thanks to a multitude of connections such as RS-232 (Serial), Centronics Parellel and the splendid Gameport, we were able to use many a device without issue.... maybe. ** For exclusive videos, mystery boxes and other rewards, please consider supporting me at; https://www.patreon.com/nostalgianerd?ty=h ** ☟Sharing☟ If you wish to share this video in forums, social media, on your website, *please do so*! Behavioral questions can be answered using the STAR formula and in this video, we break down the STAR formula and show you how to use it to your advantage to you are prepared to answer any behavioral question that comes your way. How to Answer Behavioral Interview Questions Using the STAR Formula STAR stands for: Situation – Task – Action - Result 1. First, describe a work related Situation or Task that you needed to accomplish, and be concise. 2. Then describe the Action you took. Don’t tell them what you might do or would do, you need to tell them what you did. 3. Finally, describe what happened -- the result. What did you accomplish? What did you learn? How much time or money did you save? And most importantly does your result solve the problem you described in step 1. That’s the formula for answering any behavioral question. What was the question? Venn Diagrams and Sets: TES Maths Resource of the Week

06:51
What is it? If it was up to me, Andy Lutwyche would be knighted for Services to Maths Resources. I do not think there has been a single person who has had a more direct impact on the activities and tasks I use in lessons, and I know my students are better off for it. From Clumsy Clive to Crack the Safe, via Codebreakers, this man keeps on producing the goods. And now, to round off another year of Resource of the Week, Andy is back with a brand new type of resource: What was the question? Here, There are four sets of four problems where students have the answer but there are blanks in the questions which require filling in. Sounds simple enough, but the clever design of the questions really makes the students think hard, and promotes some fascinating discussions. This particularly member of the series concerns Venn Diagrams and set notation, and certainly got me scratching my head (in a good way!) as I was working through the problems myself. How can it be used? Andy explains in the notes how he uses these activities as starters or plenaries to his lesson to promote deep thinking and great discussions. For me, they could even form the main body of a lesson. Imagine you have taught the basics of Venn Diagrams and set notation. Students know all the symbols and a fairly confident at answering questions rering them to complete and interpret Venn Diagrams. This activity is then perfect to help take their understanding to the next level. Essentially students become questions creators tied to the constraint of the answer. This is challenging enough, but this activity also compels them to consider whether the question they have come up with is the only possible correct one, or whether there are a few/infinitely more out there. This is a wonderful activity, from a wonderful series, from a wonderful author. Thanks so much for sharing Craig Barton To access the resource and join in the discussion, or to view all the other Maths Resources of the Week in this series, just visit https://www.tes.com/teaching-resources/blog/maths

How the World Map Looks Wildly Different Than You Think

06:20
All of us have seen a world map at some point in our lives before, but it is very difficult to imagine how certain countries and parts of the world compare to each other in size that are far apart. In this video, I explore why the world looks very different than how it is portrayed in the Mercator Projection map. I then go on to explore how certain countries are unexpectedly larger or smaller than what they appear to be, and how some places looks wildly different than our perceptions. PS; Don't totally hate on the Mercator Projection, it's actually a really useful map for navigation and on keeping the correct shape of countries while sacrificing the size that we can all laugh about! They believe the Dalai Lama is his terrestrial representative, and his messages are transmitted to the lamas for thousands of years, These terrestrial inhabitants have lived here, sheltering humanity after terrestrial cataclysms.. The Russian artist, philosopher, and explorer, Nicolas Roerich, published that a Tibetan lama revealed the capital of Tibet was connected by a tunnel with Shamballah, the heart of the Subterranean empire of Aghartha.  And that the entrance of this tunnel was guarded by lamas who were sworn to keep its actual whereabouts a secret from outsiders those who are led through this underground passage travel deep into the earth through areas where it becomes so narrow, it can be difficult to pass through. What percentage of your brain do you use? - Richard E. Cytowic

http://ed.ted.com/lessons/what-percentage-of-your-brain-do-you-use-richard-e-cytowic Two thirds of the population believes a myth that has been propagated for over a century: that we use only 10% of our brains. Hardly! Our neuron-dense brains have evolved to use the least amount of energy while carrying the most information possible -- a feat that requires the entire brain. Richard E. Cytowic debunks this neurological myth (and explains why we aren't so good at multitasking). Lesson by Richard E. Cytowic, animation by TOGETHER.

10 Traits of Toxic Parents Who Ruin Their Children’s Lives

10:22
Raising children is very difficult and no one has the right to judge someone's particular parenting style. However, some parenting mistakes are more dangerous than others and can seriously damage your child’s health. This video will help you find out what actually affects a child’s psyche and teach those who have toxic parents how they can deal with this issue. When raised by narcissistic parents, children suffer from slowed-down emotional development or none at all, will most likely suffer from depression, anxiety, or post-traumatic stress disorder when they become adults and grow up into an adult that’s either a self-saboteur or a person ready to sacrifice everything to achieve high goals. Children of toxic parents live in constant fear and apprehension. They’ll grow up into teenagers forced to listen to their parents' complaints, adjust to a "complicated situation", put themselves in their parents' shoes, and help, tolerate, and console them. Toxic parents might not see anything wrong whatsoever in telling all the relatives, neighbors, and family friends that deeply sensitive information the child was pressured into disclosing. These types of parents instill an inferiority complex in their kids since they don't wanna see their child try new things and succeed. Their narcissistic self-love generates fear at the thought of their child becoming better, smarter, and more successful than they are. These parents seem to “generously” offer something that their children don’t really need, but any refusal causes resentment. A grown kid starts thinking, "My parents probably just want some company and wanna feel needed." So they accept the help, thank the parents, and offer something in return. But there's no happy ending here because the parents will always remind their children of that "favor" they did for them. Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music TIMESTAMPS The effect of toxic parenting on kids 0:53 Traits of toxic parents: 10. "Fear me yet love me." 2:01 9. "You need to deal with adult problems, but you still have no rights." 2:34 8. "Be the best but don't forget that you're not special." 3:14 7. "Open up to me but don't be surprised by ridicule." 3:54 6. "You're bad so don't even bother trying to become better." 4:31 5. "You can be successful but only if there’s something in it for me." 5:28 4. "Do exactly what I say, but it’s your fault if you fail." 6:15 3. "You’re such an inconvenience, but don't leave me alone." 6:38 2. "Accept our help but stop exploiting us." 7:11 1. "Trust me, but I’m still gonna go through your stuff." 7:58 How to handle a toxic parent? 8:44 SUMMARY -When raised by narcissistic parents, children don't feel loved, heard, or seen, believe that how they look is more important than who they really are as a person. They don't feel support when they try to develop their true self. -For toxic parents, an emotional attack is synonymous with love and attention. -Kids of toxic parents probably believe that it's specifically their bad behavior that makes their father abuse alcohol to calm himself down. -Even if their kid performs much better than they did once upon a time, all of the child's achievements are taken for granted. -Toxic parents force their children to be sincere and later use the same personal information against the kids. -Toxic parents eagerly discuss their child's failures and flaws. -They enjoy boasting about their kids’ success so that others envy them. Plus, a successful child is a guaranteed better life for parents. -Parents treat their child like an object: they make all the plans and expect their kids to follow along. -Toxic parents never want to let their children go. Yet they’re always pointing out that the house, the money, and the food belongs to them. -The kids turn into prisoners in either case: if they refuse their parents' help, they’re ungrateful brats. If they accept, they’ll always be made to feel indebted. -If you try to restrict access to your personal territory, your parents accuse you of distrust or even hiding something illegal or immoral. -We don’t pick our parents, and we can’t really change them. The only thing we can change is our reaction to their actions. Limit access to your personal territory. Choose your personal interests over those of your parents. Woodobo SPICE (FOR SALE): https://tinyurl.com/y7s5cnoo How to butcher a whole bear with One Wildcrafter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYps42O-Zyc UNLISTED CHANNEL: https://tinyurl.com/ybld4kmx Join me and Zach Fowler winner of Season 3 of ALONE on the History Channel. Zach's Playlist: https://tinyurl.com/ybzv8ttt We weight-in and weigh-out and if we lose any body mass at all, we have FAILED the challenge! Unlike Naked and Afraid, ALONE, or Survivorman, there is no limit to the tools we are allowed to use on this survival challenge. Living off just WILD foods is harder than you think! If it's legal, it's fair use. Sometime we even do some bushcraft, but the main focus is really on eating wild foods, wild edibles and catching and cooking various foods. This isn't about just surviving, this is about thriving! Season 4: Northern Autumn, takes place in Northern Ontario with vast opens seasons including fish, catfish, pike, trout, birds such as grouse, duck, and geese, bear, deer, and moose. Also wild apples, mushrooms, berries, and so much more. We make use of all the resources in this challenge to meet the demands for calories imposed by the human body! BIG Mistake Mr. BLACK BEAR! In this episode we pursue black bear over bait with the help of a friend that we met at puddle lake. Using bait for bears is a very common way to get black bear in Northern Ontario because they are very difficult to spot in dense woods. Black bear are very common in Ontario and often make their way into backyards, city areas and in garbage, they are necessary to control and how we hunt them is totally legal. Beaver are surprisingly easy to trap and offer a ton of nutrients to the forager. A real staple item! Beaver is also great eating, usually very full of fats crucial to surviving long term in the wild. We need to change how we bury the dead

It uses an incredible amount of resources, emits toxic pollutants into the air, and pumps the ground full of formaldehyde, which is known to cause cancer. It's also prohibitively expensive. The average cost of a modern funeral costs between $10,000 to $12,000. There are a number of greener options available though. Cremation uses less resources and requires less space than a traditional burial, but isn't perfect. There are more experimental methods on the horizon such as promession and alkaline hydrolysis. No matter which method we choose, it's clear that we need to reform how we bury the dead. Also be sure to read Mark Harris's excellent book about green burials http://www.gravematters.us

Daniel Kahneman: "Thinking, Fast and Slow" | Talks at Google

01:02:27
@Google Talks is proud to welcome hero of psychology, Daniel Kahneman. Daniel Kahneman, recipient of the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences for his seminal work in psychology that challenged the rational model of judgment and decision making, is one of our most important thinkers. His ideas have had a profound and widely regarded impact on many fields—including economics, medicine, and politics—but until now, he has never brought together his many years of research and thinking in one book. In the highly anticipated Thinking, Fast and Slow, Kahneman takes us on a groundbreaking tour of the mind and explains the two systems that drive the way we think. System 1 is fast, intuitive, and emotional; System 2 is slower, more deliberative, and more logical. Kahneman exposes the extraordinary capabilities—and also the faults and biases—of fast thinking, and reveals the pervasive influence of intuitive impressions on our thoughts and behavior. The impact of loss aversion and overconfidence on corporate strategies, the difficulties of predicting what will make us happy in the future, the challenges of properly framing risks at work and at home, the profound effect of cognitive biases on everything from playing the stock market to planning the next vacation—each of these can be understood only by knowing how the two systems work together to shape our judgments and decisions. Engaging the reader in a lively conversation about how we think, Kahneman reveals where we can and cannot trust our intuitions and how we can tap into the benefits of slow thinking. He offers practical and enlightening insights into how choices are made in both our business and our personal lives—and how we can use different techniques to guard against the mental glitches that often get us into trouble. Thinking, Fast and Slow will transform the way you think about thinking.

Make sure to test your understanding of the lesson at https://www.engvid.com/how-to-discuss-a-topic-in-a-group/ To improve your English, subscribe to each of the teachers who appear in this lesson: Ronnie - http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=EnglishLessons4U James - http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=JamesESL Alex - http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=AlexESLvid Adam - http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=EnglishTeacherAdam Rebecca - http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=RebeccaESL TRANSCRIPT: Hi! My name is Rebecca, and in today's lesson you'll learn how to participate effectively in a discussion in English, something you may need to do in your personal, professional, or academic life, okay? Now, the topic we'll use as our sample is this one: Is it better to study online or in a regular classroom? Okay? You'll have a chance to hear a discussion by native English speakers on this topic. What I'd like you to do is listen for any special expressions and phrases that they use during the discussion. Afterwards, I'll review the expressions and phrases with you, okay? Now, today I have some special friends who have agreed to help me with this lesson, and they're waiting in the classroom next door, so let's go and say hello to them. -- Hello! -- Hello! -- Hi! -- Hi! -- Well, look who's here. It's -- -- Ronnie. -- Alex. -- James. -- Adam. -- Thank you for joining me, and thanks for helping with this lesson, guys. -- No problem. -- No problem. -- So you know we're talking about discussions, and the topic is: Is it better to study online or in a regular classroom? Okay, who wants to go first? -- Okay, so I'll start, and I think that it's actually very good to study online because it's very convenient because you can study whenever you want and at your own pace. For example, someone like me, I like to study at nighttime. So for me, online works better because it's quiet at night, no one disturbs me, and I can do what I need to do. -- Okay, that's true, but if you're going to study online -- -- Sorry, but -- -- Please let me finish. Let me finish. As I was saying, that's true, but if you're studying online you do need to motivate yourself, so I think it's better to be in a classroom where you have other students and a teacher who can motivate you. -- That's true, but some people can't afford to go to a classroom and don't have enough money or resources to actually go to a big school. So studying online, you can actually do it for free. -- Me? Well, I would like to add -- May I say something? -- Sure. -- Soft skills. That's not usually talked about in schools, but when we talk about "soft skills", it's actual interaction, utilizing your English when you're with other people, and that's hard to get online because you're watching a screen and not actually interacting with other people. -- You make a very good point but I would also like to add that sometimes having classmates takes you away from your focus because you have to maybe review things many times for other people to catch up, or you have to do topics that are interesting to other people, not to yourself. So it's a little distracting sometimes, too. -- However, focus is a good thing. I mean, it's not a bad thing to repeat something because sometimes people don't catch the material the first time. So that way, you go over the material, and they -- you know, you get depth. So you get to learn more, and people who don't understand get the opportunity to ask questions and learn from it again. -- Yeah, but sometimes the resources that you get in a classroom are boring, and online you can just look up whatever you need on the Internet, and you've got it right there. You don't have to rely on a textbook. Sometimes it can be a bad textbook.

Click here: https://goo.gl/wMuSDD By the end of Avengers: Infinity War, it was hard to imagine a more dangerous villain than Thanos, but in the aftermath of his now infamous finger snap, we saw the gauntlet destroyed and Thanos seemingly dejected. Captain Marvel may show up to save the day, but could she bring the Kree and Skrull with her to complicate matter? Web Accessibility

03:22
Download an audio version of this video at: http://resources.fahcsia.gov.au/videos/web_accessibility_video.mp3 Web accessibility - What does it all mean? Misconception: Web accessibility is about disability. No, Web accessibility is about universality. It's about making something that can be used by as many people as possible: different environments, different devices, elderly, different cultural backgrounds, non-English speakers, impaired abilities. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics in 2009, 18.5% of Australians had a reported disability, 8% of males had problems seeing colour, 15% of Australians were from a non-English speaking background and over 46% of Australian adults had low literacy skills. We need to make our websites easy to use for everyone. The hearing impaired, those with limited mobility, those with reading difficulties and anyone using handheld devices. Why? By making your content more accessible more people in more locations can read your information and they will understand it more easily. After all, you want everyone to get your message, right? Accessibility is also a legal requirement. Misconception: Web accessibility is not my problem. No, Web accessibility is everyone's responsibility. We're all in this together. What you do makes a difference. So what do people need? People need content that is easy to read, works on different devices, is easy to navigate, has good design and colour contrast, images and graphs that are described well, has video captions or transcriptions and has documents and attachments in a format that can be used by everyone everywhere. So how do you do it? Think about your audience: Who are you writing for? Who is actually going to read it? What do they need to know? Structure your content: Is your content in Microsoft Word? Have you used the templates and styles provided? Are your heading styles in the correct order? Check your language level: Is it short and simple? Is there a plain language summary for any policy or legislation? Think about alternative options: Are there text descriptions for your images? Do you have data tables for your graphs? Have you provided transcripts for your videos? Do a quick check: Use the Word Accessibility Checker and correct things as you go. Remember what you do at the start makes it easier at the end and your content gets published faster. Follow our guides and make it a habit. It's all about your audience and meeting their needs. Misconception: Web accessibility is hard. No, Web accessibility is easy. To learn more about accessibility, visit STAFFnet. How to write a good essay: Paraphrasing the question

14:39
Do you sometimes struggle to begin writing an essay when taking an exam? Good news! There is an important writing skill that will help you improve your essay introductions. This technique is called "paraphrasing", and it means rewriting something using different words. In this lesson, I will teach you how to paraphrase successfully and how to change essay questions into your own words. These skills are very useful for university and high school students, as well as any students writing English proficiency exams like the TOEFL or IELTS. TAKE THE QUIZ: http://www.engvid.com/how-to-write-a-good-essay-paraphrasing-the-question/ WATCH NEXT: Essay Writing – 6 ways to compare: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8WSzwBD7GQ TRANSCRIPT Hi, there. My name is Emma, and in today's video I'm going to teach you something very important for if you're taking any type of test that has a writing component. So, if you are taking the IELTS, the TOEFL, the CELPIP, even just a university test, it can be any type of test, but if you're asked to write something like an essay or a paragraph, this video is for you. Okay? So I'm going to teach you a very important skill that will help improve your marks when it comes to writing on tests. So, let's get started. So, I have here an essay question. This question is actually... I've seen it on the IELTS. You know, you have similar types of questions on the TOEFL, sometimes in university. The question is this: "Education is the single most important factor in the development of a country. Do you agree or disagree?" Or maybe: "To what extent do you agree or disagree?" So, this is an example of a question you might be asked. Now, a problem a lot of students have is in their answer to this question. They see this, and they think: "Okay, education is the most important factor in the development of a country, yes, I agree." So then they... Or: "I disagree", and they start writing. And what do they write? Usually the very first thing students will write is this: "I agree that education is the single most important factor in the development of a country because..." So, what is the problem with this? Is there any problem to start off your essay with something like this, or to start off your answer? There's a big problem. So I want you to take a moment and think: "What could be the problem with starting your essay off with this sentence?" Okay, well, if you noticed, you have here the word: "education, education, is, is, the single most important, most important factor". If you notice, these are the same. They're the exact same, except for: "I agree that" and "because". The student, here, has used the exact same wording that is in the question. So, if you do this on the IELTS-and many students do this, same with on the TOEFL-you actually will lose marks, and same with in university, because you're not showing your abilities; you're just copying what somebody else has said or what the essay question is. So, in this video, I'm going to show you first off... First off, I'm going to tell you: Don't do this, don't copy. And I'm going to teach you ways in order to improve yourself and your answer by changing this wording. How can you change your introduction so it's different than what the question is? Okay? So, let's look at how to make these changes. Okay, so what we are going to do in order to change the question into a proper answer that doesn't just copy the question, is we are going to paraphrase. So, the word here is: "paraphrase". This might be a new word for you. What does it mean to paraphrase something? Well, when we paraphrase, it means we take a sentence that, you know... We take somebody else's sentence and we change it into our own words. Okay? So, we change the words of a sentence, we also change maybe the sentence structure, but we keep all the same meaning. Okay? So, the meaning from the sentence you copy, it stays the same, same meaning, but different words and different sentence structure. Okay? So it's in your words, but this other person's meaning. So, we are going to paraphrase this example of a question into our own words. So, first we're going to look at how to do that using vocabulary and synonyms. So, we have here the same question: "Education is the single most important factor in the development of a country." How can we put this into new words or our own words that keep the same meaning? Well, we can use synonyms. So, this might be a new word for you, too. A "synonym". "Synonyms" are words that have the same meaning, but are different words.
JUST IN: 66 DEAD And Over 600 Missing – Trump’s About To Make An Appearance

Please Help Me To 100,000 Sub : American Patriot : https://bit.ly/2yOF8Xi SUB TO BACKUP CHANNEL HERE : https://bit.ly/2DuahBo JUST IN: 66 DEAD And Over 600 Missing – Trump’s About To Make An Appearance It is by far the most deadly single fire in California history and it’s going to get worse, unfortunately,” Thom Porter, chief of strategic planning for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, said of the Camp Fire which continues to burn through Northern California. Firefighters are doing all they can to contain a trio of tremendously destructive fires burning across the state leading to the deaths of at least 66 people. Schools have closed, communities have been ruined, and the air quality continues to worsen as people are inhaling fumes from the ravaging flames. @TheAmandaShea Do you think Facebook is censoring Conservative views? Sign petition to support Fee Speech that tells Congress to stop censorship before 2020 elections: (Please help by retweeting and following after voting!) ABC News describes the Camp Fire in Northern California as the “deadliest and most destructive” of the group as it has killed at least 63 people and, as of Thursday night, there are at least 631 people missing as the result of the fire. The death toll includes only areas where search crews have been able to comb through. As the fire passes and more areas are opened up for these crews, Porter said, the toll is expected to climb. At least 11,862 buildings have been absolutely destroyed as a result of the fires. ABC News reports California Governor Jerry Brown described the fallout from the fires as a “war zone”: Gov. Jerry Brown toured the devastation caused by the Camp Fire on Wednesday with Brock Long, administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and U.S. Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke. The government leaders visited firefighters still battling the blaze, which burned 138,000 acres and obliterated the town of Paradise, destroying nearly every home in the community of 30,000 people. “This is one of the worst disasters I’ve ever seen in my career, hands down,” Long said at a news conference Wednesday in Northern California. Brown said the destruction “looks like a war zone.” He said he spoke earlier Wednesday to President Donald Trump, “who pledged the full resources of the federal government” to help in the recovery effort. In a tweet, Governor-elect Gavin Newsom said: “Lives have been lost. Entire towns have been burned to the ground. Cars abandoned on the side of the road. People are being forced to flee their homes. This is not a time for partisanship. This is a time for coordinating relief and response and lifting those in need up.” United States Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar declared a public health emergency, saying: “We are working closely with state health authorities and monitoring the needs of healthcare facilities to provide whatever they may need to save lives and protect health. This declaration will help ensure that Americans who are threatened by these dangerous wildfires and who rely on Medicare, Medicaid, and the Children’s Health Insurance Program have continuous access to the care they need.” As ABC News also reports, President Trump is planning a visit to California to meet with victims and state officials. “We mourn the lives of those lost and we pray for the victims. And there are more victims than anybody would ever even think possible,” Trump said at a Diwali ceremony on Tuesday. “I want to thank the firefighters and FEMA and first responders for their incredible courage in the face of very grave danger.” “We will do everything in our power to support and protect our fellow citizens in harm’s way,” he added. “That’s a very tough situation.” Copyright Disclaimer: Citation of articles and authors in this report does not imply ownership. You see the Matrix No longer dependent on the ‘thing’ to make you money I moved into the high rise and make it make me money We build people’s brands here Insanely Resourceful - not about resources Midas touch - everything you touch becomes money Ex: Advertise AND a new car (use car in ad) Ex: Phone produces content Ex: Rubber bands = magic trick = money Ex: DIY (all ‘do it yourself’) Figure it out Story: Foreclosure houses with HOA Lien You see more than what the ‘thing’ is - you see further Ex: Penthouse can be used for private events You won’t win playing by everyone else’s rules Playing your own game Massive Self-Belief Confidence through competence You’re bigger than your environment You’re thinking “How can I USE this?” Ex: Keyboard - Put logo on the back & sell it Ex: Purpose of my couch - remove echo Ex: CRM - most people don’t use it to generate revenue You take any/all information and use it They say “Only study successful people” But ideas come from everywhere You no longer consume, you create Social media = produce revenue You use debt All wealthy people have some debt OPM (other people’s money) Ex: Real estate fund OPM & OPT - Other people’s money & time OPM - Debt to buy real estate, start a fund, etc Create time by using other people’s time (hiring) Knowledge gives you options Know more = see further Look at tech & combine it with your industry Knowledge = requirement for creativity Ex: Adam’s biochem proposal - no knowledge so I can’t create “The current model in development is that organizers secrete morphogens that diffuse through the extracellular space to form a concentration gradient as they interact with the surrounding progenitors. Sonic hedgehog is a well-studied morphogen that is secreted from the notochord and floor plate organizers of the neural tube and is required to properly specify multiple cell fates throughout the central nervous system” Mastery allows you to create This is why the best are LEARNERS ------- Social Media: Facebook: https://facebook.com/officialbenjibruce Instagram: https://instagram.com/officialbenjibruce Snapchat: https://www.snapchat.com/add/benjibruce Twitter: https://twitter.com/benjibruce

When She Told Me Her House Only Cost $4,000 I Knew I Had To See The Inside

03:00
When She Told Me Her House Only Cost $4,000 I Knew I Had To See The Inside What if I told you that an Austin-based startup company developed a home that could end the homelessness problem in America? After reading this article, you will start to believe it is possible. For just about $4,000, you can download a home, print it and have it up and ready for occupation in less than a day. Is not that amazing? While the company’s printable dwellings are still in the concept phase, they offer a gargantuan opportunity to people who live on the streets or in shelters. Being able to have an affordable place of their own could be a game-changer. The homes will first debut in El Salvador. And if they work well there, their use could expand to other parts of the world. And the hope is that billions of people could have a safer and better place to sleep at night. The homes currently cost about $10,000 and require about 24 hours of building time. But when things get up and running, they could cost as little as $4,000. The startup company is based in the innovative Austin, Texas. And the home was unveiled at the popular SXSW festival. The house had 650 square feet and a workable inside. About 1.2 billion people on the planet do not have adequate housing. A spokesman from the World Resources Institute’s Ross Center for Sustainable Cities said, “History has been punctuated with advances in technology and materials that provide an order-of-magnitude decrease in cost and time required to build a new home. And while recent decades have brought major advances in personal technology, construction practices remain relatively unchanged since the 1950s. Icon aims to change this, ushering in a new era in construction to meet the needs of the future.” The project is still being figured out. And Icon, the startup, has teamed up with New Story, a nonprofit organization that invests in international housing. Together they plan to introduce this new home to people in need in El Salvador. Over the next 18 months, they hope to build 100 of these affordable homes. New Story has helped people in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake left millions without adequate housing. Icon uses a Vulcan printer to create these homes. They create a schematic and upload that into the program. Then the printer takes that blueprint and “prints” the house. Basically, it does the work of contractors by laying the cement. The model home that was on display in SWSW had a living room, a bathroom, a bedroom, and even an outdoor space (porch). Everything about the home is 3D printed except for the abode’s roof. It was built on the Icon lot. And they plan to use this 3D printed house as more office space so they can further tweak the design and make it better. Hopefully, they will be able to help homeless people sleep better at night very soon. When prototyping is finished, Icon will relocate their Vulcan printer to El Salvador and start doing good work for people in need. 30 second starter: TES Maths Resource of the Week

07:20
What is it? Time to go a bit controversial for this week’s TES Maths Resource of the Week. Not everybody thinks that it is important that students can do mental maths quickly, and especially not under time pressure. Indeed, done the wrong way, such pressure may induce the kind of maths anxiety that can be so debilitating for students of all ages and ability levels. However, I am firmly of the belief that if students can carry out as many mental maths calculations without imposing significant strain on their working memories - with as many of these calculations automated as possible - then it frees up capacity to think about other things, such as how to solve more complex problems that involve these calculations. Whatever your viewpoint, hopefully you will find this wonderful resource of use. It consists of 46 maths puzzles, each of which require several mathematical operations to be carried out from the starting number to reach the final destination. Timers of 30, 45 and 60 seconds are provided on each slide, but these do not need to be used if you choose so. How can it be used? The obvious way to use this resource is as a starter activity. Lots of different mathematical operations are covered in each puzzle, including the basics of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, but also encompassing percentages, fractions of an amount, and square rooting, making it the ideal way to get your students warmed up for what comes next. I also like the way different terms for operations are used such as “lots of” and “less”, so students get used to selecting the correct operation. The biggest dilemma for me is what to do with the time aspect. Some classes, and in particularly some students, thrive on it. But for others it can be off-putting. And yet, I do believe there is the need to build up such fluency in carrying out these calculations. Hence, what I have found myself doing most often is starting the 60 second countdown timer, asking students to write down the answer in the back of their books along with the time that was left on the clock when they did it. They keep this time to themselves, which allows them to build up a personal record of whether they are getting quicker, without the pressure to share this with me or their peers. But - and it is a big but - I emphasise the need for accuracy. It is all well and good being fast, but if you are fast and wrong then that is no good to anyone. Accuracy beats speed every day. Thanks so much for sharing Craig Barton To access the resource and join in the discussion, or to view all the other Maths Resources of the Week in this series, just visit https://www.tes.com/teaching-resources/blog/maths

Can We Rely on Wind and Solar Energy?

Is green energy, particularly wind and solar energy, the solution to our climate and energy problems? Or should we be relying on things like natural gas, nuclear energy, and even coal for our energy needs and environmental obligations? Alex Epstein of the Center for Industrial Progress explains. There’s a lot of sun and a lot of wind. They’re free. They’re clean. No CO2 emissions. So, what’s the problem? Why do solar and wind combined provide less than 2% of the world’s energy? To answer these questions, we need to understand what makes energy, or anything else for that matter, cheap and plentiful. For something to be cheap and plentiful, every part of the process to produce it, including every input that goes into it, must be cheap and plentiful. Yes, the sun is free. Yes, wind is free. But the process of turning sunlight and wind into useable energy on a mass scale is far from free. In fact, compared to the other sources of energy -- fossil fuels, nuclear power, and hydroelectric power, solar and wind power are very expensive. The basic problem is that sunlight and wind as energy sources are both weak (the more technical term is dilute) and unreliable (the more technical term is intermittent). It takes a lot of resources to collect and concentrate them, and even more resources to make them available on-demand. These are called the diluteness problem and the intermittency problem. The diluteness problem is that, unlike coal or oil, the sun and the wind don’t deliver concentrated energy -- which means you need a lot of additional materials to produce a unit of energy. For solar power, such materials can include highly purified silicon, phosphorus, boron, and a dozen other complex compounds like titanium dioxide. All these materials have to be mined, refined and/or manufactured in order to make solar panels. Those industrial processes take a lot of energy. For wind, needed materials include high-performance compounds for turbine blades and the rare-earth metal neodymium for lightweight, specialty magnets, as well as the steel and concrete necessary to build structures -- thousands of them -- as tall as skyscrapers. And as big a problem as diluteness is, it’s nothing compared to the intermittency problem. This isn’t exactly a news flash, but the sun doesn’t shine all the time. And the wind doesn’t blow all the time. The only way for solar and wind to be truly useful would be if we could store them so that they would be available when we needed them. You can store oil in a tank. Where do you store solar or wind energy? No such mass-storage system exists. Which is why, in the entire world, there is not one real or proposed independent, freestanding solar or wind power plant. All of them require backup. And guess what the go-to back-up is: fossil fuel. Here’s what solar and wind electricity look like in Germany, which is the world’s leader in “renewables”. The word erratic leaps to mind. Wind is constantly varying, sometimes disappearing completely. And solar produces little in the winter months when Germany most needs energy.
