Excellent tutorial. I keep this bookmarked for future prospective. Had recently used Shoviv exchange migration tool to migrate from Exchange to Office 365 and it worked well for me.

Was a little painful watching the restart of the service. "net stop msexchangeIS && net start msexchangeIS"

You have entered only Holy's Email address in the wizard but how come it picked up all 12 mailboxes to migrate ... please explain
Daniel Albeanu (2 months ago)
I guess she had a global admin role on the exchange server so she could read all the e-mails from all the accounts.

I believe this happened because he carried out a cut-over migration in the example. So all mailboxes are expected to be migrated.

Hi, thank you for this wonderful documentation. I have a quick question - Upon setting up the Outlook profile (after pointing the MX record to 365) - How does Outlook manage to spot the 365 instance of Holy's mailbox and not the on-premise one first? Should we first point the autodiscover record to 365? In addition, the on premise server might be reachable by SCP, so how can we set up the new mailbox while connected to the organizational network? Please advise Thanks again! Yaniv

Amazing video. I was looking for something like this that covers the demonstration in addition with the theoretical aspect of migration. It was exactly what I was looking for and although I haven't done a migration yet I am extremely confident I can do an SEM now. Thanks.
